This is a makeup shop located in Melbourne Central made by Mecca Cosmetica and I have to say it's…read morepretty good! It's a huge shop filled with all sorts of selections and even free makeovers. The customer service was nice, gracious, and helpful. Their products are high quality and at decent prices too. I bought some nailpolish (they have nailpolish testers and free remover as well) and noticed that they were at the same prices in Big W also in the CBD. This will probably be my go-to place in terms of makeup because the employees seem to really know what they're talking about and can help you with whatever you need. I'm not that experienced with makeup honestly so I'll probably find this spot really useful. One downside I have to mention though is that when you make a purchase, they ask you for all this personal information such as name and e-mail. Then I started receiving Mecca Cosmetica newsletters when I didn't give permission for them to send me anything and they didn't notify me that I would receive any newsletters. I'm not sure if my cashier forgot or if it just isn't part of the policy. You can unsubscribe easily, but it did turn me off a bit.

Yes, yes, yes and yes at Mecca Maxima! I came across it completely by accident and thank my lucky stars I did. Generally cheaper than David Jones and Myer and stocking the absolute best brands in cosmetics, skincare and fragrances - Mecca Maxima is a godsend if you're sick of the hassle and hustle and bustle of the major department stores.

The girl working there was really friendly and down to earth where she explained what they did there really well and talked us through some of the candles and products. I know I sound lame for a man but I was totally into it so bought some of the candles and they're still going in my house. I'm sure women would get a lot more out of a place like this but I wanted to stand up for the men and say that it wasn't that bad and if you're in need of brownie points, then a high quality scented candle will go a long way! Trust me!

Clearly Paris (or even Europe) has arrived in the St Kilda area - or it feels like that is the case anyway, and within good reason too. Any of their facials and massages will leave your skin glowing and just feeling sensational. It is worth coming to the St Kilda East/Balaclava area to receive a facial once every couple of months to suck out those impurities on my face; and the staff just do it so well without criticising your face in any way, shape or form, and this is important. Great on a Saturday morning if your planning a quiet night in instead of going out. You just feel so relaxed that you might stay at the salon that little bit longer at the end of your treatment, and just grab a great coffee somewhere; or even something like a chai latte. An establishment worth coming back to in order to be appreciated. It is worth the $100 or so for the hour long treatment for what its worth. Fresh, inviting, chic and energetic.
