    Mottram Hall - Pool

Mottram Hall offered that along with some team building experiences. Unfortunately, it is a bit out of the way. The rooms seem to vary depending on which portion of the building you end up. My room was decent - king bed, reasonably sized bathroom, although only a view of the parking lot. The bed was comfortable but the room was hot. The food at the restaurant was ok. Breakfast was included (along with WiFi) and probably the best part of the stay. I managed to try a good selection of the dinner menu but wouldn't rave about anything. The bar area is unique and a good place to relax and talk. Our team building was archery. The instructors were awesome and everyone had a great time. I even managed to get a good photo of myself impersonating Robin Hood! Cliff notes: Nice place to stay, but a bit out of the way. A solid location for a corporate outing. Hopefully you won't be eating dinner there multiple nights in a row...

Mottram hall really is a magnificent venue. Devere have properties all over the UK each with their own identity. With Mottram as soon as you walk in, regardless of whether you recognise the Georgian architecture or not a grand feeling will wash over you. You will be sucked in and helplessly emerse yourself in the melodramatic decor, from the oil paintings on the wall to the carpets which reminded me of the shining. Must admit, the paintings on the walls were slightly haunting, but then again we all know of my love for the horror genre. One particular painting I know for a fact upon my second glance piercing eyes in the painting followed me as I passed. I would probably need the hotel to be noisy and full if I ever stayed here, just to feel safe from any ..... er.....ghosts??!! All speculations of Mottram hall being haunted aside the place has alot to offer. The restaurant serves great food and the service is also good with friendly and approachable staff. Nathaniel's restaurant an AA Rosette Award winning restaurant's great for fine dining. The focus is on classic English meals but I hear they are changing the concept slightly, introducing a buffet style arrangement with a wide variety of things on offer. The grounds surrounding the Hall are vast with an array of activities available such as a 7000 yard championship golf course and clay pigeon shooting. There is also a spa and leisure club where you can work out or enjoy a range of treatments. It also seems an ideal wedding venue. So perhaps this is one yelp for the future. Some years down the line when the waist line and bank balance are both slighter bigger, and your post code starts with SK10.... Even before then for a very very special occasion or to treat someone take them to Mottram hall. Beware though ask for directions because I got hopelessly lost despite having a sat nav :DD I would happily book a couple of nights here go enjoy the day activities on offer and do a horror movie marathon at night any one fancy it ??? Come on yelpers......... wanna play a game!!!!!!!!! :D

My first business trip ever for 3 weeks and got put up here and so glad I did! First I must note…read moresince 2005 I've kind of blacked out holiday inns since being robbed at gunpoint not once, but twice at Holiday inns at New Orleans and Memphis , but actually did t hesitate here as it was NOT USA and a clean safe location in Stockport by the airport. Only a short walk to the office , I had an upper room in a corner , a very comfy bed and clean bath to spend my time. Breakfast every day was an English breakfast with scrambled eggs, beans, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, yogurt, cereal, breads, fruit, really all I needed for an early start to the office for this stay. The ladies managing the breakfast were so pleasant and attentive. I actually look forward to seeing them in the morning and missing them a good day. Coffee machines offered plenty of options, including espresso, Americano, really whatever you want as well as fresh orange juice and apple juice every morning. There were quite a few large groups of kids coming in throughout this period but the staff seemed to manage them quite well, mostly in for dance or sporting events but boy did they take up the hallways and breakfast some mornings. They do have an all night menu or at least a couple of taps for beer , but the location was perfect to walk into town finding many options for dinner and entertainment after a busy day at work. Located next to the train station actually was quite a perfect location as excursions for the weekend to York for Liverpool easy and inexpensive . Fitzpatricks just out the front door for a bite, grocery, and gym all next to the hotel were well utilized and made the trip pleasant. For a business traveler or personal., very pleased with the stay and again could not be happier with this staff mostly managing breakfast who I engaged with Dailey for just a pleasant stay for an extremely long time in from the states. Highly recommend.!!!

We arrived late in the evening and were quickly given our room. The host recognized us as IHG Priority Club members and offered us additional points or free beverages. We took the points towards our next free night and the nice host still gave us a couple drink tickets. From that moment on I knew we were going to have a good stay at the Holiday Inn Express Manchester Airport. We took our luggage to the room and came back down to enjoy some dinner in the restaurant on the ground floor. We ordered some garlic bread, a side of fries, mac and cheese bites and the loaded nachos with Texas spicy bean and vegetable chili. The meal was good for hotel food. Breakfast was included and even starts at 04:00 for the people with early flights. Fresh start is 04:00-06:30 daily and Express start is 06:30-10:00 daily. They also offer to go sacks for those that want to take your breakfast with you. Highly recommended and would stay here again if the opportunity arises.

The Cosy Lunch Menu is tremendous value: M-Sat 12-14:30 2 course 12 GBP (or 3 courses for 15 GBP) is hard to beat. *THE SEABASS is amazing. Perfectly done crust/skin, moist seabass... GORGEOUS. *Rump Steak is my hubby's fave - the peppercorn sauce is unbelievably good. * the Sticky toffee pudding is delish. *The Button Mushrooms in stilton sauce starter is a must. Generous portion and yet, we all vy for more bites. SO. YUMMY. *The Lamb Shank Main is so tender and delicious! Big portion as well, so my hubby and I usually share it, along with an appetizer and dessert. *I am a big fan of the Steak and Ale pie and always get it when it's on the lunch menu - the beef is so tender, and crust flaky and the flavor is deep and complex. It's cut into a large wedge slice. So so good! It's one of my son's faves. We are big fans and can't wait to go back once Lockdown 2.0 is over.
