Ask the Community - The Blanket Lady

Is there a laundry, in this area- NB/Coos Bay, with counter service to have my Queen blanket washed?

What a great question! I believe the laundromat down from the mall can help.with that! If you wash it yourself remember cold water and low temp dryer is best.😊😊😊

Ratings are falling! Have I shopped here? Yup... once! Will I go back? Nope!…read more It takes a whole lot to earn one star from me. But this one came rather easy. Here's the truth: I was the first to review this location, and I've had plenty of experience with them to voice an honest opinion. I purchased an Englander mattress several years ago, have been fairly happy with the bed, but wasn't thrilled with doing business at MBH. It was the first... and the last purchase. You see, I don't care how many years a person's family has owned a business. I don't care whether you're a bulldog or a pirate, or how many sporting events you attend. So, I didn't make mention of how "sports supportive" the owner of MBH is. He took it VERY personally. To date, I've never seen a business owner go to such extremes to try to change his "yelp" image. It's kinda funny when you think about it. The lack of customers should be an indication that I wasn't the only dissatisfied local or otherwise consumer! The reason I deleted my first review was after noticing that one of the biggest irritants had already been addressed. For more than 3 decades the place looked like little more than a junkyard and was a major eye-sore right on the main highway through town. While the outside seemingly has been picked up a bit, I thought perhaps my review was too harsh, even though I don't imagine it got cleaned up by choice. I'm guessing city ordinance. THEN... I started reading the reviews posted immediately after mine --- you know those kind that have ONE review and one GREAT thing to say about ONE business? Not fishy in the least! And, the last time I was inside the store... it looked so awful I actually offered to come in and do a little decorating. Once again, I was met with RUDE! It does not take a barn or warehouse feel to find value. Value is first in how you treat customers and visitors. That should be enough said. Beyond that, how they operate business does not seem to be contained to a less than appealing store. In this case... the bad attitude pretty much seems to follow the owner around town. Then I had the misfortune of watching local late night news and catching what could perhaps be the worst local ad I've ever seen. Bashing two of the other local furniture stores by name (who actually do showcase beautifully) he actually trash talks "memory foam - ie Tempurapedic" mattresses. Hmmmm... smart businessman? You decide. Here's a great reason most locals do not shop locally!

The owner showed us around, took his time with us and applied no pressure. We did visit another store in Coos Bay and one in North Bend. Bargain House keeps it real -- no nonsense, no pressure and really great mattresses. The mattress we chose was definitely the best value we could find in Coos Bay. It feels great and feels very durable. Thank you to the owner of Marshfield Bargain House for making us feel so welcome. We love this place.

I have rarely received better customer service than my recent interaction with them. A bit over three years ago, my partner bought a motorized adjustable frame and mattress. Three days ago, it stopped going up and down. Unfortunately we could not find ANY information, not the purchase date, not the method of payment, and most importantly, as it turned out, no operation manual either. We couldn't even remember the name of the store (although we did recall the location). So, after a false start, we were able to contact the store, who still had the record of our purchase, and was kind enough to email us a copy. I contacted the service company and filled out a lengthy online questionnaire and uploaded it. Turns out the warranty had expired earlier this year in January. So, we called the store again. The gentleman I spoke with suggested I change the batteries in the remote. I questioned this as the remote did light up and appeared to be functional, but he explained that sometimes that will happen but with weak batteries it won't transmit properly. Good to know. So, I changed the batteries. Then the fun truly began. Without the owners manual, what do I do to pair the remote with the bed? I know, I will search for the answer on line. Instead of an answer, I got TWO answers. By this time, the warranty company had received my info but denied our claim since it was out of warranty. The gentleman I spoke with told me how to pair the remote. I followed his directions and it continued to not work at all. So, I phoned the store again. Everyone I spoke with was pretty certain the remote was to blame and not the motor mechanism. So, we ordered another remote. Jenny went out of her way to make sure the remote was obtained from the warehouse the very same day, and so I went there to pick it up, but had the presence of mind to bring the old, presumably bad remote with me. When I arrived at the store, they were expecting me and Jenny had the new remote all ready to go. I asked if they would please show me how to pair the remote since I had been given two conflicting methods. Well, it turned out there was a THIRD method of pairing. By this time, you are probably ahead of me. Sure enough, after we tried pairing the new remote, I had to try the third method of pairing on my old remote. Sure enough, the third method worked, and I didn't have to buy the new remote after all. Jenny and the other two men were almost as happy as I was that I ended up not having to buy anything at all. BUT Jenny did say that, when I got home, if it still didn't work, they would make sure their tech would come out the same day, at a trip charge of just $30, to make sure everything was okay! Well, further assistance wasn't necessary. When I got home, I tried the same pairing method that worked at the store, and sure enough, it worked just fine, saving my partner and I LOTS of money. Jenny and her associates were more concerned with making sure I was taken care of instead of just trying to make a sale, which they easily could have done. I told them I was sorry they had to make a special trip to the warehous to get the new remote, now unnecessary, but they assured me it was no problem. It's been a really long time since I had such excellent customer service when no money exchanged hands. Needless to say, The Mattress Company has more than earned our repeat business, and my partner and I will certainly tell everyone we know that if they are in need of a new mattress or frame, that there was only one place in town that they needed to go. Thanks again, Jenny and your associates. We will never forget your kind assistance.
