This is a former water well property with 2 each 2 milllion gallon tanks still on the property. In the kids area as a tribute to the water history are three sample valves set in place. A Butterfly Valve with a handwheel Actuator, a quarter turn ball valve and a Non Rising Stem Gate valve. All donated and installed on copper pipe by Nibco Valve. A superior learning display. Upon entering the park, one will notice how this garden sends off quite a different "vibe" than western-style gardens do. Typical of Japanese design, it was thought out quite a bit, and there is a reason behind every little detail within. Every changing month seems to bring its own charm to the park. An excellent park to go to for feeling closer to both God and nature. This has got to be the loveliest acre of land in Mishawaka.

Some of those characteristics include: Water - renewal and calm Stone - longevity and forces of nature Yukimi-gata Lantern (a snow lantern) Bridges The park has all these but the water/pond which would ideally contain fish /koi. Of course, the weather here would necessitate wintering of the fish elsewhere, so it is probably a cost management issue. The park is well kept and is filled with plants, small trees, and gardens. This small park is located on the west end of a large number of riverside parks in Mishawaka. There is a small parking lot on the east side of the park. From the lot, you can pass through an arbor towards the gazebo in a round central area. The pathways are either paved or brick. Be aware that some of the brick is uneven and could use some attention, but I had no trouble walking comfortably across the few misaligned bricks. The park is very colorful with an assortment of flowers, shrubs and trees that take on many hues. Other than some fallen leaves/petals, the park was kept in pretty clean condition. One additional point of interest is the "Educators" statue near the roadside by local art instructor Harold Tuck Langland (2000). Review #3085

There is plenty of parking (with signage) and even an overflow parking area. The outdoor ceremony location has a turf ground and surrounded by trees. The turf made it easy to walk with heels and the trees helped provide more of a romantic secluded environment. The reception area had an outdoor tent area (for the post ceremony appetizers and drinks) and an indoor area (for the formal dinner). Can't say anything from a planning/organization standpoint but everything went smoothly from a guest's perspective and it was a lovely area to attend a wedding.

Every plant I've gotten from here has been really healthy and hearty, and I love that they carry organic gardening products. Any question you have, they have an answer and advice is free! There is always an employee nearby to ask! But not closer than six feet because they are also doing wonderful with covid safety. All the employees wear masks and I've seen them disinfecting surfaces quite often. I always feel good coming here to support a local business that has been here more than 70 years (plus their plants are much more well cared for than big box stores anyways!)
