These guys are great! I have purchased quite a few used and new CD's from the over the years. Always fast, never an issues. Recently I bought a Headstones CD and it never showed up. Canada post lost it. Even though it wasn't their fault The Beat Goes On sent me a replacement CD free of charge. I will continue to be a loyal customer! read more

Horrible customer service Expensive movies that I've seen at thrift stores selling for a lot less I won't return to this and their other locations read more

How many stores can you go to nowadays that will give you anything for DVDs, CDs etc, I see complaints on here about pricing compared to thrift stores and it's not a fair comparison, at this beat goes on they buff and clean every disc you buy so condition is almost always perfect and you have a return policy with any issues. They even have a website and you can have an item shipped from any of their locations to the one closest to you saving shipping costs and time hunting for the movie read more

I brought a bag of dvd to sell they offered me less then a dollar a DVD. I refused to sell them the dvd and took my bag home . At the store they packaged my dvd in such a way that I didn't realize the store actually stole 2 of my DVD read more

Fair prices, good policy on purchases/returns. Here on vacation and it was a nice stop at the end of our day! read more

The Beat Goes On - Videos & Video Game Rental Near Me - Burlington, Ontario

Stay on target you have to use the force and it will lead you to come here when the presence is strong. And strong it was for me today when went in just to "browse" and found gems a plenty, for I found a CD a blu Ray 3D of Star Wars rogue one (which was never released in Canada!!!!) AND all 3 original trilogy Star Wars Super Nintendo games!! Like OMG the force lead me here just it has with Luke blowing up the Death Star! Ok now onto the general review of this record shop, great place to find treasures also for finding really cheap prices on cds plus movies. Clean and friendly with decent selection overall with different product. I have yet to bring something in to sell but it's pretty far from home so it's unlikely I will but I appreciate these shops as it's harder to find these places that can attract special items that make you perform a double take. Kudos to you beat goes on and keep surviving! read more

I guess I've bought about a dozen DVDs from this shop over the past little while. Never had any problems with the discs in terms of their condition. Generally, most of the BGO stores are pretty good about the quality / condition of their CDs and I have yet to of returned one as a result of some quality / condition issues. In many ways, the inventory and staff issues ( if any ) at any given BGO location is a on-issue since you can review the inventory of all stores on-line and have any items you want shipped to the store nearest you. Simple. However, if you're just popping in the store to browse around to ' see what's there ' the Burlington store is, well, - just O.K. I've found that a 10 - 15 minute drive to the Oakville store will provide you with a much better selection and size of inventory of CDs and DVDs and overall ' browsing experience ' - though the game selections at both stores are about the same as far as I can tell. I also find the staff at the Oakville store to be a bit more attentive and customer friendly. And as with any BGO stores, you should know your prices before buying. In many many instances, the prices of some used CDs / DVDs are the same - if not more expensive - than the same brand new CDs / DVDs you might find at one of the big box stores or even on line at Amazon or Indigo. Where BGO often comes through and shines is when you're trying to find a dated or obscure item you can't find ' new ' anywhere else. Under those circumstances, BGO can't be beat. read more

Staff service was super slow...didn't seem to care. Offering .99 on Black Sabbath cd's? I think at least 2.50 based on resale.Lowballing not cool. read more

Purchased a Blue Ray disc it didn't work and both the Burlington store and Corporate Headquarters wouldn't help. Very unhelpful staff at both locations. I'll never deal with this "Micky Mouse" joint again! Really disgusted with how they handled my issue! So Buyer Beware of this organization!! read more

One of the better bgo stores but staff is still not very knowledgable and spend too much time talking to each other instead of taking care of customers. Quality of discs is very questionable. I have returned a few. Prices are often the same as new! Selection at this location is much better than the others. Never order from their website -- only go into store where you can review quality of item yourself. read more

This is a review of TBGO stores, in general, not one particular store. I have tried to sell them my DVD movies 3 separate times. On average, they offer you about $0.50 per DVD movie. They also refuse to buy about 70% of the movies you bring them, so by the time you add in rejections and driving to and from the stores to deal to them, you essentially would be just as well off throwing your DVD movies in the trash. Really, you don't make any money when you bring them 20 movies, they offer to buy 7 of them, and they pay you $3.50 for all 7 in total. If you live 5 km from the store, that's a 10km to make $3.50. Factor in your travel cost and you essentially just gave them the DVDs without making even $1 in take home benefit. Much better to sell on Ebay. You can sell movies for $6 to $10 and you can walk away with $2 - $5 in profit per movie after you mail them and pay Ebay fees. Sell 20 movies on Ebay and you might have $65 in your pocket. Take those same movies to TBGO and after all is said and done, you might have $1 - $2 in total to show for it, if you are lucky. read more

I suggest to anyone reading this to avoid their online system like the plague. The issue here is the company on the whole whom employs at the time of writing this, a jerk of a "Distribution Manager" that completely ruined our experience of purchasing around a dozen cd's with piss poor customer service and unnecessary attitude to the point of complete uncomfortably where we requested a full refund and escalation to report the manager. Our money will gladly go towards the online/digital file format for this content vs. making an effort to support a company whom sells cd format which is by no means a popular sell. With no response all afternoon after requesting upper management response, we will simply leave negative feedback. Way to ruin an experience, Beat Goes On Corporate! read more

meh. it's kind of a broken record. more like a single rather than an anthology - in terms of pricing and selection.

I am extremely satisfied with the Beat Goes On in Burlington. The DVDs that I buy there are ALWAYS in great shape. You know for sure that you are not going to get anything that will skip or not play. The staff are excellent with their service, very friendly and very efficient, always trying to help and put you as a customer first, before doing some of the other chores in the store. If they dont have it, they will do their best to watch out for it. Great prices too. We have become frequent customers there and will continue to do so. read more
