I wanted send her flowers and also support local a business rather than use some national chain even though I'm in New York. I found Burkes Hollow Florist online. I reached out to them and found that they were open and doing deliveries. I spoke to a lovely woman on the phone who helped me sort out what to send to my daughter. She asked about the occasion, colors she liked, and any particular flowers she had preference for. They delivered a beautiful arrangement, which my daughter sent me photos of. She could not have been happier! Since then, whenever I send her flowers I've used Burkes. This is the third year I've used them (maybe twice year) and I always get the same enthusiastic response. I have noticed a significant increase in prices in the past year. I'm sure inflation has something to do with that, but their numbers are not out of control. All in all, I highly recommend these folks. They really make an effort to get your order delivered when you request it, and the quality of the work, is stellar! I called in the morning to see if they could make a delivery that afternoon of a somewhat elaborate funeral arrangement. (I should note that it was the week before Christmas, when I know florists are exceptionally busy.) Not only that, we requested a dropoff at a friend's home because the funeral was at a community hall the next morning that did not accept flower deliveries and we'd be arriving too late the evening before to make a pickup. Not only did the floral designer jump on the phone -- unprompted! -- to discuss details of the arrangement, but the driver later called to confirm address info before dropping off. This is really above-and-beyond customer service in my experience of making many such floral orders. (Too many funerals recently but also some happier occasions.) I come from a family of florists, which I did not disclose on the phone, and know that it's rare to get such good help and such a beautiful arrangement. I wish I'd taken a better photo of it to post here. The family of three stoic men took it home after the memorial, the only flowers they made an effort to keep. Thank you for giving them that solace on a very rough day.

She always remembers me and takes time to catch up and chat. The last time I was there, she gave me a coffee mug that had been used to hold some flowers. I still use it and think of her often. Her warm personality and friendliness are some of the big reasons I stop in there. She is quick to help with selections, offer different ideas for things, and put them together quickly. I thought their product seemed fresh and in great condition. They had some very unusual flowers from South America that looked like bird feathers and felt like velvet to touch. Long stemmed roses were two dollars a stem. Three white hydrangeas were $10 and frankly that was the same cost as Cost Co to get that particular flower. I got three white hydrangeas and some pink roses and was very happy.
