Country Primitive Home Decor is our specialty.
You will find country primitive decorator items, wreaths, lawn flags, numerous signs that are tin and wood and braided rugs. Many nice pieces of gently used - vintage furniture also are on hand, some are "shabby chic'd", painted, or just great "old" finds left as found. The furniture selection can vary from week to week. One of a kind finds also are available that are vintage, repurposed or antique. The inventory changes rapidly, so you never know what you may find.
Many items are USA made including Swan Creek Candles that are 100% USA soy, Soy is known for it's clean burning and long burn time properties and with variety of scents that are out of this world. Other USA items include hand made fabric items, barn stars which are Amish made in Kentucky from recycled barn tin and framed prints - many by the folk artist, Billy Jacobs known for his farm scenes, barns, and church paintings.
History
Established in 2005.
The Berry Basket came into existence in 2005, under the business name -The Crafty Lady. Owner Renee' Rose Dunsmore began renting retail space in the Blacklion store inside Opry Mills Mall in Nashville, Tn., while learning the business of buying country primitive decor. The business continued to grow until the Blacklion store was flooded during the historic May 2010 flood which devastated the Nashville and middleTennessee area. After coming to grips of the devastation, Renee' moved into space inside Antiques of Sparta Mall July 2010. Finding a good
location was key. The building where The Berry Basket has found for a home is located in the heart of downtown Sparta, on the corner of W. Bockman Way, (Hwy. 70) and S. Wilson St., directly across from Hardee's at red light #6.
If you love to decorate with "old" vintage, antique items, the new items that The Berry Basket sells will fit perfectly in the same space. Many new items look old or have the vintage country primitive feel.
Meet the Business Owner: Renee D.
Renee' loves "junkin", antiquing, yard selling, flea marketing and is always on the hunt for that unique item to offer to customers that come into the store. Many finds are turned into something totally different from what it's life began. Furniture and other items are painted, shabby chic'd or re-purposed. This process is something that has been learned from just loving the "old" items and wanting to give them a new life.
