They so thoroughly enjoy what they do and that simply makes it impossible for you not to enjoy their music! From the very first email I exchanged with Solange she was unbelievably kind, patient, and very on top of things (which, trust me on this, is exactly what you want in all your wedding vendors). She proactively reached out at every turn to make sure she was 100% certain she knew the exact timeline of all of the day's events so that everything could run smoothly. And it did! Aside from being a wonderful person to work with, and an INCREDIBLE vocalist, Solange's joy is infectious so if you're looking for all the right vibes on your big day, Hip Control is the right choice! She even coordinated with the band to have them learn a song my dad wrote me 20 year ago and play it as a surprise father daughter dance. As for the rest of the band? Good luck keeping your jaw off the floor as they crush killer guitar solos, harmonize like angels and hit 5 key changes in Love On Top. The only thing I could say at the end of the night was "we're not worthy!!!" and two weeks later, that's still exactly how I feel!

Musically, they are amazingly tight and sound incredible. what sealed it for me was their versatility. they did latin authentically and of course pop/dance/rock/ballads perfectly. i would highly highly recommend them for events. The owner of the…read morebusiness, Bill Boettcher, told me less than 48 hours before my event that he would be sending a substitute when all along I was told it would be he at my event. All during the time before my event he was extremely difficult to reach but I let it go because my primary music was to be through the live band, who was fantastic. But there were reasons I also wanted a DJ and my reasons turned out to be valid. The DJ Bill ultimately sent was ok. the music was fine and really there was nothing in particular I needed to have the DJ do or to discuss with him so no complaints. But the motivator, as sweet as could be, did not seem to know her job. I had to tell her when to give out items and if I hadn't told her we would still be waiting. Only during the last hour did she do any kind of interaction with the kids. There were no games as I had been told there would be and items that were specifically ordered for my event, I never saw. All of this didn't leave me thrilled, but the worst was that I wrote to Bill after the event and let him know I just wanted to talk to him. I wasn't going to make too big a deal of it but I thought maybe the motivator was new and simply needed some guidance. I didn't hear back for a week and when I wrote again, I received a rather rude response admonishing me for not being more patient. He didn't like some of what I wrote in my second e-mail (which did indicate I was upset he hadn't responded yet)and indicated that was the only reason he was responding despite being so busy. Had he only written originally and asked me to wait until things quieted down I wouldn't be writing this. But he stated right out that he only responded to me because something upset him. Yet he didn't feel it important enough to answer me when I was upset, didn't feel it important enough to make sure things had gone well, and overall didn't think it important enough to provide good customer service. I don't know if things would have been better with a different motivator and if the owner had done my event, as originally planned. But he (Bill, the owner) is extremely difficult to reach when things are going well, and pretty much not at all unless he feels it is important. I would not use this company again.

They coordinated a few custom songs that we requested and played during our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Throughout the planning process Charles was always there to answer questions and offer suggestions. We have heard so many rave reviews from our friends and family that it was an unforgettable band with the best music. We could not have asked for a more perfect band to play our wedding and will be recommending the Cool Rulers to all of our friends! From our first phone call, when Charles explained the band's background and we discovered a mutual love of Hailu Mergia, I knew this band would get what we were after: a great time, with a little something special and unusual. The band invited us and several couples to attend a practice set, which they absolutely blew through, and we hired them shortly afterwards. Working with the band was straightforward: Charles took point on communication, asking what we liked, helping us pick the right number of band members (we chose 8, which was perfect for our venue), and sending us a song list to mark our must-plays and don't-plays. He also suggested an Afrobeat cocktail hour, a special talent of this band, which was so fun -- we highly recommend this option! My wife and I wrote our own ceremony, including several weird music cues that the band nailed perfectly, even learning a song for our processional. Charles attended our venue walkthrough and rehearsal to practice these cues, even though the band had another gig that evening. And the band provided sound equipment for the ceremony itself, which worked flawlessly -- unlike many weddings I have attended, in our ceremony, there were no microphone issues. When it was time to dance, the band absolutely destroyed their two sets. Many, many of our guests commented that this was the best band they'd ever heard, not just at a wedding but at any event, and asked for details to hire them. They also sounded fantastic, with great levels and control -- they were never overpowering or too loud to hold a conversation, but they were energetic enough to keep everyone moving. In fact, one of my favorite memories of the whole day was being on the dance floor, looking to the dinner tables, and realizing that every single seat was empty. The Cool Rulers had every single guest on the floor, almost two hours into their performance! I've never seen this at a wedding, and I was so proud to have it happen at ours. The Cool Rulers live up to their name: they are very cool, and they do rule. Stop looking now, and hire this band.

Bob was easy to communicate with and answered all of our questions promptly. We booked the Metropolis band, and we were blown away. Metropolis consists of some of the most talented musicians and masters at their craft. - they are rockstars and threw us the party of a lifetime! During the reception, the band kept everyone on their feet all night! Every member of Metropolis has incredible talent. They performed every song, including our requested songs with energy and passion. We loved that they interacted with the crowd and they truly seemed like they were enjoying every minute of it. We loved their plan for the flow of the evening, which maximized the time on the dance floor - we've attended other weddings where this was not the case, and it was very noticeable! So many of our guests raved about how good the band was, and have asked for their information to recommend them for future weddings - everyone enjoyed themselves so much and all of our guests were out on the dance floor all night. Our guests were raving about the band for days after our wedding and we definitely recommend them to anyone. We truly did not want the night to end, just so we could continue dancing and partying with Metropolis. And a bad band can make things go sour pretty quickly as well. Fortunately for the wedding I attended this weekend, Scott Yanney Band (which apparently is one of the featured bands of Faze 4 entertainment) is one of the good ones. They had everyone on the dance floor within seconds (then again, they had a fun crowd to work with- my new family!) and we didn't stop shaking our booties all night long. From my first meeting with the owner, David, I was impressed. David was professional, kind, engaging, and took the time to explain how his team works and answered any questions I had. We decided to book In The Mix to manage our ceremony and reception music, photo booth, and wedding Gobo. When we got closer to the wedding, we had a meeting with their coordinator, Phil, who we worked with to create the run of show for our ceremony and reception and finalize our music selections. Phil was phenomenal and was our point of contact leading up to the wedding. He was responsive, accommodating, and even managed to fit in some last-minute changes to our wedding song and "must play" list. On the day of our wedding, everything was flawless. Our DJ, Elton, was wonderful, and our MC, Rob, was fun, engaging, and really knew how to keep our guests excited and dancing. After having a DJ scheduled for well over a year for my daughter's wedding on October 30, 2021, we…read morewere notified about 2 months prior to the event that he was not going to be available for our event for a personal reason, but he passed us along to Harry McCloskey and his In-The-Mix Entertainment Group. A bit miffed and concerned we had our initial meeting with Harry. He put us immediately at ease and worked with my rattled daughter to calm her concerns and quickly make us realize that everything happens for a reason. Harry assigned Billy (as the emcee) and Joel (as DJ) to our event. After a few more calls with Billy and the team, all details were worked out and we were ready for the big day. Fast forward to the reception, to say that Billy and Joel were professional, is an understatement. They were friendly and personable, very adept at reading the room and kept our guests engaged for the entire 4.5 hour reception. Once the dance floor was open, I can honestly say that at no point was there a lull in the excitement. The dance floor was PACKED all night long. To a person, my guests all LOVED the entertainment, with many asking for business cards for (hopefully) future use. We have heard from many of our guests after the event and all had glowing reviews. Most saying it was the best wedding they had ever attended, with a large part of that being the entertainment. As we all know, a good DJ / emcee can make or break an event. In this case Billy and Joel made me look like a genius for choosing them to DJ our event. In fact, we had all gratuity envelopes prepared prior to the event, so I handed them out at the conclusion of the event.
