One of the first stops my daughters and I made during our first ever visit to the Natural State was the Arkansas Welcome Center in Texarkana. It was fairly hot on July 19, 2025. I hustled our dog to the cooler grass which unknowingly to me was supposed to be pet-free. (Where we parked there were no similar signs so that was confusing.) We didn't go inside the visitor center because dogs were not allowed. My oldest went to use the restroom and walked straight back out declaring, "There are way too many old ladies waiting in a line. We can just go, Mom. I can wait." Lol. This place makes for a nice photo with the large "Arkansas: The Natural State" sign out front. Easy access for all size vehicles exiting and entering back onto the eastbound Interstate 30. read more

I stopped at this welcome center on my way to hot springs over the Juneteen holiday. There were plenty of parking and they look to have plenty of street lights (i visited during the day so could not tell if they work). There were lots of brochure and maps available for people visiting the state. The real gem at this welcome center was the staff behind the counter. This lady asked me where I was going and what I had brought me to the state. I told her my plans were go to hiking in hot springs and just go with the flow. Yall she brought me everything that had to do with hot springs, hiking in the nearby area and she gave me some cool "hiking in Arkansas" sticker that were only given out to hikers! I felt so welcome by her and that friendly hospitality was the same by everyone I encounter during my trip to Arkansas. The bathrooms were clean and pretty empty when I visited however, they could use an upgrade and the lighting could be better. Overall good bathrooms. There were some vending machines and picnic tables outside but did not stop to hang out since I had to get back on the road. The "natural state" not only had beautiful hiking trails but it also had some many people with beautiful souls. I will for sure be back in the future. read more

I visit this Roadsode Rest Area while on my Anual Cross Country Roadtrip. This one is among the best I've been to A good place to take a break from the road. I've stopped for naps and restroom breaks and have never had a problem. All the staff I've encountered have been friendly and helpful. read more

The Natural State doesn't disappoint when you stop by at this welcome center and are welcomed by some of the warmest smiles. The desk attendants at the center were super kind and helpful and pointed us to all the right information we needed. There are tons of brochures, organized by the different regions within Arkansas, with lots of good information, most of which is free. We also got the bumper stickers and fridge magnets, which are perfect for keep sake. Clean restrooms and well maintained facility, highly recommend to stop by as you drive in on I-40 from Texarkana. read more

My review is based upon arriving around 8 PM on a Friday night after the rest of the center is closed just a few hours before. The men's restroom was filthy and looked like people were bathing out of the sinks. Trash was on the floor around the trash cans. There was ample parking for all sizes of vehicles and plenty of space to move around to shake out your legs after a long drive. Great for your dog as well. read more

A really nice place to stop! It is well maintained inside and out. Super cute cabin style building. The bathrooms were clean, a great place for a stop. The covered picnic tables and play ground are great for families. I loved the fire place inside!!! It is beautiful and I love the table with checkers set out with rocking chairs. The attendant was pleasant and helpful. There was lots of informational material and some glass cases with artifacts as well. read more

For a Welcome Center, this place is pretty freaking awesome. Coming from Houston, I'd driven about five hours before I passed the state line and arriving here so I needed a little rest stop to stretch and stuff, you know. The Arkansas Welcome Center had everything you need for a rest stop: clean restrooms, friendly staff, lots of brochures plenty of parking, vending machines, free coffee and map, outside gazebos if you feel like picnicking for a little bit before hitting the road again. And most importantly, they had WiFi! For the love of everything that's good, they freaking had WiFi! I mean, after being on the road where my data connection was spotty at best, having WiFi was amaze-balls!! For real! If you're going on a road trip from Texas through Arkansas going anywhere, it's really not a bad idea to stop here. And FYI, if you keep on going East on I-30 and you're running low on gas, the closest exit for gas is going to be at mile 30. Just saying just in case you're freaking out because there's no exit sign in sight for miles after you leave this place. read more

I didn't realize how important Rest Areas, Rest Stops, and Welcoming Centers are to the community until I took this road trip to Texas. This Welcoming center was very clean and they had all types of pamphlets, maps and people willing to answer questions if you needed help. I don't know how it is after hours but while they were open I had a good experience with the center. As always folks... Enjoy!!! read more

Right after Texarkana, on I-30, en route Little Rock, it is a nice place to relax, especially if you are driving down from Dallas and haven't taken many breaks. This place has all the basic facilities - water, rest rooms (very clean) and even a coffee machine. They have a big collection of books and informative literature on Arkansas and its history. Also, there are a couple of old antiques for display. The staff is very welcoming, which I guess is a part of their training, and they'll ask where you're coming from, where you're going and whether you are going to stay in Arkansas or not. They provide some very useful information and literature that may help you to find out best places in Arkansas to travel. Overall, a very good place. read more

What a nice welcome center! There's plenty of safe spaces for a walkabout for you and a pup, along with shaded picnic tables. Inside is full of magazines and travel pamphlets, water fountains, clean bathrooms and hot coffee. There's also a staffer available to answer any questions you might have. If we weren't in a hurry we might have sat in the fireside rocking chairs for a bit of an extended car-free rest. read more

I would suggest taking a potty break here, especially if you are on your way to Little Rock. There aren't many places to stop until you reach Little Rock. Bathrooms were clean. There is also a playground for the kids to run off some energy. Tons of parking for cars and trucks. read more

This is one of the nicest Welcome Center around. The Welcome Center is staffed and they are extremely knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The restrooms and building is very clean. They can suggest hotels in the area as well as provide coupons for some hotels. You'll find picnic tables and a playground area on the grounds. Very nice spot to rest or walk the dogs. read more

Driving into Arkansas to eat at a place we found by accident and LOVED but could not remember the name for, we came here. What a nice place to make a pit stop and get some info. The grounds are well kept, with areas for big trucks far separate from passenger vehicles. The grounds are beautiful. There are places to walk your pup and places to picnic. Inside, there is a beautiful facility with artifacts and books, clean restrooms and really nice people that can help you out. The lady we spoke to was really nice. We can stop here any time when venturing into Arkansas. read more
