The Watford branch of Gambado is brand new, so everything is sparkling clean and attractive to look at. The whole area is large and well spaced. Taking focal point was a massive playframe. There was a large four-lane slide as well as some of those rotating slides (not sure what it's called). There was a seperate area for under-2s. Tame enough to keep older kids away but still fun for the younger ones. They had large building blocks too, a nice touch. Next to the playframe was a climbing wall. The cafe was okish, nothing too great. Food was well presented but limited in variety. The only hot meal options seemed to be pizza and sandwiches. There were some nice salads too. The cafe had nice seating, transparent rounded chairs in different colours. Very well spaced out tables, not your typical softplay cafe. Prices were a bit on the high side. They had some areas with big chalkboards for the children to scribble on. And another place for musical experimenting, different things to bang on and make sounds. They also had some magnet play. Under some clear glass thingies were magnet shavings, pins etc. that children could pull a magnet over, causing patterns. There was also a fairly large track for dodgem cars. For adults there was a seperate lounge. There were computers with internet access, newspapers etc. It didn't look like children were allowed there, the notice said Adults Only. Strange that, who'd be watching the kids while the parents sat in a seperate area? It cost £15 entrace for me and the kids. By far the most expensive place for this sort of activity. You didn't have to spend any money inside though (unless you want to eat), everything was unlimited. There were plenty of lockers, clean and spacious, to deposit your belongings. It is free to use and you only need a £1 coin cif you want to lock it (it is refunded). Toilets are reasonably clean too, but I don't know if that is because it was a quiet day. Would recommend it if nothing cheaper is close to you. Works out quite expensive for a small family even.

The party's are fab as they take care of everything especially being heavily pregnant and exhausted over the summer it was one less thing to worry about!

Every exhibit has multiple viewpoints here. There were plenty of opportunities to easily see all the animals here. The enclosures were extremely well kept and I think all had an indoor and outdoor area for the animals. There are multiple play areas throughout for kids here too. My kids also enjoyed the animatronic dinosaurs here (very cute). Food here was reasonably priced but we ate outside the park. Parking was free. They offer a lot of different animal interactions here. The prices for all were pretty high but for a special gift I'm sure they are totally worth it. You can also buy carrots to feed the animals in the petting zoo.

There were a few extras while you were there so take additional money but to be expected at these places! ( it's set up for packed lunches which is great for families ) There is a good choice of animals to see and you can buy food which a good selection of animals to feed! They also had a lots of showing through out the day and I got to stroke a snake :). The park had a good layout where you can easily walk around and find where you are going plus you get a handy map! There have an indoor soft play at the entrance which is good and bad! Means the kids want to go these straight away instead of seeing the animals and you don't pass on the way out! The soft play was great for all ages and served your average drinks and food - one thing I will say which was disappointing was they charged me for a bit of milk for my baby! I always pay my way but this is the first place that have ever charged me for milk! Worth a visit and tickets are not expensive - look out for groupon deals!

It is a 'soft play kids cafe'…read more I visited on a Monday morning at approx 11.30am and was the only person there, although we were joined a bit later by two other mums and their children. The soft play is split into 2 sections one for under 2s and the other for 2-9 years. You pay £3 for 2 hours play. When investigating this I though this sounded a great deal a nice wee cuppa for me while my 2.5 year old son had a play. In reality the softplay area is miniscule by far the smallest I have ever seen! I really grudged paying £3 and though an absolute maximum would have been £2. For over 2s there is little to provide any stimulation. The soft play comprises Ground Level a series of 'punch bags' that lead to a dead end(!) and small ball pool which has the exit of the slide. Level 1 big birthing ball type things to dodge round and entrance to a circular slide. The slide area is very very dark and my son could not be persuaded to try it. Indeed the owner said her own son thought it was too dark. The under 2s section has a small free standing slide, 'small' ball pool, rocking horse, play mat and selection of books and games. My son is only 2.5 and I can't ever imagine him wanting to spend 2 hours playing here. My daughter is 8 and wouldn't even consider taking her. In terms of the cafe there is a small selection of made to order sandwiches, toasties etc but nothing that made me think 'wow, that looks/sounds tasty'. They could do with a muck better selection of homemade cakes etc. Kids meals consist of foods that kids actual eat and at great prices too so this was one real plus. All in all I wanted to be able to say that I really liked this place because the idea is great and just want the area needs. However I can't. It was okay but nothing more and could be done so much better.

The cozy friendly atmosphere and staff make us feel very welcome every time we go. The menu is simple and great ideas for kids. It's actually foods kids eat for a change and for less than £2.50 for a little meal with drink! We always get food here as its as cheap as eating at home. And having the 2 hours for £3.00 is fantastic. All the other places charge you for going over your hour, which of your eating you always do! But here they are so relaxed they have a standard £3.00 to pay and we never feel pressured to leave even when this time is up. We have 2 hours out, food, drinks and entrance normally for under £20.00. That's unheard of anywhere these days. The kids love it and we love the fact they can play safely where we can see them at all times. We will continue spending plenty of time at Logan's Den along with many of our friends who say exactly the same as us. Amazing value for money, very clean, safe and friendly, thank you Logan's Den. A real asset to Baldock!!

This little park started out as just a butterfly park but over the years has extended its collection and now houses birds of prey, ponies, pigs, llamas and racoons (to name but a few). The tropical house is home to the butterflies (plus some reptiles and other insects). The volume and variety of butterflies is breathtaking and the tropical house is well set out so you get plenty of opportunity to see the butterflies without feeling you have walked round in circles. Outside in the park you can explore all the other animal exhibits and catch one of the daily falconry displays. There is a new children's adventure play area and if all of this tires you out and you need to recharge your batteries then there is a lovely restaurant/cafe which serves delicious homemade cakes and lunches. The Gift shop is well stocked and the staff are all very friendly. All in all a fantastic day out.
