It's fine, it's good, I just want to be able to say a little more about a pub.
This place has been plodding on for years, changing hands every few years and generally being pubby.
I've had good and bad food here, some of it being excellent, and when here with my Nanna with particularly awkward dietary requirements, they were really accommodating (without this, and the general wonderfulness of the majority of the staff- you do get a couple of teens who obviously don't want to be seen dead working in a jack rabbit T-shirt- they would be at three stars). The bar is well stocked, and they have a reasonable attempt at gastro pub-ness, it isn;t gastro, it isn't quite your normal pub grub, it's kind of and awkward in between genre of it's own with handmade chicken liver pate and stuff, but it works.
Also, last time I was here, the puddings were huge, so thats a bonus by sugar problem old me! read more
