While looking to relocate, this apartment complex was on the list of places to check out in the south end of Reno. The staff is super friendly and genuinely want to help and answer all the questions. The property itself is really nice and well maintained. Even the trash situation is kept in check (one of the things I make note of at any place I toured). Has a nice year round outdoor pool and hot tub. Package lockers are included in the price. For the fitness minded there are 3 rooms to work out in (spin room, yoga room, weight/cardio room) Gated community that actually closes the gates after office hours. I would recommend this complex to looking for a place to move on the south end of town. read more

This was a beautiful place to live when I moved in - I purposefully picked a top floor apartment to have the quietest experience possible. Naturally, over the past 6 months, I have had to deal with the most obnoxious and excessive noise from newly moved in neighbors that I've ever experienced. Screaming children, yelling parents.. I have contacted both security and management on numerous occasions (10+ at this point over months) and they have done nothing to resolve the continued issue but send "lease violations." Now, they are interfering with the validity of my lease agreement to have a reasonably peaceful time living at The Alexander. It is a shame that management has not escalated this situation in any manner as I will be seeking legal counsel.. the fact that you pay $1600/mo to listen to shrieking children and disrespectful and disruptive adults on and off throughout the day when you are trying to work is absolutely unacceptable. Management has gone downhill and sending "please be quiet" general emails DOES NOTHING. All of my other neighbors manage to come home and leave quietly but the ones causing disruption and annoyance all day get to stay and ruin it for everyone else... read more

I love it here! My husband and I just renewed our lease and I'm glad we found this gem in South Reno. The front staff, managers and maintenance team are so responsive. The ladies in the front office are always so kind and do their job wholeheartedly. There is definitely a homey feel to the place and they are always hosting events in the clubhouse for the tenants. I'm a pretty busy woman and don't go to every event, but having events is one thing that makes this complex feel like a community. In addition to that, we get emails with any important updates about what's happening with the apartment. Also everyone has the option to get connected with "Next Door " so you always know whats happening in the apartment and surrounding neighborhood. And lets not forget that the prices are pretty competitive especially for the location. There are plenty of other positives and they outweigh in negative I can think of. Absolutely awful staff!!! Back in may of this year I was told by police that I had to leave to do some issues I was having with my ex and it was court ordered that I couldn't be on property even though I was on the lease. This lasted a month and I had court in June and was told I can come back but I had 1750 to pay for the last month of rent when I wasn't even allowed to be on property nor live in my apartment. These apartments were not understanding at all and wouldn't do anything. They don't give a crap about you or anything. They are money hungry and just laugh in your face. The absolute best apartments out there hands down. I have lived in many apartments and there have been none that compare to The Alexander. The staff here is absolutely incredible, they are very efficient on completing work orders, keeping up with the grounds, emptying trash bins to keep them from overflowing. We actually loved it so much that when we moved out the first time we came back again for a second time. The pool is beautiful with lovely lounge chairs and a great space for you to bring your family. The Alexander is amazing. I lived here for quite some time, and after a brief move to another state and a move back, I came back here without a second thought. The front office staff is absolutely amazing. They are friendly, efficient, and fun to deal with. The maintenance crew is stellar. The couple of times I have needed them, they have done a fantastic job. In addition to being great at what they do, I have to say every one of them that I have met is upstanding and trustworthy. The faculty is constantly making sure that things are being improved and the apartments themselves are great! I've lived in both a 2 and a 3 bedroom unit and am happy with both! I could have easily stayed in a 2 bedroom with my kids but wanted to let each have their own room. I would say that this is the best all-around property I have ever lived at! Every single time I needed a small fix with my apartment and/or garage, they were on it within 24 hours. Apartments were absolutely beautiful. This is the best cost-effective Luxurious apartments in Reno/Sparks. This complex neighbored amazing restaurants, multiple highways, and a gorgeous view of the surrounding mountains. The state of the art pool, clubhouse and jacuzzi compliment the overall experience here at the Alexander as well. If you love food and margaritas, The Alexander will occasionally have a few food trucks come to the complex and serve the residents. What I would like to conclude here is that The Alexander complex is a gorgeous place. Ladies in the office and the maintenance team go above and beyond to keep it clean, beautiful and comfortable for the renters. I truly appreciate all their hard work. They put awesome decorations for every holiday in a club house. Plus, they organize get together events with delicious food. Beautiful warm pool through the year, hot tub, mini-gym, spinning class room, yoga/pilates room, office room, free Wi-Fi, 7 TVs ,sauna, free Starbucks coffee, movie room, pool table and more in the gorgeous club house. While shopping around for an apartment I came across the Alexander. They were the first place that answered right away and were able to show me around the same day. I moved here during the summer and was able to enjoy some food and margarita trucks that came by once a month, It was a nice touch. The leasing office regularly holds events where you have the opportunity to actually meet and socialize with your neighbors over a drink or two. The staff is very professional and super friendly, they answered all my questions and walked me through the rental process. As I sit in my nice, warm, cozy apartment and watch the snow fall, I reflect on how happy I am that The Alexander is my home. I have been a resident here for almost 9 months and I absolutely love it. My home is quite spacious and I have plenty of closet space. The garage also has an area for my belongings that are only used during the holidays. The office and maintenance staff are superb. They are extremely friendly and treat all the residents with great respect. The grounds are in perfect condition (even on snow days). The clubhouse and swimming pool are favorites with my granddaughters. We were able to utilize the pool and spa many times last summer and I'm looking forward to another great summer this year. We were able to meet and enjoy many of the residents at the pool. Of course, the granddaughters love the play area also. I would give The Alexander a 10 out of 10 rating for the amazing apartment and the amazing staff that maintains the property and the office staff who are always the best. We have reached the point of ridiculousness .. This a complex that charges TOP DOLLAR for rent. Closets are a joke with no storage space. Let's get to the point. Parking..... what a joke. I pay over $1500 a month only to get off work and find ABSOLUTELY ZERO parking spots..... every night. People have resorted to parking in building drive ways.... the car washing station. It's straight up pathetic. The only good thing about this place is the girls working and the maintenance crew. "Ownership" will send you a message on yelp with ZERO follow through...... all I have to say is renters BEWARE. Unless you like parking your car on the back street while paying as much a house mortgage would be. Don't move here.... the ownership doesn't care. This place is a joke!!!! They act like it's luxury living and sure is pricey enough to seem like it is but isn't. They've given us problems since before we even moved in. We came to check them out and were given a tour, shown a unit and they gave us $100 off rent and a move in special but as soon as we we said yes to the apartment she gave it away to the people sitting across the room from us. Why would you show us something and get is excited about t if you are showing to someone else at the same time and won't even give us the same offer for the same room? So we waited over a month for another unit to be available and when it did we weren't given any specials what so ever, in fact they gave us the wrong move in date so when I gave my month notice to my current residence we were forced to almost pay double because our contracts overlapped. On top of that, there's never any parking! And they don't allow guests to visit without a parking pass which they also won't give me. On top of that, when we first moved in there's a hole in the ceiling, a broken doorbell, broken AC unit, knicks and scratched all over the walls and floors, crappy paint job on sinks and shower made to look nice but chips once water gets to it. They don't even have normal creamer for the coffee they provide, it's powdered creamer. Then, these random maintenance guys kept coming in and out of our house to fix the AC whenever they wanted, they didn't follow appointments, they showed up on our days off and gave no notice and just walked in, this happened over five times, which is BS, it doesn't take six different people, five different times to fix an AC. And how can you just show up whenever you want and not notify the tenants thats called lack of privacy or I make an appointment and they don't even show up. Especially when I have a cat. Then on top of that, our crappy neighbors apparently took a picture of a trash bag I left outside my door for an hour while I was cleaning up my apartment on my day off and tattled on me to the front office as if I'm some slob. The front office called two days later while I was working just to tell me I'm in the wrong. They didn't even bother to look to see if there was any trash outside my doorstep but instead left me a ridiculous voicemail stating that I'm not allowed to leave things outside my door and I have to throw it away immediately. The trash was there for an hour, get over it. It's nice to know I have snobby nosy neighbors. People leave couches, bed frames, big boxes and random other stuff outside but god forbid me leaving a trash bag outside for an hour. One of the tenants even had a Pod taking up two parking spaces right by my apartment but for some reason that was allowed for over three days. My apartments don't ever having parking as it is but for some reason they allowed an entire Pod to take two spaces for days. This place has crappy communication, they cheaply fix things, they don't clean the outside area of the buildings at all. And apparently they won't actually call me when they are supposed to to let me know when they are coming by to fix something but instead they only call to bitch at me about small stuff that don't even matter when they could be fiXing the problems. Pathetic! Yea they have nice pool with late hours and a hot Tub, sauna and small fitness section but that's the only good part. They still won't even tell me the code for the gates, still won't tell me how to use the theatre area or cycle area, and never leave pool sticks out to play pool and lock the clubhouse over night so I can't even get coffee really early in the morning or even get a snack from the vending machine. And the sauna never really even heats up. To even top it all off yet again, this stupid place doesn't even have recycling, so all the plastics and compost from the entire community will just be thrown into the ground and rot away all because they are too cheap to pay for recycling. read more

Been here 4 years and this place has become trash in that short of time. Vehicles are being vandalized, property being stolen and garages broken into, and it's more than likely by the people they're allowing to move in here. If you value your property do not move here, we are on our way out. Regardless of what the supposed business owner says, 4 months ago on the south side of the complex more than ten cars were keyed, police reports were filed and management was well aware of the incident. About a year ago management sent out emails letting everyone know packages were being stolen from front doors and they possibly knew who was doing it. I personally know of 3 other tenants who have had music equipment and tools stolen out of their garages. Management is well aware of the continuing problem and does nothing about it which makes me think there's a reason they won't do anything and deny it's even happening. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would and the reason I would is because they are not good landlords let alone luxury apartments. When I first got here to check the place out I noticed a lot of uhauls going in and out and I thought nothing of it at first with the pandemic going on but now I know why everyone must have been leaving after experiencing how awful this place is. These people say on the front of their building and on flags outside how much they are open "during social distancing." Yet seem to give any tenant who actually pays to live there anything other than social distance. The maintenance guys are nice but the women specifically who you need to talk to on the phone are not only rude but incredibly brazen. They will exert any non existent authority on to their tenants. Stay far away from this place if you are lucky enough to be reading this. They will never actually replace or replace your fridge or security alarm if and when it breaks if you actually ending signing a lease with them. ALSO Trying to park your vehicle here overnight is the worst idea ever. If it's after 10 PM don't even bother! Go down the road to the Walmart and park your car in their parking lot and I guess just Uber back because if you park anywhere like they're weird little spot to wash your car because the parking lot is so full & you leave it there past 12 AM they have this security guard who will call their towing company that just so happens to be the Alexander's own private towing company..they use any random picture they have of an empty parking space from god knows when to prove that they have the power to tow your car immediately. This car towing company won't even let you call them on the phone when they tow your car they expect you to text everything. Getting my car back from them took at least six hours out of my day. I came to Reno to visit my mother with a rental car so when this place decided to tow my car their private company wouldn't give me the car back unless I could prove the title was in my name and obviously it wasn't in my name because it was a rental car so this private towing company pretty much held my car for ransom until the Hertz dealership called them personally... as you know hertz is a huge corporation so it took me hours just to get the towing company to text me the address to where I could pay them to finally pick up my car once hertz finally called them back. This is another time that Brittany was extremely rude to me. They had absolutely no sympathy for me over Mother's Day so I cannot let all of this go unnoticed I really don't want anyone else to suffer going to the Alexandar like I did. read more

If I wasn't at the pool on my weekends I could usually be found shooting hoops at the basketball court or taking my dog to hang out in the luxurious clubhouse. They have a lot of amenities and they are open late just in case you work late. Had some issues with parking at first but once that cleared up it's been fine and we've been able to park mostly in the same spot. My husband and I were at the Alexander Apts for 2.5 years and absolutely loved this upscale place. It was the closest to a custom home we've found. They builders didn't hold back when they built this property and we were impressed with everything from the warmer color schemes inside the apartments to the modern custom made oversized quality doors. Everything Is very upscale & classy. You won't find typical apartment standard, cheaply built anything at The Alexander. The maintenance team and office staff were always super friendly and treated us with upmost respect and quite frankly, made us to feel like family. Brittany, the manager is warm, friendly and very professional. They always went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and comfortable. Work orders were never an issue to get things taken care of in a timely manner. The clubhouse and gym are absolutely beautiful and encourage resident fitness and activity. The putting golf, basketball court, pool with bbq area, movie theater, tanning booth & vending machines made living there fun and never boring. We've lived here for 6 months and I cannot say ENOUGH good things about the complex and all of the people that work here. The complex is beautiful and very well kept up. I see maintenance literally 24/7- huge plus!! We had a lot of small random issues moving in and I felt like such a burden at one point after calling so many times, but they never once made me feel that way. We laughed about it in fact. Every time I have called or walked into the office about anything at all they have always been so helpful and understanding. For instance, I went in a couple weeks ago hoping to use the printer in the business room and it wasn't working and they let me use their printer. Brittney and Kenna were the ones helping me and we had small talk, they're just so nice- all of the girls in the office are great. Very professional. read more

I love living here. For an apartment it is SO quiet! The maintenance team does an incredible job keeping the grounds clean, garbage pickups timely, pool area is clean, touch up on the building and QUICK responses to any issue in my apartment from a water filter to a clogged sink! They are on it!! I appreciate knowing that there is security at night, even though I've never had to use it. I appreciate this extra level of detail for the residences . The front staff is also super friendly, helpful and reachable. They remember your name, you aren't just a number. The clubhouse Has so many great amenities from the beautiful kitchen to the pool table that gets used often to the workout rooms to the sauna in the bathrooms and at the end of all of that you can go watch a movie in the little movie theater. DO NOT RENT HERE! I lived with a roommate here for a few months. It ooks like a great complex from the outside. Well they failed to maintain our unit and blamed us for our insect issue even though the pest control they use couldn't even get rid of the insects after 2 attempts they stopped attempting to maintain anything. For almost 5 months, we did not have a functioning dishwasher and when we finally got a replacement, it was a cheap off brand POS that didn't match the other appliances like it was supposed to. We politely requested a 10% reimbursement or credit to our rent for the time we were affected by the dishwasher considering that part of the rent payment is the appliances, we felt this was very fair. We got a response, not from the property manager, but from their attorney... and it said that The Alexander had done the best they could to remedy the situation. We're currently looking to sue now that we live somewhere else. They did not use their best efforts to remedy the situation, as they legally are required to repair something like that within 14 days . It took MONTHS! That's only the start of our issues. The new staff here is useless! We moved in and the main leasing agent was named Phoebe. I miss her. She was amazing. But when she left, everything started going downhill read more

Lived here for almost eleven months now and am marking the days on my calendar until I can finally get out of this awful place. I would not recommend living here to my worst enemy. There are just so many things wrong with this complex it is sicking. Lets start with the management. They are a bunch of stuck up broads who think they are big shots. News flash you work at an apartment complex... We have been lied to by them many many times, including about our lease agreement. When being shown the apartment the first time, we asked some pretty simple questions that couldn't even get answered correctly. We were told that they do 6 month leases, we later found out thats a lie (when we were finally about to ink the lease). Next we were told its going to be a 12 month lease... another lie. Turns out it was a 13 months.. At that point I was really hesitant to sign but they assured us that if we wanted out after 12 they would allow it. Turns out that was a lie. They will tell you ANYTHING to get you to sign that lease so be VERY skeptical. Another thing that has left a bad taste in my mouth happened over the summer. It was a week day and there was no one by the pool. I had my family come visit me from out of town and we were hanging down there. I ended up leaving to get us lunch and within 5 minutes receive a call from my family saying they had been kicked out of the pool.. How outrageous is that? Lets get to the apartments themselves. They are extremely tiny with no storage space.. I am on the top floor and can hear the people below me when they walk and talk. Not to mention the freeway behind them which is extremely loud. For being new the appliances are old (electric stove?). The parking situation is also terrible.. whoever designed it should be fired. Overal at first glance this seems to be the place to live... but after living here I DO NOT RECOMMEND it. read more

I have to update my review. The Alexander is under new management. After a lengthy discussion with the new team there, we were able to come to an understanding regarding our move out concerns and fees from last year. At this point, I have to say the new management seems very concerned about tenants as well as making clear efforts to make things better for those past and present. We really appreciate them reaching out to us and working with us to make our experience better. What we liked about living here was the ease of parking, access to the freeway, close to shopping and restaurants... The buildings, interior and hardware/decor was great. The gym was very convenient. Never used the pool...but it looked nice--rarely packed. Computer room was definitely a plus and we had to print things many times, so convenient! Relative to other apartments/complexes in town, I think Alexander is up there with the best of them. Now that there is new management, we would consider living here again. read more

The good: 2 stars because the clubhouse is nice (although we rarely used it for anything), decent appliances, and built within the past decade (new). The bad: Do ANY of the residents actually use their garage to park their cars? Or just as a storage container? Parking is at a premium here. Although this place is new, the walls are super thin. We had some kids spend the weekend with us once and our downstairs neighbor immediately complained the entire weekend. It may be a requirement to own a dog here. The amount of dog urine that is built up in the astroturf areas can probably be smelt for a couple of miles on a hot summer's day. The pool area, while nice, is not sufficient for the amount of people living here. There are never enough chairs, and if a large family is having its weekly BBQ, forget about relaxing or swimming at all. Water bill was unusually expensive and the carpet was very low quality. The office staff was not especially helpful. One example was during our move-out process. They charged us for "paint touch up", which could have been described as normal wear and tear. All we did was hang a few pictures. What's more, they failed to mention that we could've covered the holes ourselves to avoid being charged. To sum up: Maybe if you utilize their clubhouse a lot and you keep to yourself inside your unit, you will like this place. With the tons of cars, the bad smells, etc, we did not enjoy our time here. read more

We are two months into our lease at the Alexander and are quite pleased with our decision to move here. After not living in an apartment for about 15 years my wife and I were intimidated about the concept of being surrounded by neighbors without the buffer that a residential subdivision offers. We searched several higher-end apartment complexes in South Reno. We nearly ended up at the Horizons at South Meadows due to lack of availability at the Alexander, but luckily an apartment opened up for us. The Horizons is nearly the same in pricing, but the apartments are much more cheaply built with formica countertops and cheaper fixtures and appliances. Not to mention their clubhouse is only open during office hours and the pool is not open year round like the Alexander. The buildings at the Alexander are 3 stories and I wanted to limit the amount of neighbor issues so we settled on a 2nd floor apartment over garages so we could eliminate one neighbor beneath us. The opening and closing of garage doors can be a bit noisy and some of them need adjustment, but over time it has bothered us less and less. There has been one instance where we had to go ask our neighbor upstairs to turn off their clothes washer at 11pm when it was unbalanced and sounded like it was going to fall through the ceiling. They were polite and happy to oblige. Each apartment has granite countertops throughout and laminate wood flooring. Quality is definitely there compared to what I have known from apartment living in the past. Our building is on the north end of the property which has a long line of additional parking, so parking is never an issue for us. My wife and I both have large vehicles so we don't use our garage (which comes with every unit) for parking, but it is a nice space for storage coming from a 3 bedroom home prior. Their policy is that garages are for parking not storage, but seeing the occasional garage door opened I see that it is not strictly enforced. We have had one maintenance request thus far and it was handled the same day. Office staff is very friendly and helpful and always seem willing to help us with whatever we need. The pool and spa are very nice. We tend to enjoy it later in the evenings when the crowds are less and there are not rambunctious kids to worry about. The clubhouse is open 24x7 and is very nice. There is a full kitchen, large sitting area with a pool table and several large screen TV's. There is free Starbucks coffee, wifi and vending machines with snacks and drinks you have to pay for. All in all the Alexander was a great choice for us and has alleviated much of our concerns about returning to apartment living. So to sum things up: Pro's 1. Great location in South Reno. 2. Have noise from garages blow and neighbor footsteps above. Some might say this is typical apartment living, but I would think with modern day construction this could be minimized. 2. Water, sewer & garbage are billed separately and not included in rent. 3. Traffic from US-395 and S. Virginia are a bit of an annoyance when on the balcony, but can't be heard from our apartment. 4. I recently helped my son and his girlfriend move into the Alexander and couldn't have been more impressed with the quality of the apartments, the numerous amenities included for the price and the amazing help from the office staff. The girls in the office went above and beyond to make sure the move-in went smoothly, and they were always available to answer any of the questions we had. Overall, I give the Alexander an A+ and would recommend the complex to anyone in search of an apartment that feels "just like home" and is in a very safe environment. read more

Management or corporate office discriminates against retired people. In order to qualify, you have to show monthly income that is 2.5 times the $1425 monthly rent. If you just have lots of $$$ in your bank account and request to pay for a 13 month lease up front they will deny you. Office staff is rude, they don't want to be bothered. As far as the advertised anemeties, the office girls could care less. I have half a mind to contact my friends at KTVN. read more
