Bring your own dishware... - Comfortable phone booths - Friendly staff I was in town for a show at Rams Head Live and wanted to get to Baltimore early in the day to avoid any traffic problems. Thankfully, Spark Baltimore seemed like the perfect spot since it is right next door to the venue, so I could work all day without having to worry about getting to the venue! Spark Baltimore has some awesome amenities for $15 a day. You can work anywhere you like across the 2 floors, have unlimited cold brew coffee (which is uh-mazing), can book a phone booth, and get pretty fast wi-fi. While I was there, I was able to take advantage of most of the amenities that the space had to offer. The phone booths (while being located two floors down from the main floor), were comfortable. USB and AC outlets were provided and the light was great for long video or phone calls. The kitchen is pretty nice as well. Both the first and 2nd floors have kitchens. I mostly hung out in the third-floor kitchen, which has the cold brew on tap and some alcohol for members of Spark. The only letdown I experienced with the kitchen was the lack of dishware. If you're planning on bringing your lunch here, just make sure that you bring a microwave-safe dish and utensils. For cups and things that they do have, there is a dishwasher if you prefer to use that. All-in-all, this was such a win! As an added bonus, I was able to hear the bands that I was going to see during their soundcheck from inside the building. That's just super unique and cool!

Parking in the area is a bit challenging though.

The space itself has a lot of different options for work, hot desks, couches, tables. The Community Manager, Kealea, is so friendly and welcoming. I can't say enough good things. I'll definitely be back if I'm back in the City.

I've worked at the Charles Village Exchange for the past year now. It has been a great experience…read moreso far, both in office ambiance, location, perks and the price for a space is comparable to other co-working spaces in Baltimore. The office space itself is in the third floor of a renovated row home, which has been upgraded and revamped to have a modern feel. Inside, there are 7 half walled cube spaces with ample room in each space to set up your desk area as you see fit. It has all your basic office amenities like coffee, water, fridge, and full bathroom. In addition, you can be as collaborative or as heads down as you need during the day with the other workers in the office space. In general, the office is also pretty quiet except for the occasional train that passes by outside the window, but that's not a big deal. I think the biggest perk is the location. Nestled near many nice Baltimore neighborhoods like Charles Village, Remington, and Hampden, you'll find ample options for coffee, lunch, happy hour and dining out. If I had to nitpick, the only tricky aspect or working here is parking. There are no assigned spaces in the back lot for Exchange employees, so we have to park on the street, usually on 25th street right around the corner, or on St. Paul street out front, if you're lucky. I usually find parking a little more difficult when school is in session. There's an elementary school on the adjacent block so those spots on the street fill up pretty quick. While it's not deal breaker, it's something to keep in mind. Lastly, if you're on the fence about signing up, contact the owner/manager Eve Austin. She's the nicest person to deal with and can give you a tour of the space at your convenience and can accommodate almost any request.

The location offers free coffee, a conference room and phone booth, a shared kitchen, great WiFi, and a quiet and comfortable cubicle-like desk setting where plugging in and focusing on head down work is a simple task - all for a very affordable price. Collaboration in the conference room helps my coworkers and I complete tasks together efficiently. The sense of community throughout the whole building is also a plus, considering there are happy hours every first Thursday of the month and the occasional barbecue on the outside patio. Overall, I would recommend this space to anyone who is currently searching.

We knew nothing about City House, but were intrigued by the name and were delighted to have the…read morechance to visit thru Doors Open Baltimore. Our breath was taken away when we stepped into this gorgeous home. It was designed by Joseph Evans Sperry, as the city residence for Mr. William Marburg, one of Baltimore's wealthiest residents at the time. Mr. Sperry also did the Emerson "Bromo Seltzer" Tower, the Equitable Building, the Grand Lodge of Masons, the Mercantile Trust Building, as well as many others. Alexus gave us an interesting and informative tour. We learned that the name of the newly renovated mansion comes from the original blueprints that were discovered in the basement vault at the time of purchase. These blueprints were titled "William A. Marburg - City House" since Marburg had acquired both a city house and a country house. The 16,000 square foot mansion has superior craftsmanship and was just stunning. They managed to keep most of the original features. The ceilings in the living room were so phenomenal. It was so nice to see such detailed plaster work, multiple pocket doors, refurbished hardwood floors, a grand staircase, and 12 marble fireplaces that are uniquely carved. There are numerous, intricate, stained-glass windows, complemented by two stained-glass skylights on the top floor. Most of the Philippine mahogany woodwork is original, which they are painstakingly cleaning right now. The first floor has a large reception area, unique oval meeting room, a large eating area, and kitchen for all to use. The space can also be rented for private events. The basement level contains its original wine room which has been converted into a conference room. The top three floors are divided into unique office suites for individuals or companies who require either a single or group office space.
