The atmosphere is warm as soon as you arrive and you feel like you are really welcome to be there - as opposed to an interuption or inconvenience as some places unfortunately make you feel like! The staff were very attentive throughout and were more than willing to answer our questions and offer a little of their own expert advice. The menu has good choice and seems to cater for most peoples tastes, six of us on the table and six different main courses shows that i guess. Although i have not yet been , i am looking forward to the next theme night to see just how well this fantastic restaurant carries it off... keep up the good work1

Just not a huge fan of the tomato and avacodo salad in the caper dressing... a bit too salty for my taste. Want to try the fish pie next time. Adding this. Got the fish pie on my second visit. But I happen to live just round the corner so I go there quite regularly. The restaurant has undergone a redevelopment inside and looks ten times better then what it did before. This makes for a nice atmmoshere. At times you will have to wait a long time for a table but this sign of a good restaurant when it's always busy everyday of the week. It is even busy during the day due to the reduced prices of already cheap food with access to the salad bar which is brilliant because you will not need to get a starter and is included with every meal. I have always found the service in the Harvester first class considering how much you pay regularly costs me £25 with drinks and deserts when I go there with my girlfriend and about £20 at lunch time but it depends on what you order. You seem to always get a nice sized portion and I have never left there feeling I could eat more. I have also been there many times with a large group of people and still never had a problem food has always been fantastic. Overall it is good value for money

The Harvester at Stanway, Colchester, serves mainly chicken with the famed salad cart. Although the…read moremenu has expanded in recent years, the restaurant still only offers a limited choice of dishes - chicken, chicken with sauce, chicken with pasta with only the odd steak here and there. As I have already mentioned, the salad cart is a nice touch, allowing you to help yourself to salad, cold pasta, potato salad and bread. I can often take some time to secure a table upon arriving, forcing you to sit and drink decidedly overpriced drinks from the bar. In all, good food but a limited choice three stars.

While the Anchor is a cosy gastropub, the Table is more of a bistro, with great atmosphere (three smallish rooms with four or five tables in each, subdued lighting, candles and relaxed, informal atmosphere) - and good food. The menu changes frequently, with four or five choices for each course. It's a great place for romantic meals for two or having dinner with friends. Usually pretty packed, so you need to book ahead especially on weekends. Definitely one of my top two or three place to eat out in Woodbridge.

I can honestly say I will not even recommend this place to my worst enemy, stay away!!!!

Always a friendly service; another great pub we are lucky to have in the near neighbourhood. It is usually pretty busy so booking ahead at weekends probably a good idea.
