A truly incredible experience! I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about The Barrax! I walked into The Barrax having never held a firearm in my life. To say I was a little intimidated would be an understatement. During my baseline assessment, I completely missed the target. I figured, well... this is going to be interesting! But then something amazing happened. Greg took the time to teach me one skill at a time, using instructions that were clear, simple, and easy to understand. After each instruction, I would demonstrate what I had just learned, and he would build from there. There was never any pressure, intimidation, or expectation that I should already know what I was doing. On my very next target, I made every shot. And continued to w dry target thereafter, including moving targets! I was completely shocked by how quickly I went from "I can't even hit the target" to "Wait... I actually did that!" What impressed me most wasn't just the technology or the training itself - it was the instructors. Julie, Greg, and Eric are absolutely amazing people. They are patient, knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping you learn and improve. They created an environment where a complete beginner like me felt comfortable, capable, and excited to keep learning. And The Barrax isn't just for beginners. Their training goes from foundational skills all the way to significantly more advanced, real-world training, including simulation, live fire, force-on-force, and specialty courses. Their approach goes far beyond simply standing in front of a paper target. As someone who never imagined I'd be saying this, I left The Barrax feeling confident, empowered, and genuinely excited to go back. If you've ever thought, "I've never done this before, so maybe this isn't for me," GO. That's exactly why you should try it. I cannot recommend The Barrax, Julie, Greg, and Eric highly enough. Five stars doesn't feel like enough! read more

I grew up in Texas... but I have learned more about firearms, technique, defense and shooting in the last 30 days than I have in my whole life. Eric and Greg are beyond patient, kind, engaging and informative. Eric has taken the time with me each class to ensure I feel confident and equipped in each skill he instructs. The monthly membership is the easiest and greatest investment of my money that I've made and I could NOT recommend going to the Barrax more. I get SO excited for my classes and have been telling all my friends about it - because everyone in Nashville should take advantage of learning from the best instructors. After taking several simulator classes (no ammo), I went out to the range yesterday for Live Fire. Eric, Jerome, Greg and Julie helped me every step of the way, encouraged me, and I left feeling so confident and excited to keep working on my skill. If you're interested, skilled, never touched a gun in your life, intimidated by them or wanting to learn to protect yourself/your family, The Barrax is the best environment and place you could go! read more

Eric and his team did a great job instructing students that range from different skill levels. His ability to monitor students in the moment makes it so he can tailor the task to help improve in the skill or concept or to push further. From the beginning of the class to the end I was pushed to be better and given rationale for why. I would recommend "The Barrox" to anyone who wants to take their shooting skills to the next level. Eric can get you there. GHT- read more

incredible team doing incredible work! I don't have a lot of experience around guns. Eric, Julie & Greg make it easy to understand and are encouraging as you learn these important skills. And they can adapt their training to match whatever level of student comes through the door. Cannot recommend highly enough! read more
