It's not much, just a window and a few seats and the service is even less than you'd expect, but if you're willing to take it with you, the pizza isn't bad, and offers some nuanced flavors. The bar for Australian pizza isn't that high, but I looked at the other local pizza places and was higher on this one. If it were in New York, no way it gets three stars, but seeing as how we're in Byron, it's adequate.

This time I was visiting on Saturday and gladly it was open! The menu is exciting, but unfortunately, not all dishes can be made gluten free. I just wanted something simple, so I went with a slice of gluten free toast and a flat white. The thick toast was amazing and so was the homemade jam that came with it. My husband and son enjoyed their meals too (although they didn't have a kid's menu). I'd definitely come here again, but I do think the prices are very steep.

Since you're in Byron Bay, I struggle to imagine why you'd be thinking about some other beach. The menu is a mix of Indonesian and Australian brunch foods, and is reasonably vegetarian and vegan-friendly, though I preferred their breakfast options to their lunch. The pancakes I tried were indulgent and heavy on the coconut ice cream. A nice vacation-y brunch if there ever was one. Worth noting that they have a credit card surcharge; always good to carry cash.

Overall, the food is impressive too; possibly the best acacia bowl I've ever had. Quality for price won't disappoint. Although lots of seating, mostly outside, this place can be jammed. They encourage you to find a seat and then order at the counter, which is nice but odd. Most of the seating is low so it's not ideal for most aging adults. My issues here are that some of the cushions are way overdue a cleaning and it's often very noisy, which isn't how I like to savor my morning cup of coffee.

The custard was nice & creamy and that crust. Likewise, the quiche and pie had nice crusts, and were full of fillings. No lack of meat here.
