I'd been going to FAC for many years...spent a fortune. I used to recommend them to friends and…read morefamily, but...no longer. The last time I went to them was just that...the last! Staff is rude, immature and unsupportive...you will be viewed as a problem if you have any issues or complaints. First issue this time with FAC, was whomever answered the phone in the RSM office told me there was a $100./syringe extra physician fee, whether it's botox or filler, etc...that was incorrect. I let the main San Clemente office know...but somehow it was "my bad" that I informed them. Further, before I went in I'd asked one of the receptionist, "Monique" to remind me to ask Dr.Brandon for a prescription for tretinoin, as the RSM office had told me "we haven't carried tretinoin in quiet sometime". Ok...I'll ask for a prescription then. Discussed this with "Monique" and she reminded me in front of Dr.Brandon. When I called in with the phone number to the pharmacy I asked when the prescription would be transmitted to my pharmacy so hopefully I could pick it up with another non-related medication I needed. For three days all I got from the SC office was "doctor is in surgery all week". I explained that the drive to the pharmacy was quite far and I had fresh torn rotator cuff (severe shoulder injury), and it would be difficult and painful for me to have to make two trips to the pharmacy on the other side of the county. Well I might as well said the sky is blue! When I went into the office for a problem with my facial injections being unbalanced, I was promptly chewed out by Dr. Brandon... VERY humiliating! He didn't even ask me what the issue was and then told me he didn't have time to prescribe and that I should go to a dermatologist! He let me know that I am being perceived as a "problem patient"! This after spending a FORTUNE on injections that were notably not balanced and botox that last only two weeks!! Lumps in my lips that were very painful for weeks! Further, the girl who took my "before" photos made an inappropriate off-hand comment to me after she asked me to make an angry expression with my brows...saying "oh, I wouldn't want to mess with you!"...Say what? I've had plenty of before photos taken and never has anyone ever made an off-hand or rude comment to me. And then during my injections, she was asking Dr. Brandon questions about the products ... I found this inappropriate because that was time I had paid an additional expense for him to do and not educating her...the focus should have been on me, the patient. she can do that on her own time. When I spoke to the front office staff, Monique, about these things she dismissed my complaint by saying to me, "well I guess we all have our levels of humor". Really? I didn't go to FAC for stand up comedy or rude remarks. And I knew when Dr.Brandon confronted me in the procedure room that "Monique" had fully unloaded on him about my issues about the prescription and other issues. There's a lot more I could remark on: wrong laser being present and being pressured to use another laser instead of the appropriate one. Not being fully numbed for a painful procedure. Being cut when they had a office aid remove stitches because it was obviously her first time as she fumbled with the headgear she was wearing. Lots of issues and way too much money wasted. I'm very upset with this staff and surgeon ...and I absolutely would not do more invasive procedures knowing I'm going to be treated so unprofessionally. I was even called at my home by Dr.Brandon where he continued to chew me out!! Unbelievable!

My mom recently passed away, and one of the last things I needed to take care of was her OrangeTwist account. I called the San Juan location, explained that my mother had passed away, and asked what could be done with her balance. The receptionist was unsure but told me the manager, Allison, would contact me. I completely understood this was an unusual situation and had no expectation it would be resolved instantly. Allison eventually emailed me, confirmed the balance was over $1,200, and told me the credit could be transferred to my account. I agreed and explained that I now live in Texas, asking if I could use the credit at an OrangeTwist near me. I even shared how much my mom loved going to OrangeTwist San Juan. Then she completely disappeared. I followed up on September 13 and again on September 18. Three emails over two weeks. No response. I was incredibly patient because this was not something I wanted to spend my time fighting about while grieving my mom. I simply assumed someone would eventually get back to me. I was too nice. When I finally called, Allison was unavailable and I was told someone would call me back. While explaining the situation, I heard another employee say, "I'll talk to her." I appreciated her willingness to speak with me, but what she told me directly contradicted what Allison had previously told me in writing. I was told the credit could NOT be transferred and that I would have to return to that specific location to use it because they "know the situation." I was also given another workaround that made absolutely no sense and left me uncomfortable with the entire situation. At that point, I simply requested the funds be returned. I was told Allison would call me, but was given no timeline or answers. I was also told she had been out sick. I completely understand people getting sick, but two weeks with no response and no one else at the location taking ownership of a grieving customer's emails? That is unacceptable. Thankfully, I eventually contacted corporate, and the difference was night and day. Corporate responded quickly, was compassionate and apologetic, and resolved everything immediately. They transferred the funds to my personal OrangeTwist account so I can use them at a location near me. The manager of the Texas location even personally called to apologize and make things right. That is what customer service should look like. I genuinely appreciate corporate and the Texas manager for ultimately taking care of me. But it should never have taken weeks, multiple unanswered emails, phone calls, conflicting information, and an escalation to corporate to accomplish something the San Juan manager had already told me she could do. What makes this especially upsetting is that this wasn't just a routine customer-service issue. This involved my mother who had just passed away. I was trying to wrap up one of the last remaining pieces of her affairs. I wasn't being demanding or impatient. I gave them plenty of time and grace. I simply needed someone to communicate with me. My mom supported this business for nearly a decade, and knowing how much she loved going to OrangeTwist makes the lack of communication and compassion even more disappointing. Sometimes customer service is about more than policies and procedures. It's about recognizing there is a human being on the other side of the email. This could have been resolved with one email. Instead, I had to repeatedly follow up, explain my mother's passing multiple times, receive conflicting information, and ultimately escalate to corporate. I wasn't initially going to leave a review, but I feel this experience deserves to be acknowledged. This goes beyond a simple customer-service mistake. Very disappointing, to say the least. I hope the San Juan Capistrano location learns from this experience.
