Long Review: I've been to a number of different hair salons across the Niagara Region looking for somebody who has the skill to work with my rather difficult head of hair. One time, I was asked to be a hair model and be cut by 'pro's from new york' at a different big name Salon in the region only to end up with a haircut that looked bad and didn't suit me at all. Disenchanted with salons, I gave up for a long time and just went to regular barber shops to get standard issue, boring haircuts. I was told by a number of people to see Vito at his newly opened salon in Thorold called Vanity and today, I went in and was blown away at the incredible attention to detail, professionalism, eye for trends and welcoming atmosphere of Vito and the rest of the staff at Vanity Salon. They've won me over as a customer and I will definitely recommend Vanity to all of my friends.

I find it highly unprofessional to not tell me this ahead of time, and only inform me when I have already arrived and sat down to get my hair cut. What's worse, I paid the full price for the head stylist--whom I had specifically requested--despite receiving service primarily from an apprentice. I showed photos of the bangs I wanted, but the result looked nothing like my reference images and looked bad overall - they were choppy, and were nothing like the curtain bang style I had shown her. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the stylist's response was deeply unprofessional. Rather than addressing my concerns, she became defensive, claiming that "nobody has ever made her feel this bad" and that I was "hurting her feelings." She shifted blame to me, saying I wasn't "helping her understand" what was wrong, despite my clear communication. She said she thinks my hair looks great, dismissing my opinion and feelings. The stylist made a lot of excuses that were irrelevant. Throughout this interaction, she made me feel very guilty and uncomfortable for simply expressing that I was unhappy with the service I paid for. Most concerning, she also took photos of my face and hair "just for her" without asking for my consent, which felt invasive and unprofessional. Additionally, my haircut overall is uneven. I cannot recommend a salon that switches stylists without notice, charges full price for a senior stylist while providing an apprentice, and responds to customer feedback with emotional manipulation rather than professionalism and a willingness to make things right.

I had a bad experience with bleaching before I went to him and he used gentle products and eased me into the colour I wanted, silver! With him I have been platinum blonde, basically white, and silver. My silver colour held so well and I kept it for years. After my roots had grown out so long during quarantining this year, I decided to embrace my natural stawberry/dirty blonde colour for a while. The colour match Tim did was so accurate I couldn't tell my roots from the dyed hair. Also, Tim is just a great person to be around and to talk to, joke around with, or even have a heart to heart. He's very honest and I think that is a very important quality in someone your trusting you hair with!
