Despite using the code that was emailed to us, we could not open the front door. I called the contact number and was sent an alternate code that worked. We stayed on in the Turret Suite on the third floor. Our emailed code worked to open the room lock. The room was clean and spacious. The pro of the room is the drinks and snacks provided, but unfortunately, there was a lot more misses: - The Turret bathroom looked like it fit into the period style with a claw foot tub, but it was not easy to use. The flimsy pipes made for turning on the tub difficult. Soap and shampoo was on a table two feet away from the tub. The raised claw foot tub made for a dangerous slippery situation to reach for soap and to get in and out of the tub even with a grab bar. - The toilet comes with old plumbing. Make sure to flush twice, if not three times, as it lacks flushing water pressure. - There are no side tables next to the bed, so phones and other personal items lands on the windowsill away from the bed. - Two huge lamps hung over the bed that we had to move to avoid head bumps. - The windows faced the street, but the slatted window blinds made for a bright room to sleep. The house was clean and we were able to use the common sitting areas downstairs. It would have been nice, especially for the price point, to have a pot of fresh coffee available in the huge kitchen downstairs or even fresh cookies or other baked treats. Heck, for the price, breakfast should have been served since they have a huge unused dining room.

From the owner: The Albert Pike Masonic Center is special because it delivers historic grandeur, flexible spaces,…read moreand genuine affordability all in one downtown Little Rock landmark. Built in 1924, this Neo‑Classical gem features towering columns, glittering chandeliers, and rich architectural details that give every event a “wow” factor from the moment guests arrive. Inside, the atmosphere feels timeless, romantic, and upscale without being stuffy or pretentious, so even simple décor looks elevated. What really sets this venue apart is the choice of two distinct spaces. The South Venue includes a large banquet hall, full kitchen access, luxurious bride and groom rooms, and an impressive auditorium with a stage and massive chandelier, making it ideal for big weddings, quinceañeras, galas, fundraisers, and performances. On the north end, Crawford Hall offers an intimate, roaring‑20s style space with its own small stage, bridal suite, and groom area, perfect for events of around 200 guests. Underlying everything is a commitment to “affordable excellence.” The Albert Pike Masonic Center gives families, nonprofits, and community groups access to a historic, photo‑worthy setting that feels like a grand downtown ballroom, but without the typical luxury‑venue price tag. It is a place where important moments feel even more meaningful, simply because of where they happen.

Every room showcases incredible craftsmanship, from the original woodwork and stained-glass windows to the elegant fireplaces, antique furnishings, and period décor. I found myself slowing down just to admire all of the details--it's a photographer's dream. The gardens are just as charming as the interior, offering a peaceful place to relax before heading out to explore the city. Inside, the common areas feel warm and inviting, making it easy to imagine what life was like here more than a century ago. What I appreciated most was that The Empress isn't simply a place to spend the night--it's an experience. If you enjoy architecture, history, boutique accommodations, or unique bed and breakfasts, you'll find plenty to love here. Whether you're visiting Little Rock for a weekend getaway or passing through on a road trip, I'd absolutely recommend adding The Empress to your itinerary. It's one of those memorable places that stays with you long after you've left.

A good couple hundred feet of open space that can be set up with or without tables, to stages (that this time were set up for media, but could just as easily have been a band). There's also a raised bar area that runs about the length of the space, and each corner, the upstairs balcony, etc. are set up as side dining-rooms that can either be open to main events, or closed off for several smaller events or private spaces during larger events. Bonus points for being in the train station building, and has plenty of parking - in a location that's central, but isolated enough to be private.
