They refuse to serve me and my friend and we have walked in multiple times and there is always a excuse I haven't got to experience this so called family friendly place it feels almost like a racism thing. I don't like to play that card but hey it's the world we live in. read more

I ordered the fish and shrimp. It states that it comes with 4 fish filets, and 4 shrimp with 2 sides. Since saying 4 shrimp, we would assume they're of average size. My niece had the 6 grilled shrimp and same issue. We asked about the size of the shrimp and our waitress got another person. This was Meredith, she informed us that it is the same shrimp they have served for years and she still had to charge us for it. We never asked to not be charged. She then said she would call the manager and stormed off (yelling and having a fit). The manager who was at home then comes in angry and tells us that Meredith was only rude to us because we were rude first. Don't go here. I have posted pictures to show size of shrimp. The attitudes were ridiculous. When we only were not happy with the size of the shrimp, they were so mad. Never once did they ask how they could fix the issue, or offer an apology for not meeting expectations. It was horrible. read more

Homemade food, fresh and served hot and yummy. Homemade pie that is truly homemade and doesn't have a mass produced pie shell. Be sure to leave room for it. All priced very reasonable and friendly down home atmosphere. Worth going out of the way for, but right off the highway. Go and enjoy. read more

Great Little Country Diner! Simple, home cooked food! The sweet potato fries were to die for! Shrimp poboy was good (about 5"), ask for your shrimp to be fried a little bit more if you like them crunchy.. Mac'n Cheese was old fashioned topped with black pepper... Found great keto option, got Philly cheesesteak (no bread) and a salad from salad bar.. Had great display of homemade cakes you can purchase.. Definitely worth the stop.. Does take a while to order and get your food though. Small operation so don't be in a hurry, y'all c'mon in and make yourself comfortable! **Also, gift shop outside with lots of solar yard decor and candles/ jewelry inside.. read more

I drive by this place quite often, but have never stopped until today. My dad told me they make the best club sandwich he's ever had. However, I opted for the Philly Cheesesteak. It was good. Been to the Barn three times, and each time we enjoyed it less. Friendly staff, but of course everyone in Columbia always is. Food was pretty good the first time, not so good the second time, and let's not even discuss the third time. Well let's just discuss one item. The wife ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. It came with this little scrawny dried up piece of something. It was terrible. Oh, and if are still thinking about trying the Barn, be sure to bring some extra money, as this has to be the most overpriced restaurant in Columbia. read more

This palce has been open for years but in the past few years it's been taken over by new owners and they basically redone everything and it's much nicer now. Since the new owners have acquired The Barn, the food has had its ups and downs and I'm not sure if it's new cooks or what but I have went and absolutely loved it and a few months later go back and be disappointed...the last time I went I got the shrimp poboy and it was a decent amount of food and was cooked right. I'll update when I go back. BTW this place has a really rustic feel to it and everyone falls in love with the bathrooms lol. read more

Really great home-style cooking! However, I didn't like the chicken strips when I got them to-go. They get soggy. The owner is also a bit rude, I think her name is Susie? (Blonde Curly-haired) I find it crazy how she treated me differently than someone I know, she was really rude to me, but super sweet to the friend!! Anyways, the Chef Salad is amazing, and the Burgers are good too. I've gotten the grilled (or blackened) fish before, and it wasn't that great, but it's ok. read more

I showed up here for supper on a Monday night around 7:15. There were plenty of empty tables so we were seated right away. Our waitress was brand new since it was her first night, but she worked real hard to get everything right and was appropriately friendly. I ordered Chocolate Milk and a bowl of Frito Chili Pie. The waitress asked how I wanted my Chili, so I told her I like cheese and green onions, but I wish I would've thought to add a dollop of sour cream too. When they brought it, I thought the Chili was too strong so I asked for extra Fritos to sorta dilute it and they gave me more than enough extra, and then I thought it tasted good. The bowl was quite large and I wasn't very hungry after sipping on my milk, so I couldn't even eat half of it. When I ate the leftovers, I actually thought it tasted better because it seemed the Chili had mellowed somewhat. The milk was delicious and the glass they brought the milk in was gigantic in comparison to most places since it was larger than even a standard size water glass. The name has been changed to The Barn. This restaurant has a very "homey" feel to it. There is a lot of great food to choose from. The hamburgers are my absolute favorite. I get the bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños and curly Q's. For dessert we get the apple tart which is heavenly! It comes with vanilla ice cream on top. The service is great and the waitresses are very nice and attentive. The decor is a little dated but it is rustic and has a country feel. This is one of mine and my finance's favorite places to eat in Columbia and is overall a great restaurant! I highly recommend it. read more

Great local restaurant if you are looking for a comfortable, sit-down meal. The restaurant has come under new management lately and was also completely renovated. The restaurant is amazingly clean, looks great and the food is still great (especially the burgers). The only complaint is the slower (but very nice) service for which I deducted one star. read more
