Really disappointed. I requested a box spring so no assembly would be required but was sold a frame that requires assembly that I cannot put together. (I was told assembly would be easy.) We ordered a $5,500.00 bed online, on sale for just under $3,500.00. We spoke with a Sales Representative at the Winnipeg store who coordinated delivery to us here in Toronto. We asked if the delivery people would be masked, etc. and were advised, yes. These two shlepper dudes arrived, one had his mask barely covering his facial orifices, they ripped the plastic covering as they dragged the mattress on the sidewalk outside (no dollies just dragged the thing) and one side was covered with mud. They started ordering my husband around. BAD MOVE. IT DID NOT GO OVER WELL. The deal was they would take the old bed (we paid for the removal fee) and they'd set up the new heavy bed. They debated this between themselves and we ended up showing them our receipt. They begrudging fulfilled the agreement. Nasty miserable individuals. The one asked to use our bathroom, and didn't even have his own scissors to cut the plastic wrap. GREAT PRODUCT, CRAP CUSTOMER SERVICE. The icing on the cake was we paid $300.00 for a bed cover. The delivery guys left it in their truck and expected my husband to go downstairs (we're in an apartment) with him to retrieve it at which point my husband stated: "I don't work for you". bought a washer on April 30th and by May 15th it was not working correctly - called the store and asked to talk to manager was told he was busy and that he would call me back in 1 hour - no phone call - called aagain and said I would hold 1 was on hold for over an hour and then was hung up on. Service calls are oy M-T 8-4 which means I have to take an entire day off work for a defective washer I had for 2.5 weeks - asked to bring it back and was told you can't return anything - so now I have to wait until July to have it fixed - will never shop at The Brick again for anything read more

I placed an online order for a kitchen sink in late November. Estimated delivery was 7 days. On day 6 when I hadn't yet received an email that it had been shipped, I contacted the store. They said it should be arriving the next day. It didn't, so I called the following day. The store said they had no information as it was through the manufacturer. They said all they could do was email them and wait for a reply. Finally I was given info to attempt to contact them myself. Speaking to someone in the Philippines, she also couldn't help me and said she would create a ticket and I'd have to wait another 48 hours. After a few days I contacted head office, they were finally able to tell me this item IS NOT IN STOCK! So this was after almost 2 weeks since ordering. They tried to offer me different styles of sinks but they wouldn't have fit, and I didn't like them anyway. Horrible customer service, wasted so much of my time. Eventually got my money back, but nothing extra for my trouble. I will not shop at the Brick again, and definitely advise not to order anything that is "online exclusive". Worst place to buy furniture! We purchased a sectional sofa last year from The Brick on St.James for several thousand dollars. Made in Canada and seemed super comfortable and well built, this was finally the couch we had been looking for!! One year later we now realize how badly ripped off we were !! We cannot even sit on the large section anymore as the springs just sag to the floor and creaks and groans like a worn out old couch !!!!!! The other 2 pieces we stopped sitting on after realizing the poor quality piece of junk we purchased!!! We do not DARE wash the removable covers! Now we sit at our kitchen table for comfort. After several calls and emails in regard to repair or replacement we hear nothing back other than someone will be in touch in 3 to 5 days, almost 1 month later still no call just more deflection! Let's not even talk about the layers of protection we had to put on all of the pieces as the threads in this high quality piece of furniture just keep coming undone !! I'll leave at that.If you plan to purchase from here go ahead just don't use it and it will be fine . The Brick does not sell quality furniture they just charge quality prices!! Worst service ever. I wish I had read the reviews before setting foot in their store. They lie, cheat and make up rules as they go not to cover their warranty. The reasons my claim was rejected 1- the size of stain (I wasn't told there were size limits) 2-cause of stain not considered accidental because two years old toddlers are known for their extreme intellect and rationality. 3- claim not made within 14 days ( which was a complete lie, and I provided them with proof) they blamed it on a typo, lol Whatever it takes for the brick to keep your money, they will do. And they advertise that if you don't use your warranty that you get your money back, complete bull. They rejected my claim and voided my warranty, and the Brick refused to refund me the money for the extended warranty. We purchased a mattress and box spring set from the brick and within a year we started noticing the quality was off. We specifically spent more believing we were getting more with a Sterns & Foster/ Sealy when really it has just been a run around trying to get in touch with anyone who is willing to help us with our warranty claim. The customer service person we've been dealing with (Louise Boulianne in Bedding) just keeps giving us the run around and comes back with excuses as to why they're not doing their job. I was forced to get appliances only from the bricks and midlands by my builder. I opted for the brick. Worst services ever. Paid a month before and the sales went MIA. Appliances came all of a sudden on a day not communicated and even so, appliances werent complete. The exact same thing happened for the last appliance to be delivered. When I tried to call, staff were rude, no coordination between department...they kept sending me on a wild goose chase. I bought a Full size bedroom set from the Brick at 1065 Saint James St on April 17, 2021 - got my partial order (Bed Frame and Mirror) delivered on Friday, May 7th, 2021 at 11 am. I opened the boxes after 15/20 minutes and noticed multiple scratches on both bedframe and Mirror. I called The Brick store and they asked for the pictures. I sent the pictures to them and customer service rep agreed that the furniture looks damaged and she will get back to me after talking to her supervisor on what they can offer me. Rep called me back and mentioned that her supervisor says that's how the manufacture makes it and the frame they have in the store also has scratches. Apparently, there is no customer satisfaction guarantee on Bedframe so the Brick can't offer any reselection or refund! read more

I had contacted with the manager about them giving me the wrong model of the chair I bought back in January. It was malfunctioning as well and they promised to fix it and it's still not fixed. Paid $2,400 for an oversized sectional that fell apart shortly after. Had it repaired twice but every time you sit on it, feels like it's going to break into pieces. I wish I had read the reviews before going to The brick. I bought my dining set, center piece and a stand alone chair from them and in less than 2 months, everything started to fall apart. I called the St James store to complain and asked to speak with the supervisor. Kathie the supervisor was extremely rude to me. Kathie after I told her that I noticed screws falling out of my chairs less than a month of buying them, she said, So why are just just calling about that, there's nothing we can do about it." Terrible customer service. If you encounter a problem with their products, they conveniently redirect you to their 1-800 customer service number and they won't deal with you in-store unless your buying something. We bought a leather couch and within the first year the leather was cracking. The product is of poor quality and they continue to sell the product even though they know the product is of terrible quality. We have warranty, but the product is just terrible design. I would have given a "NO STAR" but the only choice was one star. We purchased a mattress, box spring and bed frame from the Brick several years ago. The mattress has begun to sag and was apparently on warranty. When we contacted the store we were told that the frame was not the right one for the queen size bed and that the mattress would not be covered on warranty. Quite surprising to us as it was the Brick that sold us the set and they never indicated the frame was not the right one for the set. We had no idea what kind of frame we needed and relied on the Brick for their expertise. We have tried repeatedly to contact a manager and have left numerous messages with no success. Trying to call the Brick ends up with a call center (probably India) that is incapable of connecting us with the right person. We will be contacting an attorney to try to resolve the matter but in any event will never shop there again and will tell all our friends to do the same. CP read more
