Stayed here last night and writing this review from the residents lounge. Its a charming hotel situated on Stilton's high street on what was the original A1.
Rooms are fine, clean and functional. Its a little creaky as the building is old so there is a lot of ambient noise.
We ate in the restaurant last night and enjoyed a very nice meal. All homemade and as you might guess the menu featured a lot of Stilton cheese!
I started with pate which was very good. Steak for main cooked just as requested and bread butter pudding for desert. The desert is where the lost star comes in as I'm afraid it was rather dry.
The room rate is 120 pounds b&b and dinner was about 40 pounds each.
If I am around here again I would stay here again no problem. read more
