Dundee's resident 'alternative' club has been going for years! I believe it's recently undergone new management who are promising to update and better the place.
As it stands just now, the pub's not bad. It's far too hot, really quite small, has the worst girls toilets ever but I don't half love it! It's a great bar to meet likemided people (largely because you're squashed up against each other and it would be rude not to introduce yourself!) It's pretty central location means it's a fantastic starting point for those heavy nights out.
Drinks and food are cheap, nothing AMAZING but decent pub grub all the same. There's a 'jukebox' behind the bar for you to request your favourite songs, and occassionally they might actually get played. The Balcony is essential to the Dundee scene and holds regular gigs for both local and touring bands. It's definitely worth going to! read more
