For a Christmas pressie I purchased a Meerkat Experience for my partner. My reasons being that why should the younger generation have all the fun. Due to the coronavirus pandemic the dates had to be changed twice but The Animal Experience were more than adaptable, for which, we are so grateful. We arrived early but that didn't faze the young man who was to be our guide for this experience. A young guy who was so knowledgeable about the animals, birds, reptiles and insects that he was about to show us. We were led into one of the meerkat enclosures and my partner was overwhelmed by those four adorable creatures. She didn't expect the 'in touch' experience. I had kept it quiet from her. Those little guys were so inquisitive and so used to we humans. Climbing all over her and even the sentry sitting on her shoulders. After this we were shown all the birds including wonderful owls and kestrel. Followed by tortoise, turtles and then into the reptile and insect house. So many creatures and all, obviously, well cared for. Proven by the number of offspring around these enclosures. I would point out that precautions were in place to limit contact with coronavirus. A safety aspect to keep us, the staff and, of course, the animals safe. Handwashing before anything proceeded. Masks on all the time when inside. After the meerkat meeting, handwashing again. Couldn't be better. Felt safe all the time. So, finally, thanks you one and all for a fabulous, and well worth every penny, experience. My partner loved it. Actually, so did I.
