I arrived in Dublin to find my fresh pedicure was ruined by my sneaks during the flight. Luckily…read morethis beautiful spa is located in my hotel and they were more than accommodating (bonus: they didn't even charge me for polish change). Lisette and Lauren are fantastic. I'm mildly obsessed with their sticker foot coverings in lieu of paper temporary flip flops. Only caveat - for indoor use only. Can't wait to come back for hair and body services.

A luxury spa situated on Stephen's Green just a short walk from all the shops and restaurants…read moreDublin has to offer. Sounds like heaven right? Well, it's pretty close! The Shelbourne Spa is not actually in the hotel, but three doors down to the right. I've never noticed it before as it blends in as one if the big Victorian style houses but it's really easy to find. The spa is actually upstairs but you have full use of the leisure club facilities when using the spa and these are on the ground floor. In terms of decor, it is every bit as elegant as the hotel, with big chandeliers and plush furniture. When you check in you are brought to change into your robe and slippers before being led to the relaxation room which looks over Stephen's Green, which I loved. If I'm honest, I've been in better relaxation rooms, this one was very bright and probably would have been relaxing if it wasn't for a group of really loud talkers. This wasn't the staff's fault but tainted the experience a little for me. In terms of refreshments there was a selection of teas, some small nibbles and water. Also, after your treatment you get a tasting plate of fruit, juice and sorbet. I opted for the 'Tropical' which consisted of pineapple juice, kiwi and coconut sorbet and it was delicious. The highlight for me was the treatment though. I received a gift of the "Celebratory Spa Package" which consisted of an Elemis facial and a hot- stone back massage. Both of these were excellent, the therapist was lovely and spoke me through the products she used afterwards. The one criticism I would have would be that it's quite expensive at €129 for the package which only lasted an hour. I would have expected it to last a little longer at this price. With the excellent staff, treatments and location I would definitely go back, but I think I'd be waiting for a special occasion!

As a restaurateur and someone who suffers with serious stress and rock hard shoulders, there is nobody I would go to faster than Andy to do my massage. Having trained here in Ireland and in New Zealand, she has a wealth of experience behind her and is very client orientated. The new salon is just beautiful, very conveniently located with lots of parking and a little oasis in the heart of Navan. Whether its nails, HD brows, massage (highly recommended) or any beauty treatment you can be absolutely guaranteed super service and excellent treatments. What an amazing place this was for a 2 night stay!!!…read more Our stay included the 5 course dinner and breakfast both mornings, which was sensational. You can also order a less posh dinner (and drinks!) in the bar area, called the Drawing Room. All the food here tasted fresh, was presented beautifully, and the menu was diverse. Our room was phenomenal, complete with decor that complimented the castle's history with modern conveniences like a huge bathtub, heated towel rack, locked safe, and TV/wifi (though we didn't spend a ton of time on electronics because sheesh look outside the window). The estate is GORGEOUS, with a beautiful lake, some ruins of the original abbey nearby and plenty of places inside the castle to explore. It has been thoughtfully renovated to feature period artwork and decor throughout the castle. Most of all I enjoyed the very accommodating staff, who were happy to meet our every need but were "in the shadows" enough for us to explore at our leisure, drinks in hand, and take in all the beauty this place had to offer.

Disappointing customer service and culinary experience, staff were very helpfully initially saying…read morecahnges could be made with courses etc until we ordered 2 different set menus then approx.10 minutes later told us it wasnt possible said chef wouldn't accommodate after being told we could both order off separate menus. Attitude from restaurant manager was quite standoffish and that was the standard. Probably should state on menu or train staff so they know to tell customers in advance of ordering. Then staff kept a wide birth from us for rest of meal unless bringing dishes. To top it off the wrong main course was brought and I couldn't get anyone's attention to confirm so to be honest just ate it as didnt want to have any more interactions with manager. Room was nice with 2 exceptions exposed electrical wires in bathrooms and wallpaper coming of wall under the window. Easy fixes to my mind that should have been taken care off.
