Returned to try this pub restaurant today after a long time away. A friend told me this week the…read morelast managers had done a bunk. The pub / restaurant has only been open for 3 days and the new management were very welcoming. The beer was well kept or so my husband told me - £3.60 fior a pint of Abbot seemed slightly expensive though. The food was good, my husband had butternut squash soup and I had a parfait of chicken livers. We followed with Roast Beef accompanied by horseradish sauce. I would have liked more gravy on my dinner and a little more beef but that was my only gripe. We shared the cheese plate for desert, 1 cheddar and 2 blue cheeses one of which was stilton, would have preferred only 1 blue cheese, came with two small slices of bread and some dried apricots. We had the last two beef available so I assume this is why the portion was small -the 1 slice was thick and pink and very tasty. £1.50 for sparkling water is pretty average and the large glass of rose wine was £5.50 but nothing special. We will definitely go back to try this again. We had a wonderful walk after lunch down the lane opposite where the beautiful village pond is awash with ducks and geese. Awaiting you is a bench in the shade uinder the tree.....Highly Recommended. There is also a house opposite the pub with a stand outside which sells fresh vegetables, plants and the best preserves and chutneys you have ever tasted all at great prices. Came home with a jar of pickled onions, a jar of red onion chutney and 3 salvia plants.

Not a fan of the co-op down the road this is the best place to get produce, eggs, meat and just about most things you can think of to fill your fridge and cupboard. The upstairs even has large freezers with ice cream and baked goods, and more meat. The people are very friendly and everything is quite affordable. I am so happy to be able to support my local farmer. They'll soon be starting a delivery service as well!

My husband was able to find whole oats here (called Jumbo Oats) which he couldn't find in any of the major grocery stores. The meat prices are extremely good especially for being so fresh and local, and the frozen meats are a super bargain! We bought some just-picked seasonal strawberries yesterday and they were amazingly delicious. We still need to get some things at a bigger store like some familiar national/international brands or particular varieties of groceries, but Radmore Farm Shop is definitely our new place to walk for fruit, veg, and meat. It's perfect for those "What are we going to have for dinner" afternoons because I can grab meat, onions, mushrooms, and whatever veg suits and cook something up fast. We are definite fans and plan to shop here routinely while we're in town.

Based on the atmosphere and quality of wine, I love this little spot. It is so cosy. We were the only customers in the store and received superb service. The owner runs this location and a few other shops, plus hosts food tents at festivals during Christmas. She came over to our table and made some wine recommendations and gave us a bowl of crisps on the house. My partner, Seth S., and I both ordered the Pinot Noir from Romania. It was delightfully full-bodied and smooth. The lighting is dimmed just enough to encourage good conversation and a comfortable atmosphere. There are two main rooms for seating, each with groupings of chairs or booths around bistro style tables. The art and decor feel like a brasserie. I would highly recommend The Deli for a delicious glass of wine (or 3) and great conversation with friends.

Breakfast Review:…read more One of the best Full English breakfasts in the Midlands! Its a wonderful deli, on the High Street in Boldmere, with outdoor seating - which is superb when the sun comes out! The breakfasts are awesome. Superb sausages, great bacon, exceptional bread, (the deli sells some of the best bread in Birmingham). 2 succulent sausage, 2 bacon, fried egg, 2 half tomatoes, mushrooms. toast, quality butter. Its one of the best in Birmingham, (I rate it joint 2nd). The staff are great, headed by Pip the owner and her team of assistants, (including sons). The only real problem with this place is that I always spend a fortune on their amazing cheeses, breads, cakes and pate's. Try it. You will thank me!

The front of the building is the original old rooms which have been knocked through to give a more intimate atmosphere, at the back of the pub is more recent and has a large modern conservatory which is nice, but can be noisier. The pub has decent traditional ales, and the wine list is good. It has about a dozen each of whites and reds, a couple of rose wines from around £12 to £37. There are about eight champagnes from around £18 to £100. Most people don't come here to drink, they come to eat, and the menu is varied with more fish dishes available on Friday. Starters range from around £5 to £7, mains £12 to £17, deserts about £5 to £7. We had homemade fish cakes with Salad and Homemade Tartare Sauce for £6.90 which were excellent and Gravadlax with Smoked Salmon Pate, Toast & Cress Salad which was the same price and tasty, but a little too oily for my taste, it would have benefitted from a good-sized wedge of lemon. We followed this by Roast Aylesbury Duck Breast, Confit Leg with Gratin Potato, Plum & Ginger Compote for £14.95 and Roast Local Rare Breed Lamb with Crushed Jerseys Royals, Marsh Samphire & Tomato: both were excellent and very tasty. We were flagging a little now, so we shared a portion of cheese and biscuits at £6.50: it was nice, but I've had better. Overall the wine and food are excellent and the staff and service are both very good. There is a reasonable sized car park, but as the place gets very busy (so best to book a table) and parking can therefore be a challenge. Highly recommended.
