**It's YE Gurl -- flower-forward and fragrance-filled on May 10th **…read more While bopping around the **Hops on High Street Fair**, I caught sight of a parade of women twirling around with bouquets like flower-crowned woodland creatures -- and you know I had to follow the trail. It led me straight to **Blossom Flower Bar**, a new florist business that's clearly got the *soft launch meets cool girl era* vibe down. Think: **Trader Joe's DIY floral section** but with actual stylish florist folks on hand to help if you want a real-deal bouquet or guidance on your stems. The vibe? Youthful, jazzy, and blooming with potential. **What I grabbed:** An **exotic mix of flowers** -- the last of the bunch, since they'd opened early for the fair and I swung by post-lunch. A few stems, some not-yet-budded beauties, and a *slightly* picked-over selection still ran me **\$56 with tax**. Yes, that stung a bit, but listen -- **tariffs have upped your Mother's Day flowers by 30%**, so don't say I didn't warn you! Still, the bouquet is **thriving in my vase** days later, and I learned a little flower care too (no direct sunlight, y'all -- so off the kitchen counter and onto my coffee table they went). I don't quite understand the fascination of this city with food and drink, since the other reviews claim they can add it. Why? So you all can overstay your welcome in this shot gun style business? Come on now. Let's keep the drinks and food menu for private events and just learn to pack a sandwich people. LOL **Final thought:** With the plant girl aesthetic booming post-COVID, it's no surprise **florists are hip again**. But let's not forget to show the same support to these **mom-and-pop petal pushers** who bring beauty to the block one bouquet at a time.

I love that the menu gives you a recipe to make your bouquet and the prices per stem are also listed so you don't get sticker shock at the end. My Book Club went for a girls day to make bouquets, and we had a blast! They will let you bring your own alcohol and snacks in too. Definitely room for them to grow and offer their own food and beverage selections in the future though to add to the experience.

This location has since moved just down the street into a quaint and historic old home. The master…read moremind behind it all is female-entrepreneur Barbara Drobnick. Have a certain scent in mind? She'll mix it for you right there. Better yet, if your favorite perfume has been discontinued, she can mix it especially for you by foraging through the scent blend databases she has access to. Want a margarita scented bath fizzy? She has it. She made it herself. Looking for extra special, not-your-run-of-the-mill soy candle? She can custom make that for you too - or sniff away at the shelves to pick your favorite. Craving chocolate but not the calories? Try a chocolate fizzy drop, shaped and foil wrapped just like a giant kiss. Or the oatmeal bath cookies packaged in a stack and looking like they just came out of the oven. This is the perfect place to go for wedding and shower gifts, birthdays too! My favorite product? Her all natural insect repellent. Contrary to popular conceptions of the mosquito foiling stuff, this actually smells quite lovely. It reminds me of the lemon Lipton Brisk Iced Tea you used to be able to purchase in cans. I actually use this on my hairless dogs as well with no adverse effect. Best of all? it REALLY works. Contact Barb at Barb@honeygrovebotanicals.com and be sure to say hi to Taco - her chihuahua :) She also is a regular twitterer - follow her to find out shop news and other happenings in Gahanna @HoneyGrove or www.twitter.com/honeygrove Can't make it in? In the corner of the store there is a station where you can fill your own Honey Grove bottle with bath salt or liquid soap. It's like sand art for the grown up...only it smells good. They stock soy candles, relaxation CDs, gift baskets and all the things you need to spoil yourself in the bath. They even have items to pamper the baby. If you know someone who really likes fragrant gifts, this is the place to go.
