Many of the "exhibits" barely deserve the title (resembling something closer to simple children's play areas), and roughly half of those that do appear to be out of commission. Furthermore, the entire building suffers from a sense of decay that feels like it's a couple cigarette burns in the carpet shy of becoming a crack house. That said, there are two specific offerings that save this review from single-star oblivion. First is the Tesla Coil show, which makes up for what it lacks in presentation (the video before the show is almost unbearable) with an admittedly cool display set to music. This comes at no extra cost, which is a nice change from other museums where shows like this typically require an additional ticket purchase. The second shining attribute is the mural work on the main wall, which displays a terrific woodland scene and clearly required a great deal of time and effort from a talented artist. If you believe those two experiences are worth the $5/person cost of entry, by all means, visit this museum. But if you are expecting anything - literally anything - else, you are going to leave disappointed.

Some things looked like they could really use a deep clean/update. We were the only people in the place (other than the staff member and her kids). For $5 I feel like it was better than having my kids in a hotel room all day, but it just wasn't what I was expecting. Joel is an incredible artist and one of a few artists in the US who works in Trash Polka style. I looked at some of his paintings and previous tattoos and knew we will get a masterpiece out of all the ideas I ha, but I couldn't even imaging what an amazing experience it will be. We came to Texarkana from Austin and Joel made all the necessary arrangements to make sure we can finish everything in 2 days so we can return home and get back to work. He is so gentle with the needle, I was warned that such large area on my ribs will be painful, but I barely felt it until the very end. As tattoo specialist with extensive experience he recommended regiment that will be best for my skin type and style and it healed perfectly. Within a week I could see that healing process is going well and that all colors stay as vibrant as when we finished it. It's been 2.5 months my tattoo looks marvelous and I cannot wait to start working on new project with Joel. If you are looking for tattoo that will become a real work of art and the one you will enjoy for years to come Joel is your artist. If you're coming from other cities and states he is absolutely worth it. I cannot recommend him highly enough you just need to come and experience it yourself!

There were no issues with setting the thermostat; the rooms were immaculately clean and the service by Megan at the front desk and Bailey at the bar was top notch. As my husband and I were sitting at the bar during happy hour (and yes they have a nice happy hour!), we noticed Bailey going and bringing out the most beautiful and large salads from the kitchen. I think next time, we should order from the restaurant on premises. The lobby has a more elite look that we enjoy.

I hustled our dog to the cooler grass which unknowingly to me was supposed to be pet-free. (Where we parked there were no similar signs so that was confusing.) We didn't go inside the visitor center because dogs were not allowed. My oldest went to use the restroom and walked straight back out declaring, "There are way too many old ladies waiting in a line. We can just go, Mom. I can wait." Lol. This place makes for a nice photo with the large "Arkansas: The Natural State" sign out front. Easy access for all size vehicles exiting and entering back onto the eastbound Interstate 30.
