I heard everyone uses them because they are the best. I ordered a load of mulch from them and I was not disappointed. The delivery driver was great, and surprised me by being a half hour early. Although I ordered 5 yards, the truck delivered considerably more mulch. The driver told me they want the customer to be happy. The guys at the desk are normally pretty quiet. I've never had a problem with them. I've came with other companies and now my own and I tell you what I never have a problem dumping my wood chips or my logs or my brush and there is plenty of space for turning around if you have a chip truck and you could not drop the chipper anywhere.. good spot and they are not trying to take your head off. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. They're rude and disrespectful to customers. The guy who handles the ordering and payment transactions is cool, but the one loader operator guy, a larger man with glasses, is a real jerk. He runs his mouth a lot and I noticed him cursing at a customer who had questions. It's a shame that he is the final point of contact there because he's just adding insult to injury. Not to mention, they're short on the delivery wherein they're not even giving their customers the correct amount of material, especially that foul loudmouth loader operator. I know this because I compared it to another material order I had placed with a different landscaping supply company. I saw the other review and I must step in here to say this is one of the best run companies I have dealt with as a contractor. The other guy must be a homeowner. I have never once had a problem with these guys. The supply yard is very neat and organized. Their delivery are affordable and punctual. They have an excellent selection of products. It is very easy to get big trucks in and out of this place. I have been going here for the past 8 years and will continue to buy from this company. Pricing is some of the best rates in Pittsburgh. Don't boycott because the last guy who gives the barn $80 in business a year was unhappy. I spend about 10k/year here and never once had a problem. Guys like this other place are not the ones keeping them in business. I am sure if you go an bad mouth people your experience with this company about your stupidity of rocks- all of your friends will think you are stupid too. read more

I ordered fancy River Rock from the barn Landscape supply and it had a ridiculous amount of limestone in it. I understand that when you scoop up rocks above a limestone parking lot, you will definitely get some limestone in the mix, but the amount I received was way beyond a couple handfuls. I'd estimate 2 cubic feet at least. It now just looks bad in the planting bed I put it in. I'm pretty upset about it. The rest of the rock, however, did turn out nicely. read more

Purchased a couple of tons of stone for private property. Staff act like you are inconveniencing them when ordering, and condescending attitude when asking product questions. It's just rocks buddy, not the Big Bang theory. And delivery driver really made simple 5 minute dump, major process. I'll pay the extra few dollars and go around the corner for supplies in future. Shiny trucks don't replace customer service. read more

I've been past this place so many times over the years -- finally, it was time for more gravel (my father used to call it "slag" but, alas, that was a by-product of the steelmaking process). I went down to order it, and they happened to be able to deliver it the next afternoon. The driver, Ed, could not have been nicer. He arrived early with a full truck -- 7 tons. It turned out to not be nearly enough. I was lucky -- other people had canceled for the day, probably because it was raining. So, he was able to get two more full truck loads for a total of 21 tons. He "tailgated" the loads, spreading it and in the process saving me "tons" (or "loads"?) of work! He took his time and gave the work a lot of care, for which I am very grateful. For the final load, he took time to dump two piles close to where I could spread it more easily. I could not be more pleased with the experience. Highly recommended. read more
