Sure, it's the offseason, whatever. We ordered a couple of frozen drinks and the problems immediately started. The bartender used way too much ice in the blender. The drinks were obviously undrinkable but served anyway. The drinks did not melt by the time we left. Maybe the food would be good. Wrong again. The lobster in the lobster pasta was tough. I almost hope it wasn't fresh because it would have been a waste. The linguine with clams was no better. At the end of the meal my girlfriend remarked that she had never seen me not finish my dinner. Most of the desserts on the menu were not available. The staff, while friendly & helpful, seemed overworked and overextended. This resulted in underwhelming, inattentive service. Our water glasses sat empty without an offer of a refill for an unacceptable 5-10 minutes. The staff gave one of us a free coffee and cheesecake slice. I appreciate the gesture however it cannot start to compensate for the very substantial problems here.

We visited the restaurant and our food was great. Service was quick and helpful with the menu as well. They had the fire place on which was so nice. We went to the bar/lounge afterwards and had a few drinks by that fireplace. So nice and relaxing. Staff was always welcoming and all drinks and food were good. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. That's all you can ask for! My only complaint was when we were checking out I wanted to make sure our bill was correct and wanted to speak with someone. With Sunday brunch going on upstairs there was no one at the front desk for almost 15 minutes. During the time I was waiting two other people came behind me to wait as well. The front desk person who came back was quick and friendly to get us checked out but for the price I would think someone would be there at all times? We can't wait to come back to Barons Cove soon!!

Room to Improve: 1) Inflexible 4:00PM check-in. They emailed to ask when we'd arrive beforehand; I said 2:00 and would appreciate an early check-in, they said to wait and will text me when room was ready. Actually we had to wait outside in the heat or in the crowded lounge until 4:30PM, no early check-ins for anyone (there were other guests waiting with us). We would have walked into town for lunch had we known this. 2) Free coffee but no included food for breakfast, which is only served in their upstairs restaurant at extra charge. At BC's price point they could have offered a few complementary pastries, as is done at many cheaper venues. 3) The a/c in our room was old, noisy, had no remote and didn't work well. Musty smell in room. 4) Lunch served outside only in all kinds of weather, insufficient umbrellas to provide shade on hot day. (Pls see separate review for their restaurant). All in all our stay at Barons Cove was pretty good, but felt their oldish amenities didn't warrant high room rates plus puzzling "resort fees."

Yes, the sauce was tasty, but the meat, again, for the price, was just not cooked correctly. We highly recommend you stay here, and we will definitely be coming back soon!

I was lucky enough to come here in the off season, so we were able to grab a prime spot just an hour before sunset. It gets super windy over on this part of Montauk, so I'd bring a sweatshirt just in case. They serve food during main season but when I was here it was just drinks so can't speak to the food. I should also mention the views from inside this bar are also great. The bar itself is an old wooden one. This place has charm.
