Although The Baker looks like a bed and breakfast, they call it a hotel... a self-service hotel perhaps. Hubby and I arrived and found street parking next to building. Despite using the code that was emailed to us, we could not open the front door. I called the contact number and was sent an alternate code that worked. We stayed on in the Turret Suite on the third floor. Our emailed code worked to open the room lock. The room was clean and spacious. The pro of the room is the drinks and snacks provided, but unfortunately, there was a lot more misses: - The Turret bathroom looked like it fit into the period style with a claw foot tub, but it was not easy to use. The flimsy pipes made for turning on the tub difficult. Soap and shampoo was on a table two feet away from the tub. The raised claw foot tub made for a dangerous slippery situation to reach for soap and to get in and out of the tub even with a grab bar. - The toilet comes with old plumbing. Make sure to flush twice, if not three times, as it lacks flushing water pressure. - There are no side tables next to the bed, so phones and other personal items lands on the windowsill away from the bed. - Two huge lamps hung over the bed that we had to move to avoid head bumps. - The windows faced the street, but the slatted window blinds made for a bright room to sleep. The house was clean and we were able to use the common sitting areas downstairs. It would have been nice, especially for the price point, to have a pot of fresh coffee available in the huge kitchen downstairs or even fresh cookies or other baked treats. Heck, for the price, breakfast should have been served since they have a huge unused dining room. read more

Such a cute place! We only came for one night and were with a group. The walls are very thin as you would expect with an old house. They have provided you with a lot of cute amenities like local beers, little snacks, k cups, and makeup remover wipes. Very well maintained and decorated. We stayed in the room with the detached bathroom which was smaller but still had everything we needed. read more

My two night short stay here was nice. My assign room was nice and comfortable. The Airbnb is located in a really nice area. I didn't get to walk around after work. The one think I didn't care for is the inconvenient of leaving your room to get to your own personal restroom across from your room. Each doors has it own code to enter. We get complimentary drinks like water, soft drinks, local beers and snacks. They provide the robe, iron and even a sound machine to sooth you to sleep. Keep in mind that this place has no elevator so you will have to carry it up the beautiful stairway. My first day, a very nice tiny lady helped me with my huge luggage and I found out that she's the owner of the Airbnb. All the room was booked but I hardly hear noise. I had a great stay. Highly recommend anyone who looking for a place to stay. I travel alone to work and I felt perfectly safe while staying here. read more

The owners & staff have thought of every detail. My pup and I stayed in the cottage and were greeted by local beers & snacks when we walked in. There's a dog bed, pack-n-play in the closest and even a travel steamer (score!). The location literally can't be beat. It's right next door to several local bars, an established Italian restaurant and a cafe. It's walking distance from the ballpark and you can easily walk or scooter across the river. But most of the time I was content to just stay in the cottage because it felt like a getaway. It was so comfy & peaceful - my dog didn't act like he normally does at hotels because it was home-y (there's even a nice size yard on property). Will come back! read more

The Baker is a fantastic little hotel. I've stayed in 2 rooms and they were both unique, comfortable, and full of character. They each have a refrigerator with snacks, drinks, coffee, and a few local beers. The common areas are comfortable & beautifully decorated. The communication beforehand was great and the check-in process was very easy. There were multiple great places to eat and drink within walking distance. The Baker makes for a fantastic staycation or home base when visiting Little Rock. read more

Needed to find an impromptu place to stay as a half way point on our way home and wanted to avoid the corporate hotel experience. My wife found the Baker online and what a gem. Nathan was extremely helpful on the phone and sent us our entry codes via email which made it very easy to arrive and get to our room quickly. He also sent us some great restaurant recommendations. The Baker is awesome! I am a solo traveler making a (necessary) road trip during COVID, and my stay overnight at The Baker was lovely. There was a little learning curve figuring out parking and how the door locks with contact-less check in worked, but Nathan was very quick to answer texts! The hotel was a little small inside, but only because the rooms are so spacious! At least my room - The Turret Room - was. I felt good about safety and cleanliness, and thanks to the refreshments available in the minibar and the wipes/hand sanitizer in the room; I was actually able to relax and enjoy a comfortable night's sleep. Looking forward to staying here again on my return trip home. read more

I usually stay in hotels when I travel but came across The Baker home when I was searching for lodging for my work trip to Little Rock and I am so glad I did! What a gorgeous home within walking distance to restaurants and local bars. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by the house keeper who offered some great dinner recommendations. I stayed in the magnolia room which was spacious, clean and comfortable. The walls are a little thin and I could hear some of the other guests but nothing unreasonable. The room had a nice minibar and the best batch of homemade trail mix. I look forward to the next time I'm in Little Rock. I already know exactly where I'll be staying. read more

What a beautifully renovated historic house! We stayed in the Cozy Corner suite and loved everything from the claw foot tub to the lovely details in the architecture. We received a warm welcome from Stacy on arrival. Comfy bed and pillows were a plus! Every amenity was provided, including a pocket steamer to straighten out the suitcase wrinkles in my shirt. Location was convenient and the free trolly service right outside the door took us across the river to Little Rock to explore the park and grab dinner at Samantha's Tap Room and Grill (best grilled artichoke we've ever had). One word of caution to those over 5ft tall; as the name implies it is a cozy room with short ceilings and door ways, but that is part of the charm. My 5 11" husband was afraid of bonking his head when he walked around but I was fine (5ft). We stopped by Mugs cafe on our way out for a coffee and breakfast-very tasty. We highly recommend staying at The Baker any time you visit or drive through North Little Rock! read more
