My initial meeting with Barry (March 11th) was positive. But TEN weeks later when I called to see what was happening with my order, there was no record of me or my order or the fact that I'd paid half down. Soon after, I got a call with a long story about Hunter Douglas not getting the order. But NOW he's put the order in again. Five weeks later, when I called to see what was happening with my order, I was told everything was done but they wouldn't send anything because they didn't have the right dimensions for 2 blinds and he was going to have to come back to re-measure. On the appointed day, I waited for half an hour for him (I'd told him it was not a good day but if he could be there at 2, I'd be there.). He didn't show. I left the old blinds with a note for him. He left a card on which he wrote "I'll make them work". After another SEVEN weeks of never hearing from him, I called again. When he called back, he said he'd be here onThurs. to hang what he'd gotten. So, 23 weeks for him to bring SOME of my blinds. As he left, he told me he'd call the next day to update me on when the rest of the blinds would arrive. I haven't heard from him since. That was eight weeks ago.
Aside from the initial visit, Barry never contacted me until days after I'd spoken with his 'office help'. He was totally unavailable.
I realize I should have cancelled my order back in May when it was apparent they had no idea who I was. But he had my money and I wasn't going to be able to rectify his lack of work in the week before all our company was coming. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I definitely shouldn't have. The worst part is that years ago, when we needed blinds in our old house, I put in a call to The Blind Guy. About 2 weeks later (after getting an immediate response from a competitor who is no longer in the area) he called back. I knew better than to use him. I hope nobody else makes the same mistakes I have. I now need to find somebody to finish the job! read more
