We had such a wonderful experience in this shop! We went in with pretty much zero knowledge and the nice lady working was so helpful. We actually ended up bringing them our fair fish as we had them in the wrong environment and getting some cichlids instead. She provided us with so much useful information and even gave us some bacteria from their tank to help us get our tank cycled at home. This is not a "Petsmart" experience. If you care about the environment of your tank and the health of your tank, this is definitely the place to go. Can't wait to expand our aquarium! read more

I have been in and out of this shop for twenty years. I have always received great customer service and solid advice for my pets. The variety of healthy fish they have is always lovely. I have never gotten a pet from them that infected my tank with disease like some other pet stores have done. Amazing, I bought 2 dojo loaches from them today, both are incredibly healthy and happy already! The store was a joy to be in and their prices are far superior for fish foods aswell. I don't really know that much about fish, except they can be mighty tasty. Not aquarium fish though... So, the staff here are AMAZINGLY helpful and knowledgeable. We went and were able to get all fitted out and have everything explained about how to get the ball rolling properly on our tank at home. They can get you set up with either fresh water of salt water tanks. I recommend this place highly. You should check it out if you're in the market for some fish. read more

This is as good as aquarium shops get. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, I have never once come in and not been greeted by the staff and the owners dogs. I can't believe anyone would write a negative review about this store, there is literally nothing bad to say. They have so many customers coming in and setting up new tanks that they are constantly special ordering in fish for (which are the reserved fish most times, maybe you should special order in fish too, then yours would be reserved as well). I have loved coming here since I was a little kid and seeing all they had to offer, great people, great fish, great store. Kalispell is lucky to have this store. They sell quality, healthy aquarium fish. They practice good disease control and have a good selection of species. I have a 20 gallon freshwater system and I've enjoyed tropical fish a long time. I send new aquarium enthusiasts to this store. Certainly not Petco or Walmart. read more

Was sent into this 40+-year-old mom and pop fish store by my mother-in-law with a sample of water to have analyzed. Kelly helped me and she bent over backwards to help me figure out what might be the cause of our unintentional outdoor pond fish genocide. I walked out with a head full of good information and a bag full of, what she referred to as good bacteria but what I would call aquarium grunge. Kind of like when antibiotics kill off needed bacteria and we have to replace it by consuming yogurt, I am going to need to add this murky water to our pond. There was no charge for all of this help and I was very impressed. I hope that anyone in the Flathead Valley will consider this store for the purchase and maintenance of their aquariums and also would recommend it as a fun place to take kids as there are many unusual and interesting aquatic displays. As a regular customer there I don't know what I expect. Maybe a friendly hello or even a acknowledgement that I am in the store. Nope, neither. Every single time I want to buy something, everything is already reserved and can be done up to 3 months in advance. I have cash in my pocket and am willing to relieve you of some of your inventory, ya know so you can turn over more inventory. I refuse to buy fish from Petco, mainly because there filtration systems are all interconnected, but I can tell you I have had much better customer service there than from the Aquarium Shop on any given day. I know you have the market cornered here in the valley but customers are what keep your business going. read more
