The staff are relaxed, in letting people browse and look at the cat. We took my son there after a terrible experience at Meow Cafe down the street. We were able to interact with Mabel the lovely tabby cat and we bought two great books plus a sticker book that was recommended by the staff and we love. They also have excellent stickers books. Well worth going to with your little one! Hopefully this bookstore will be here in the future as we will certainly be putting it on our next visit list! Well done Mabel!

This massive location on Bloor is two stories and full of absolutely anything a book store could and should have. Books, magazines, clothing, pens, home goods, plushies, and did I mention the books part? This store is very clean, very well organized, and makes it very well known when a book is put out by a Canadian author with a big sticker right on the cover to let you know, and I sure do love supporting other Canadians. Overall, this location is amazing and probably my favourite one. I ended up leaving with a sweatshirt, a poetry book for a friend, and two books my wife picked out. I very much look forward to coming back on my next trip back home!

I loved the big open feel and that there were employees around to ask questions. I had researched options for checking out a local bookstore and landed on this one as it was close to our hotel. I thought the variety was good and liked that books by both local and Canadian authors were marked.

Definitely worth a try if you favor a genuinely pleasant book buying experience over the more impersonal Indigo offering.

My wife and I wandered into this store yesterday afternoon while taking a walk down Bloor. This store is PACKED from the front to the back and while that might overwhelm some people, I absolutely love being surrounded by thousands of books and the smell that comes with that. I spent a good thirty minutes digging through horror, Canadian history, poetry, and everything else before finally landing on something to read on the flight back home. The gentleman working was also great and definitely the kind of person I want to interact with while book shopping (I also support anyone going to see Napalm Death and Primitive Man). Overall, Doug Miller books is a must stop for any reader out book hunting. The selection was fantastic, the store was cozy, and the staff was fantastic. I'll definitely be back in the future!
