There were so many things I wanted to try. I ended up getting the Jerk chicken with the confit on the side because I didn't want spicy and a side of fries. This was so good. As you can see. I cleaned my plate. I also tried other people's appetizers like the coconut shrimp and Jerk ribs... both were really good. I tried a taste of the bbq shrimp dish, which was also good. Lastly, I tried a slice of someone's steak. It was lacking flavor compared to everything else. Also, they brought out birthday shots and supplies for us to cut and pack the cake. The service was amazing. I'm definitely going back and im probably going to get the chicken again. Lol

By far my favorite thing we had. The calamari was over cooked and very rubbery to the point it was hard to chew. we did inform the server and they did remove it from our bill (we didn't ask them to, so that was nice of them). For entrees we got the Dominican ribs and the redfish. Red fish dish was very good. The ribs had good flavor but I think they were kinda overcooked as well and the mashed potatoes were cold. Service was okay. I am willing to give it another try but my first visit definitely could have been better.

A small but thoughtful wine list. Generous servings. Recommendations: the dipping sauce and bread. This sauce is unbelievably rich and scrumptious. The large loaf of bread is a perfect match. Whatever you order swap sides for the crazy potatoes. They are addictive!! The po-boys are ample and well prepared and dressed. Oyster po-boy is surprisingly good. The blackened redfish was seasoned well but slightly over cooked--a minor complaint. Next time we will try the beef!

We came here for a birthday dinner and when our last guest arrived, she was told the kitchen was closed. We should've been given a time that the kitchen would close seeing that we were still dining and ordering. When ordering entrees the waiter kept asking about sauces atop the entrees. No price mentioned whatsoever, just sang off a list of sauces. Apparently those sauces don't come with entrees and were additional charges that were not pre-disclosed. When my red fish came out, the side item was wrong. Instead of leaving the perfectly cooked fish and potatoes with me, they took the entire plate back. I asked for the sauce on the side because I'm not typically a sauce person. My plate was brought back smothered in sauce, red fish overcooked and rubbery, and the good quality cooked potatoes swapped out for some that needed a better consistency. To make matters worse soon as the plate was sat in front me my cousin arriving was told the kitchen was closed. She ate some of my red fish and agreed they re-warmed it, ruining it. Now this place uses some good seafood, I can tell it's a good piece of fish and good shrimp (shrimp wasn't seasoned well). So to take a cooked redfish back to the kitchen and re-warm it before serving to a guest is insane. This really upset me because that looked like a good quality red fish and it was ruined. It's a very nice restaurant but I feel I won't return because it was just too much at one time. Do a better job at having wait staff actually communicate with guests.

St Mary's Restaurant - great Irish breakfast with an Irish coffee.

The staff was extremely knowledgeable--not only about the menu, but also about the history of Louisiana. It was such a delight! I ordered the full Irish plate, and the food was freshly made, came out quickly, and was prepared just the way I asked. The pricing was very reasonable, too (no French Quarter prices, but close to the French Quarters). The staff was always attentive, and I loved seeing how they worked together and helped each other, whether it was with the tables or the daily chores. That really stood out to me. Whenever I'm in the area, I will definitely return. It is a bit cooler than expected, so bring a jacket! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, if not more!

It is a large space with a long bar as you walk in. When I went, the host/tess was located all the way inside the restaurant, so you walk the length of the restaurant to be greeted and seated by the host. I made my way down to her and she seated me right away. I asked for a water and an Irish coffee. She was not sure they had the glassware for an Irish coffee, but she checked with the bartender. And he was able to conjure up something as I was the first person to ask for one. I was a little surprised by that since they offer Irish breakfasts, but either way, I was very appreciative of his going above and beyond for me to make it work. He even asked which whiskey I wanted and had to search for some brown sugar for me. Very accommodating. The Irish breakfast came out and it was so good. The chef came out to speak with me too, I let him know I loved everything but the beans. He mentioned he was trying it out, as it is authentic, but knows it could be tweaked. I did love the marmalade, homemade marmalade on the dish, so good! I enjoyed the sausage - bangers and pudding - as well. So authentic and good! I felt like I was back in Ireland. Just needed some sheep to bahhh by. I do wish the hostess/waitress would have checked in on me more, my water was never refilled and I needed napkins as I had sticky fingers from that amazing marmalade jam. I plan to come back and bring some friends or out of friends, as I miss my Peppermill and this restaurant, I find, is a pretty good replacement - with Irish coffees and all. And proceeds go towards charity. How great is that! I hope they made the Irish coffee a permanent option on the menu before I come back!

My friend got the frozen blueberry mint froze and she loved it as well. We ordered the truffle fries for an appetizer and they were some of the best I've had. I loved the shaved Parmesan on top. I also ordered the Caesar salad and added grilled chicken. For $4 they gave a big amount of the chicken which impressed me. My friends ordered the Citrus Salmon Crispy Rice and Shrimp tacos. Both were delicious as well. The inside is very beautiful and bright with lovely decor. It did get very loud as the restaurant filled up so if you don't like having to talk very loud, you may want to sit outside. Our server was attentive although it seemed like he had so many tables that he was struggling to keep up as we each had to remind him that we ordered another drink. Overall, I will definitely go back but when it's cooler to sit outside.

His name isDRAKE This review is Definitely Not about the Food or the ambiance Both ranks very high in my book. I've been a faithful customer to this establishment as long as i've lived in New Orleans sometimes every day for lunch . We've moved to another state but trust me every-time I'm here i visit at least 5 x without hesitation for my Zea Ribs. Which brings me to my last visit on Friday evening Aug. 6th just after a long month spent in new orleans on business and again several visits to my Favorite Zea. My husband and myself decided to take in our last meal before heading back home we sat at the bar The bartender Drake was serving our party my husband and friend couldn't remember the name of the particular drink they'd had previously prepared by our regular bartender Jessica . I thought it was a pretty simple look at the last order on our tab to figure out what they were drinking.,,,,,,, They were trying to remember but Drake was becoming annoyed and angry by the minute finally he completely walked away and dismissed us totally. I was Flabbergasted ! He never came back or acknowledged our presence at the bar that's when i requested to speak with a manager whom accommodated us and spoke with us to rectify the situation but even as she was speaking with him we noticed how rude and abrupt his attitude was. Personally he should have been removed off the floor it cost nothing for kindness and to be courteous to all customers. Unfortunately Drake seems to need further training in customer service. For the future when i return to Zea if I see him at the bar I will definitely take my business where it will be appreciated. I will Not patronize where the staff has zero respect for the customer.
