This facility really adds to the attractiveness of Roseburg OR. Recently a costco and other big businesses have moved in, but the house prices are still low for what you get. What a place for families and for retired people to live. This facility really adds something to Roseburg. I think more and more people will move here and the value of property will rise because of all this growth, which this new facility is certianly a big part of. The top floor is mainly free weights and some treadmills and then lower floor is more of your machines. I enjoy lifting here because being that it is a smaller, the crowd is small as well. The gym is also open 24:7 which is amazing especially for people like me who work nights. The employees do a very good job at keeping the gym tidy especially for it being 24:7. And they also have a daycare room and tanning bed which are always nice touches. Both male and female bathrooms have showers. The atmosphere here is not to laid back and also not to ridged. I personally like rough gyms but for sake of comfort for all and well rounded ness this gym is wonderful. Gym owner Terry is a great guy. He is always open to any suggestions and goes out of his way to assist his clients. As of now this gym is a "no contract" gym. They take monthly payments in a month to month basis and are incredibly flexible to your needs. They are always upgrading and gaining new equipment. This gym also puts out many NPC qualified athletes for body building. All couched by Terry himself. After two years of membership I have ZERO Complaints.

I don't live in Roseburg - I use this gym every time I visit my mom though - and so my comparisons originate from my experiences with gyms in the Los Angeles area. Fitness First uses top quality machines, unlike the ones provided by my own gym (LA Fitness), and they are all well maintained, super clean, and given enough space so that the user is not too close to the next gym-goer. I see that there are a few low reviews on this site (mostly involving their prices or one remarking on their lack of child-care), but it's hard to believe those issues would be enough to give a low review for a gym. Have you ever checked the prices at a franchise gym? Ridiculously expensive. What my mom gets for her membership is phenomenal. She's so happy here, and every time I go (two to three times per year) they remember me and treat me like a friend. The yoga and class studio is perhaps my mom's favorite thing to do. The instructors, especially Nancy, have all become close to my mom (who is in her 70s) and I credit their work with keeping her moving and fit. We've also been to the additional annex with the crossfit equipment. So much more impressive than anything I have in LA. Also, I love the warm, friendly vibe. You're not going to get anything like that at a gym run by only by an "office manager" rather than looked after by an owner. Now that I'm home, back in LA, I felt inspired to write this extra review while getting ready to head up to my own gym, where, despite the fact that I go two or three times a week, not a single person knows my name.
