We walked there from Porth and thought it would be an ideal place to eat, having had a drink there the day before. Overall the experience was a little disappointing.
The service was great, we did not have a reservation (you should make one if you want to eat here as it is always busy) and they did a nice job finding us a place. Overall the service was prompt and friendly even though it was quite busy.
The real disappointment was the menu. Very little to choose from (less choice than we had in the local pubs) and not that imaginative. In the end we had the chicken burger (smothered in way too much mayonnaise - hiding how dry it was), regular burger (also quite dry), the fish and chips ( which was done well - but if you can't make that decently...) and the spaghetti with crab - which was the best of them all.
I think the most disappointing was the price for the wine, we paid a ridiculous amount per glass for wine that was not that great. We should have said something but we felt too disappointed to make a fuss.
It's an okay place to have a drink and snack, but they need to increase the variety and find a better balance between cooking and use of sauces to achieve better quality. read more
