I have to say that the menu wasn't extensive and if you are the type that likes a steak you would be sorely disappointed. The main feature was the carvery, pizza they do, burgers too but that's about all. The staff were helpful with allergy issues and directed us to an app designed by the company to check their menu for allergens. There was a small (and slightly uninspiring) salad bar and we were allowed to help ourselves to chips from the carvery counter which was an added bonus. For those in the know there are on line deals such as 2 for 1 pizza and even without that prices were reasonable.

It looks…read morebigger than I'd imagine, we had the carvery, it was very nice, choices of honey roast ham, turkey and beef, plenty of veg to choose from and three different gravies too. The meat were not dry which is good as I find that its hard to keep the meat moist in carveries, I really enjoyed the wide selection of veg. Its not exceptionally great but its not bad either. The tables we had was a bit sticky so it would be nice if they were wiped properly. Service was good, we were looked after and the staff are very polite. Will certainly be going back.

Because it can be busy this sometimes shows with staff but they do follow there "training" well.... although a smile would help.. Carvery is buffet style.. you get your portion of selected meat or meats and yorkshire pudding you then select as much vegetables/potato/roasts as you want... Tasty enough. There is a menu for a variety of other meals and of course for a dessert if you can manage one.

Lager on draught but no cider except in cans. Derek and Alison run the pub and he is a "true blue" born and bred Yorkshireman... both very friendly. No telly or jukebox purely a drinking den. Clients range from millionaires/farmers/tradesmen/labourers all rubbing shoulders and "chewing the fat". Beer in clean glasses and tasty.. Decor, a lot to be desired.. Imagine a pub with sawdust on floor and this tells you about it. Dogs welcome if obedient. Open fire in winter with a woodburner stove in side room. To say a visit shall stick in your memory is an understatement... You shall either love it or hate it!!.. I shall be returning!
