Seriously challenging Lagree workout (in the best way) I've now taken two Lagree classes at The Body Lab in Leawood while in town for work, and WOW. This is not a casual workout. For context, I'm a regular reformer Pilates attendee so I'm used to resistance training and core work. Lagree here absolutely humbled me. I was sore for days! the good kind of sore where you know the workout actually did something. I believe my instructor's name was Veronica and she was phenomenal. Clear cues, strong presence, and very attentive. She offered helpful corrections and encouragement without being overwhelming. It felt structured and intentional, not chaotic. The facility itself is: * Super clean * Bright and modern * Well maintained * Easy to navigate Check-in was simple and smooth. The vibe overall was welcoming and not intimidating. They're beginner-friendly but still deliver an advanced-level burn if you're experienced. I love that they also have a Prairie Village location that's on ClassPass! I'll probably book there next time to save a little money but I'll absolutely keep coming back whenever I'm in the Kansas City / Overland Park area for work. I'm tempted to try their heated yoga class, but I'm heat-sensitive and might pass out otherwise I would! If you want a serious, effective Lagree workout in Leawood or Overland Park, The Body Lab is 100% worth it. read more

I have been coming to The Body Lab now for almost a year & I have say it's the best workout in town! I've tried multiple studios in the Leawood/plaza/Praire Village areas & this is by far where you want to spend your money & get honest results. Always super clean, fun & motivational programs/competitions, & a FULL body work out. It's ran by a husband and wife & they both are a breath of fresh air with a great team of trainers. The nicest people you'll ever meet & true professionals in their craft. 1st class is always free. 5/5 Go check this place out!!! read more

I had a terrific class session here. If you are new to the experience try the essentials. I came prior to the pandemic for a regular class and I will highly recommend starting with essentials. I came here on a Thursday. I used a session from class pass. There was a class that was ending. I waited outside for a little bit while the next class rushed out. Kia ( the instructor) was socializing with a number of the students. I wish she had asked if anyone was new who had walked in. That would have helped ease my nerves a little bit. I saw she was working with someone she knew. After that I signed a waiver. Assigned one of the equipments. I was given some minimal instructions. All through the class Kia was very descriptive and came around to help. The students that were next to me were also helpful. Some of them have been doing it for a few months. Overall a pleasant experience. As of this writing, I will be stopping there again on Tuesday night next week. read more

The most challenging workout I've experienced. It's a 50 minute full body workout that utilizes slow motions to strengthen your muscles. The staff is very supportive and will help you through you workout and provide modifications if needed. They always start on time as well! If you're just starting out I'd recommend an "ESSENTIALS" class to get to know the basics! read more

Jena is a super badass Owner/Instructor as is Michael! These classes will give you the hardest and most effective workout in KC if you stay in it and stay on the slow count. I love the Body Lab as my main workout. I go three times a week and it really changed my body. I used to do HIIT workouts a various places with lots of jumping. I feel like this workout is just has hard, but not hard on my joints. I have been to a few different pilates places, but this lagree form is a lot harder and more effective!! read more

I had not tried reformer machines much even though I workout 5-6 days a week. I tried Body Lab out and loved the class! I was sore for two days even though I feel like I am in very good shape! I bought a package and go once a week in addition to my cardio and strength workouts. Jena is super and gives great tips to make sure you get the most out of your workout. The owner, Michael is terrible!! If I could give negative stars-I would. I came to the studio for my first time and he was horribly rude. Even though I have never taken class in that studio, Michael refused I take my first class free (even though thats exactly how he advertises it). He had a bad attitude because I am an instructor in another state. He told me I would have to pay for class and didn't care if I had never been to The Body Lab before. I travel for work and was hoping to find a new studio on the road. He continued on the rude comments of paying and wouldn't let it go, I began to feel super uncomfortable. My friend came to meet me for class, ended up taking the class without me and Michael also told her at the end of class that she find a new studio too- how rude! She did nothing and was treated poorly as a paying client. I offered to give him referrals and he said that "he hears that ALL of the time and never gets any". I have a big idea why he doesn't-his customer service is awful. Love the workout but horrible owner! Avoid this studio. read more

This is the most efficient (and tough!) workout I have experienced. The workouts are 50 minutes and focus on legs, core, and upper body. The owners and trainers care a lot about their clientele and help tailor the workout to meet the abilities of the clients. They also modified the workout for my pregnancy and post pregnancy recovery. Prior to The Body Lab, my workout background was bootcamp, running, weight lifting, and kickboxing over a period of 5+ years. After almost 2 years of working out with The Body Lab, my strength and physique have never been better. read more

This workout is amazing and this place is amazing. If you have not tried BL you should. The first class is free which is great because you will get an idea of what it is all about. Studio owner so incredibly rude! Drove an hour in rush hour traffic from downtown KC to get to class and was late by 2 minutes and he refused to let me take class! Horrible attitude and was so disappointed not to be able to take class. Don't be late or you're screwed with this studio! Need to work on their customer service! Traffic happens. read more

I love coming here for my workout! It always starts on time and you get a full body challenge in 50 minutes. I work out 6 days a week and throwing this in the mix of cardio and strength training is a great way to improve stability, flexibility and strength in one class. The teachers are encouraging and help provide adjustments to the exercises as needed. The small class sizes mean you get individual attention. The studio is clean and modern and the equipment is well kept. They do not have showers but the bathroom has nice amenities if you want to freshen up and go somewhere after your workout. Expect to shake and walk away feeling accomplished. read more

This is the best workout in all of KC. It is by far the most challenging and I feel sore in all the right places the days that follow. It's not exactly cardio, but I often work up an intense sweat, so be sure to bring a towel. Jena (the owner) is my favorite instructor, but they're all great.
