Rana is wonderful. She's friendly polite and knows how to cut ladies hair. Second time there today and won't be my last.

I would not recommend this place. I told them what i wanted and i asked the price. After they the service they asked for a much higher price for the same service. But, as a customer, how do you prove this?! I paid the new price but this was a terrible and terrifying experience. read more

My go to barber fills up quickly and if I don't book him in advance I'm usually left scrambling before an event to find somewhere that can come close to his skills when it comes to cutting my hair. Thus, I arrived here. Reading the Yelp reviews, I felt rest assured that someone here would be able to at least come close to the cut and expertise I have become a accustomed to from my barber of choice. Upon walking in, the receptionist told me to take a seat & the next available barber would be with me. I asked if anyone working was able to do a bald fade. She looked at me as if I was an extra terrestrial and said she had no idea what that was. Ummmm, probably one of the most popular cuts a man can get in the last 5 years, but cool, you're not a barber. I get it. I'll take a seat. I waited for approximately 10 mins and was greeted by Eddie. I asked if he knew what a bald fade was and he laughed, reassuring me I was in good hands. The cut - first thing first was the wash. Then Eddie asked me what exactly I wanted. I told him and he began chopping away. He faded my sides and rear of my head from a zero to a 1 seamlessly. Took his time, spending just over an hour on my entire cut. Very very professional and skillful in what he does. A refreshing blow dry and straight blade for the stubble and we were done. I will definitely be back here. A great alternative for me, with the potential to perhaps become my new go to barbershop. read more

The Barber Shop - Barbers Near Me - Markham, Ontario

Had a really great haircut here! I usually wait to go to NYC and get it cut, but with the weather I haven't had a chance The barbers here know what they are doing! I got a really nice fade and a razor cut ( I have longer hair) I was really impressed with the style and how fast my hairdresser was. Only thing I didn't like was that my hairline on my forehead was shaved to give it a "straight" edge look, but it's grown out now. Haircuts are $25 and there's a one time use coupon for $5 on the website! read more

I had the worst haircut of my life here. Hate this place down to the core. It's busy, the people there have favourites, and just overall... terrible for the cost. Its way too expensive for a terrible haircut. read more

Big changes. My last couple of visits to Amir where not up to the standards he set during my first several visits. For that reason I decided to visit my good friends in downtown Toronto @ A Rockafellas Social Club. They are top shelf stylists/artists which will aways be my first choice for hair care. Unfortunatley, the distance (I live in Stouffville) & my busy sched (young kids & own business)makes it diff to see them. So I went back to The Barber Shop to give Amir another shot. To my surprise, he was no longer there. I read another review that recommended Eddie, so I booked in with him. Excellent cut & overall experience from start to finish. He's the New MAN to see there. Keep it up! read more

I am visiting Toronto for a few weeks and my long hair was starting to bother me in the summer heat so I decided to take the chance and try a barber abroad. Overall, it was great! My only complaint was that I got a blocked nape instead of a tapered nape, but it was partially my fault for not asking, I'm just used to every barber opting for a tapered nape. I've read that blocked napes are supposed to make your neck look thicker, so Dominic (the barber) must have thought I had a chicken neck (joking)! Besides that, Dominic took off so much weight and my cut looked exactly as I wanted it and he worked with my hair the way it was. I also came on a Monday and it was convenient that it was open at that time when most barber shops are closed or have limited hours. For $30($5 tip) it was worth it, might shop around next time though but I would not hesitate to come back here again if I had to. read more

Even though it's called the Barber Shop, they do provide services for women as well. I used to get my face threaded with Rana here when I still lived in the area. She was very efficient and thorough and I found the price to be very reasonable for the service. read more

Living in Unionville for most of my life, I came here for the first time for haircut. Asked for a pompadour, however the lady who cut my hair didnt know what it is, had to show her pictures. Haircut turned out okay but will stick to my other barber instead. read more

Not the best. I will say the cut is professional and looks good. But I didn't get my wash because it was close to the end of the day? Ended up paying $32 including the tip...not really worth it. Will try Gatsby next time when I'm at Markville. read more

Very disappointed in the service from The Barber Shop. I had arrived for a walk-in and simply wanted a fade and a line up. I was told they didn't know how long I would have to wait and told me to come back in "a while". When I returned after 40 minutes, a middle aged woman was in the middle of cutting someone else's hair, stopped what she was doing, and hurried me into another chair. She asked me twice what I wanted done to my hair but chose to ignore it both times. Instead of a fade she buzzed it all the way down and didn't even bother to line it up. The whole thing took under five minutes and was the most unprofessional barber shop experience I have ever received. She wanted a quick buck from a customer and didn't do a very good job. Don't go here if you want your barber to actually listen to you and provide good service. I still had to pay $20 at the end of it. I'm never coming back. read more

Dishonest shop. Went for a cut but didn't get a wash. While paying, I saw the sign saying the $25 would include a wash. Where was the wash?

Always great service and more importantly a great haircut. I always have Aziz who does a great job. My young son has Oliver who also does a great job and is really good with the with kids. Some people seem to moan about the $25 price point but I think it's worth every cent. read more

barber there named sam couldn't follow simple instructions i showed him a picture of my previous haircuts asked him several times if he was able to cut my hair that way and he confidently said yes many times , in the end he messed up my cut asked for a fade didn't get no fade , highly do not recommend this place read more

Went and got my haircut by Eddie and....honestly...was the worst haircut I've ever had in my life. I'd caution others from choosing another place in Markham to cut their hair. read more

I was reluctant to come here because I thought hair places at a mall would be overpriced and give generic haircuts, but I was nearby and had few other options. It was a great surprise when I got the best haircut of my life (at that point; since then I've gotten better from this place). It's even better for fades than a lot of the hyped up places downtown which are always busy. Amir is really talented. The other guys there seem to put out good work too. read more

Oliver cuts a nice tight fade, too bad they don't know how to keep appointments - i.e. When i make one and call to confirm only to be told that I haven't got one? What a joke. read more

I told the guy (I believe his name was Amir) to use clippers size 3 and BLEND it towards the top. Instead he literally used the clippers to cut my hair the same length all around from the sides to the back. Now my sides and back are size 3 clippers and the top is long, therefore my hair is disconnected. I didn't ask for a disconnect, I asked for it to be BLENDED!!! I didn't realize what he did until I got home and took a closer look in the mirror, I made the mistake of not wearing glasses that day and now I'll regret it for the next month. It didn't help the fact that he took 30minutes to cut my hair and did it completely wrong. I just hope he gets proper training or atlases double checks with the customer next time, the hair cut turned out not too bad but not what I wanted. read more

Would have made this a 4 star, but todays experience turned me a little off. My boyfriend and i live about 30-45 mins away from markville mall. We only come back for Aziz. He is well experienced in fading hair. My boyfriend only trusts his skills. This morning however we had an appointment right at 11(when they open) not sure if the woman is the owner or runs the place, but she was very unwelcoming compared to the red head receptionist who is usually there. The woman saw us standing there but walks away. She only came close to us to answer the phone, but even then we weren't acknowledged. Still, she went back and forth with the call, looks at us and runs her hands through her hair and continues to ignore us.11:08 Aziz shows up and welcomes us and shows my boyfriend to his chair. Im sad that the red head receptionist isnt there, shes always so pleasant and welcoming. If it werent for Aziz and the receptionist, i wouldve rated this a 1 star : / seems everyone is welcoming but her. If she does run the business, she needs better training in hospitality.. read more
