Superior Granite

Let me start by saying this is only the second time I have ever left a review on Yelp or anywhere…read moreelse, but I am just so thrilled that I had to spread the word! I can't express enough how pleased we are with Superior Granite. The entire process from start to finish was absolutely wonderful! They were recommended to me by a contractor friend and since we live about 30 minutes away from their main Pensacola office, I decided to swing by another granite shop right down the street from our house. They barely acknowledged me and when they did call to give me a quote, they quoted me $75 a sq ft for mid-grade granite. When I asked why is this quote so high, she told me, and I quote, "The particular slab of granite you chose is very fragile, more fragile than others, so we have to charge more." This of course was a complete lie and I hung up the phone and immediately drove to Superior Granite. They were very busy when I arrived on a Saturday, yet still one of the owners, Wally, came right out to greet me and was ready to help me find the perfect slab of granite. I told him about my experience with the Gulf Breeze granite place and showed him a picture of the slab I had chosen there and he said "Thats a $59 a sq ft granite." I was blown away and yet he never badmouthed his competition when he explained that the granite quality is the same for all pieces...the price difference occurs with the more complex designs. Their quote was $2500 less than the place in Gulf Breeze! He proceeded to walk with me through their HUGE stock of inventory and when I didn't see exactly what I was looking for, he took me to the office and pulled up several slabs, that he had handpicked on one of his scout trips abroad, that were on a cargo ship on their way to the US and said he had one in mind he thinks I will love. He showed me the pic and it was perfect! Since I wasn't in a hurry, I could wait for the shipment to arrive. All-in-all he spent over an hour with me that day and I was sold! They called me periodically and kept me updated on when my granite would arrive and when it did I went to see it and it was exactly what I wanted! My install was scheduled for the following week and I couldn't be happier with how the install went! First of all, the two installers were personable and very skilled at what they do. They happily answered questions and went out of their way to keep my kitchen clean. We have a new range and when it stuck out further from the cabinet (due to protrusions on the back of the range) than I would prefer, he went out of his way to cut holes out of the piece of wood on the wall that supports the backsplash so that my range would slide in further. Carpentry was obviously not part of their job description, but he went above and beyond so that I would be truly satisfied with the positioning of my oven. I was so thrilled that he would go out of his way and take the extra time to measure and cut with an electric wood saw just so my range would slide in further....again this had nothing to do with his installing my granite. The other installer also cut the faucet and soap dispenser holes far enough apart to help with the cleaning, which I would have not thought about. Their attention to detail was awesome! When they had finished, I was blown away by the transformation of my kitchen and the sheer beauty of my countertops! I would recommend Superior Granite to everyone! It was such a terrific experience from start to finish!!

I called around looking for quartz pricing. I said I was looking for white quartz. They told me…read morequartz starts at $49 and having driven by many times, I know they would have what I'm looking for and surely for the lowest price due to the volume they do. I couldn't get by during business hours so I went after dark and shopped their slabs. They have a huge property, tons of slabs. I found 3 I was interested in. I called again and gave a salesperson the data right off the side of the slab and the guy was just confused as to what I could be asking about. Finally, he exclaims "Oh, it's an abbreviation!" I'm thinking: IDK!? It's YOUR inventory! Anyway, for white quartz, the price is $59/sq. If I said I'm shopping for white quartz, why tell me quartz starts at $49 if I'm going to come up there and find no white quartz for $49? Tell me during my first call that your white quartz starts at $59 or tell me what options are available for $49. Have a form email ready for bargain shoppers to show your cheapest granite and quartz. I will add that the receptionist at Superior Granite is phenomenal though. When you call a million places, someone as kind and gentle as her stands apart from the crowd.

Immediately decide go to the office and see what can they do to fix the problem. When I went to the office to complain after noticing the two differ color shades on the installed counter, they refused to accept the issue. They claimed the problem . The look of the finish was our fault as customers and not theirs, even though the two different shades and the poor installation were obviou. I do not recommend them; The company lacks professionalism and accountability has s really bad.

SHODDY, SLOW, $$$$$$$…read more I went with Emerald Coast Granite Tile and Glass (EC) to replace my kitchen counters, what a DISASTER. Although I had better price quotes (from big box stores) I didn't want to deal with subcontractors and wanted a professional job done, therefore I chose EC. The project took twice as long as initially quoted, but that is not my main complaint. All my dealings with the company were suspect. The installation was shoddy and the finish worse than amateur. On February 2nd I was told that if I bought a new sink, the installation and hook up would be included, so I did, although my sink was fine. Two days later Robert, who had made this deal no longer worked there and I had the extra expense of a new sink, without getting it or the faucet hooked up. On February 7 they sent two subcontractors with the wrong counters. I went back to the shop to confirm my order, was told they would be there later that day with correct order. Called Wednesday, they were too busy. Thursday came and went. Friday at 11 AM the two subcontractors showed up brought a counter in, took it back out and said they needed to get a chisel from the shop. I offered them the use of mine, but no. They returned 3 hours later, fused one seam and left to pick up kids from school at 3 PM, tools strewn about the project. They also wanted to tear out a decorative backsplash behind the cook-top to continue the install. Unannounced two different workers came Saturday to install most of the counters. Each piece they had to re-cut in our driveway to make it fit. None of the miter cuts are lined up with the corners in the kitchen, there were wide gaps between the counter and the backsplash and at the ends of the counter was a gap exceeding 1 inch to the wall of the cabinet. To fix that they glued a strip to the cabinet, which I had them remove. Their advice was to 'use white caulk to fix the gaps'. The bar top (2 pieces) has a dinged end, and the other piece is cut too short, so they packed it back to the shop to fix it. They said they would be back the next day to finish the install and the sink, but would not hook up the cook top. Two days later (Feb 14) another set of subcontractors show up, install the bar top (the exact ones that went back, with the dinged up part), and push a tile out of place in the back. They offered to caulk the gaps, but admitted that the caulk kept falling through. They never reconnected the faucet or cook-top. Thursday morning I had a reminder to pay the balance of $4k. I took pictures to the shop and they admitted it didn't look good, they could fix the gaps with some inserts and caulk. They did not offer to do it right and align the counters, cut them to size so I paid and left, since I had enough of their botched jobs.
