The changing rooms are always immaculate and they offer good facilities, there are lots of hairdryers and it reminds me of a spa in there. The gym itself is well laid out and is a comfortable temperature for your workout, it has never been too busy and I have never felt that I have been looked down upon for my poor physique - whereas some gyms you feel uncomfortable. The staff are all really friendly and helpful and after your workout there is a really nice restaurant which serves really nice food and really tasty coffee.

Toilet paper was on the floor for three consecutive days when I went. Toothpaste and what appeared to be mud had been sprayed up the shower cubicle wall. Jacuzzi hot tub is cold, not heated at all. I sent an email asking how often the changing rooms and showers were cleaned, and what the temperature of the hot tub is set at, but I never received a response. A couple days after my trial finished. I received a marketing calls from the leisure centre asking if I'd like to sign up with them. I explained that I had emailed but received no response and I asked them on the phone how often the showers were cleaned and what are the temperature of the hot tub was. They told me that they didn't know how often the showers were cleaned and that it's supposed to be done by the lifeguards..they told me that they didn't know how often the showers were cleaned and that it's supposed to be done by the lifeguards. they also told me they don't know what the temperature of the hot tub is set at and that they would speak to their managers, who would then gets back to me. I wasn't surprised when I receive no response from management after waiting two weeks for one. Conclusion: For more than £40 a month, I would expect the changing rooms and showers to be cleaned at least daily and I would expect professionalism from the staff. Unfortunately both of these things are not apparent and I would warn anybody before taking out a monthly or yearly contract with the leisure centre that you check these conditions for yourself. If I had actually received a phone call back from the managers I might well have ended up signing up to the leisure centre because it's closer to me than other gyms. However, I have now signed up to another gym which happens to be a lot cheaper and the quality is much higher.

There is nothing to stop people from staying over the allotted hour play time, meaning that when others stay and more come in there can be more than a hundred children at one time the softplay center. A serious accident is waiting to happen. When speaking to the manager he offered no solution. Terrible booking service through the website (often doesn't load) Can't get through via phone (i've been on hold for 30 minutes now)

Our football team train outdoors on the 3G pitch, it's not the best pitch I've ever played on and the nets have seen better days but it's still pretty good. We also train indoors in the main sports hall. They have pretty good fans when it's hot and you can open the doors which is a bonus. The building is pretty modern, the toilets and changing facilities are alway clean and the staff always seem really friendly. If your looking to hire a sports facility then I'd definitely recommend this place.

This is the extremely plush leisure centre set up by former pro tennis player David Lloyd. If this…read moremeans nothing to you, he's the less good brother of former British number one John Lloyd, who also wasn't that good though he did get to marry Chris Evert back in the day, so he must have been doing something right. As you'd probably expect, the main focus here is tennis - indeed they probably have the best facilities in the city here, with more courts than you can shake a racquet at and lessons on offer. I've only used the gym and these are also top notch, with every gadget you can think of (the running machines are even equipped with individual TV screens with Sky Sports to entertain you while you slog away). This is, of course, very expensive though - I only went because I was given a free pass - and unless you have a real devotion to tennis or fitness and live near Ashton, it's probably not worth the expense or the journey.

The floor tiles were nice and warm as well. Heated? Maybe, or perhaps my feet were just particularly cold ... (email and ask me about heat transfer if you like, I used to teach Science....) The swimming pool is about 20m so not quite long enough for my liking but more than ample. They have a couple of lanes set aside for dedicated lengths and the rest of the pool is open for a free swim. To add to the luxury of the pool area there is a spa/hot tub, sauna and steam room (Me like the steam room!). The shower area in the changing rooms are also well kept. Their is a great machine that shakes your swim wear almost dry in a few seconds (I call him Shakey) to prevent your bag from getting soaking wet. Nice touch. The gym itself has a large array of cardiovascular machines including steppers, treadmills and various other contraptions. There is also a choice between free weights or machines depending on your preference. The club room serves food/drinks and has a few bigscreen TV scattered about the place with sports or news on show. There are a couple of PC's available not to mention the wifi setup. Being a David Lloyd centre it is big on racquet sports so there are squash, badminton and tennis courts aplenty. The centre boasts a large car park and is right next door to the park and ride so it is fairly well set up for commuters and drivers. The downside of this fitness paradise ---- Expense! I am not a member (I'm allowed in while my local pool is being repaired) but I am told the monthly fee can be as much as £80 a month. Who knows? You know it is going to be expensive though when a company doesn't list its price on their own website! This aside, it is still the best fitness/leisure centre I've ever been to.

So I was on the look out for a leisure centre with a nice swimming pool, and I think I have found it in Keynsham. The pool is a good size, and as per most swimming pools they have different time slot for different activities, such as free swim (that means do what you like, not that it is actually free!) Lane swimming, and of course for the younger ones (and young at heart!) the activity hour(s) where lots of floats are bobbing aroung the swimming pool. There is also a gym in the Leisure centre. If you sign up for membership before the 31st May 2010 you get 2 months free membership.

You can book swimming lessons in advance, the teachers are very patient and always make you feel you are doing well, even if it doesn't feel like it. For the children they give certificates, they are called Duckling awards, it makes the children feel good when they have achieved a goal, and are given a certificate, They also raise the water temperature twice a week for certain groups.
