Halloween night. The Aeronaut. A cabaret show from another dimension. Never would have found this place on my own, but holy hell am I glad we had friends in the know. After some time guzzling pitchers of Pimms Cup in the garden, we made our way inside for the show. Hats off to these performers. Maybe I was just wasted, but I felt like I was having a fever dream at the Moulin Rouge - in the best way possible. Get in here. This place rocks. read more

I had a really fun time at The Aeronaut. It was quite a good concept - a big top inside what used to be the famous Redback (now unrecognisable and the floors are no longer sticky from snakebite!). For the Friday evening Cabaret you have to book ahead which only cost £5 up to the last 2 weeks before which is when it goes up to £8 and you get to watch some weird and wonderful cabaret acts during the course of the evening. As far as the acts were concerned it was a bit hit and miss and I was expecting a few more. We had a hula hooper and a contortionist which was insane to watch!! An aerial hoop act which was impressive but quite short, a juggler who probably didn't need to be there and the finale .... Rayguns Look Real Enough who were a comedy music mashup duo who were fabulous!! Highlight of the evening! As a while though I think the acts were a but hit and miss and unfortunately the compere wasn't going down too well either!! Oh well!! But the evening was incredibly fun and once they cleared away the stage it turned into a dance floor and the DJ played an array of hits from 50's through to today with a lot of emphasis on 80's and 90's hits which were great to sing and dance along to. Before the show started we did have a table so we could eat food and there was your usual selection of burgers and salads etc. I went for the veggie falafel burger and to be honest it was extremely bland and needed a hell of a lot more tzatiki and condiments to improve it's flavour! It's great that I was subjected to the usual fried vegetable burger and there was a mushroom risotto on the menu but the burger definitely needed more flavour. It was a bit more like mushed falafel and falafel needs to be a little more grainy I think!! The chips were good though, hand cut, crispy edges and soft in the middle - mmm!! As for drinks they do have a selection of ales on tap, some local, a porter and a stout that were exciting some and all the other usual things a pub can offer. Price wise I think it was pretty reasonable. All in all we did have a great evening and I probably would go again. The place is new so it is probably still getting it's sea legs a little but do pop down for an alternative evening of circus acts and then fun music to dance the night away to - we stayed so late it was a night bus home!! This is a quirky joint that I attended for the Tarantism show, a blend of circus and theatre performances with music from Quentin Tarantino movies. The stage production was great, professional actors and musicians that put on a fun, unique show. Overall the venue could use some work. A dated circus theme meets dive bar. The crowd was not always attentive and it wasn't apparent that there was no table service. Seating was a bit sloppy for the show when people were asked to remain seated although many spots had no clear view of the main stage area. I think the venue appeals to the early twenties crowd, a bit rowdy and unpredictable. It was fun to go once but don't think it's worth another visit for me. read more

Possibly my favourite pub garden ever just for the sheer bonkers aspect of it! Enjoy a quiet drink outside at the circus why don't you? They back up this hilarity with a spacious interior and some decent beers, mostly from Laines brewery who own the pub. I haven't found any of their beers that I flat out love yet, but many of them, such as the Crazy 8 black Ipa which I sampled on this occasion, are perfectly good ales. read more

I dont know how I have not head of the Aeronaut before, seriously it was such a blast! The pub itself is circus and carnival themed with an actual big top, hot air balloon basket and big dodgems sign. If you are going to have a theme, go all out, and that is exactly what they did, so awesome. We went on Friday night for the circus show. To be honest I was not expecting much as it was only £8, which you cant get anything for in London and it was amazing! The host was hilarious and the acts were so so great, we will absolutely be back for the circus as well as the other shows they have on. The food terrific too! I had the chicken burger with chorizo and red pepper and chips, huge portion and really tender meat. I think the circus menu is slightly smaller than the full menu but I was very satisfied with the selection. They brew their own beer and also have a pretty good selection of cocktails. If you want another draught beer they also have that. After the show ended the dance floor opened and the DJ was playing really great retro music, as nerdy as it sounds I started a playlist on my phone because each song after the other was a "I LOVE THIS SONG". There is also a massive beer garden fitting in with the cirucs theme and each little individual hut had a theme "bearded lady", "strong man" etc, they each had a self controlled heater too so that you can enjoy the outside area without a fur parka. I have read in a few other reviews about the cute bartenders... this is not a myth.... read more

I am so shocked that I am just learning about the Aeronaut! How did I not know about this before??? The Aeronaut is such a cool, quirky place with a very nice atmosphere and amazing decor. They have really taken the circus theme all the way and it is truly spectacular. I came here on Friday night with a few friends to see the "circus show" and was surprised at how good it was. Not that I was expecting it to be bad, but for 8$ I was really impressed with the quality and length of the show. We made a reservation for a dinner table the day of in order to have good seats to see the show. I had the sweet potato quesadilla which was pretty tasty and cheap. The show started right on time and was a set of 5/6 acts that were all pretty amazing. Once the show was over the stage area turns into a big dance floor and the bar crowd piles in. They also have a great outdoor beer garden area which I can imagine is amazing in the summer. The decor out there is also very cool with loads of circus themed booths. I will definitely come back soon to check out some of the other amazing deals they have.. 12$ bottomless bloody marys, mimosas, coffee and an entree...... seems to good to be true.... This was there second time coming here and it's so so so good!! They have 2 beer gardens, one with cutely decorated huts to sit in and one with faux grass in an open area with a BBQ (amazing food, beautifully cooked by a friendly chef) and there's also a fire pit! Awesome. The staff here are all super friendly, easy to chat to. They make you feel really welcome. There's an interesting selection of drinks, including a couple of cloudy ciders on tap. The strawberry one is awesome, the rhubarb was pleasantly gross. Now onto the food. By the power of grayskull I haven't had any food here I dislike, and I've tried a handlefull of things! BBQ chicken, cooked to perfection and seasoned by some kind of culinary Queen! (the chef was female when I went) Honestly best BBQ I've ever had. They also do a beaut of a halloumi wrap for you veggies. We got a selection of their finger foods to snack on while we waited and we were not disappointed. Massive prawns with dip, so darn succulent and evidently fresh. The chicken wings here are divine! You can suck the chicken off the bone, with the only hassle being licking their sticky sauce off of your fingers!! We had a cute little bowl of whitebait, very generous portion size and great to nibble on. Tasted too good. We also tried their deep fried brie and cranberry sauce, again not disappointed! Generous portion size. For mains I had fish and chips as I haven't had that in a while and the fish just melts in your mouth. I also went for an old favourite of mine, sticky toffee pudding. Did their luck run out? Nope! This too was brilliant, moist but not claggy, served with a generous helping of sauce. Not only is this an awesome place to hang out for drinks, but I would genuinely come here to get food like I would visit a restaurant. This 'pub ' goes well beyond. Downside is they're out of the way, though it means you can drive and park quite easily! I also watched their circus and by Jove was it one hell of a show!! I was surprised by how good it was, with fantastic hosts engaging with people and making everyone laugh! There's seats on 3 sides of the stage, messaging everyone gets a good view and there's takes too - so you can eat in there and have your bottles in front of you. The pub has great ambience and is very spacious. I loved the decor and apparently they hold circuses there on weekends! They have fantastic outdoor space with quirky "stall" booths so definitely going back there for a dinner and show! I went to a Yelp event here and it was great, the staff were friendly and polite and the whole look of the place is amazing. The night started in the garden with a BBQ and a live singer and then we finished the night off on the dance flop in the circus room. The food was amazing and tailored well for vegetarians and the drinks went down well with it. I highly recommend this place for a Friday night out. read more

Visited Aeronaut first time last night, attending Yelp's BBQ event. I am going to pay a visit again for sure! Such a nice pub! Huge inside space, and a circus area with a standing arena having circus/aerial/cabaret live performances every Friday & Saturday night. They have also a huge backyard, just perfect for the hot summer nights to have your drinks outdoor. Really nice place to have a fun night out with friends! read more

Can't comment on the circus show, but their pub quiz is good. The early questions were fairly easy, but they got harder. There was a photo round and a music/audio round, and bonus points were awarded for an art project. The quizmaster was personable and funny. It costs £2 to play, but quiz night seems to also be discount burgers night, so it's not a bad deal. (Winners get tickets to the circus show, free drinks, etc. so that's what I imagine the price funds.) The space is large and comfortable. The burgers tasted pretty good, and the chips and fries were nicely done. We would return for quiz! read more

Was here last night for the circus show, and it was really great fun. Well worth the ticket price - the different acts were all varied and all fantastic. A magician, acrobats and a singer (who did a great song about Disney tropes). The decor was really awesome, they had pitched a massive circus tent which added to the feel of the place - and the benches made it easy to watch. After the shows were done, they opened up the dance floor where I danced (terribly) to a good mixture of music - and spilt many a beer on myself. The drinks were all fairly priced, for London anyway - and they had a wide variety of drinks to choose from - though I just stuck to the beer. Definitely worth a visit, I would go again! read more

This circus themed bar and club was just what we were looking for!! Open until 2am we started with a reasonably priced bottle of Prosecco for £12. The place was lively when we arrived about 10.30pm and there was a nice mixed crowd jumping around on the dance floor! We stayed until the end and the bouncer although trying to usher people out of the door kindly offered to take a photo of me in the astronaut cardboard cut out! Only been here a couple times for some food and a quiet drink. Service is average. Food is ok, although the burger tonight wasn't as we remembered? Was more like sausage meat rather than beef pattie? Maybe it's different because tonight was 2-for-1 on burgers...The hand cut fries were good though. Unfortunately my wine came in a glass full of lipstick marks around the rim... Er.... It wasn't like it was too dark to notice when pouring, the barmaid did apologise and said lipstick is hard to come off in the dishwasher... Maybe they should give them little polish? There's a lot to recommend the Aeronaut, and not just the obvious - that there's a circus in there! It would be easy to rely on such a great gimmick, but actually the decor is lovely, the staff helpful, the food amazing and there more drinks than you can imagine. There's even a brewery in there, making really excellent ales (I'm not normally an ale drinker). As for the circus? Great, great fun. Cheeky compere and lots of great acts. Highly recommended. There's nowhere in Acton (or London) like it. read more

Great pub, especially for those with children. Really nice back garden area with nice booths. Great place to let the kids run around without them getting under the feet of those in the bar. Especially nice on a sunny day. Main bar area is quite nice and cosy in the evening and has a nice micro-brewery for a unique and tasty pint. Cabaret night does sound good, but I've not been there yet so can't really comment. The cabaret room itself is a decent size and can be hired out for parties etc. Again, great for kids on a Saturday afternoon so they can run around whilst the parents have a pint! read more

The Aeronaut is a cool pub. I've been on a couple of occasions and dancing to old tunes and tons of beers and shots make for a fun evening. However, my girlfriend and I left our coats on the benches while ordering drinks near closing time. When we came back, they were gone. The bartenders said that a staff-member probably put them in the back room and to call back the next morning. I called, and they said they had both of our coats together, citing the brand and style. When we went later in the day, they gave us my girlfriend's coat, but mine somehow mysteriously disappeared. I hope one of the staff is enjoying my expensive Banana Republic bomber jacket, because it was a favourite of mine. Needless to say, I haven't been back. read more

Definitely the best bar in Acton. I've been a few times during the week, and has always had a nice vibe, and the staff are lovely. Drink prices are reasonable, which a range on offer. It's a great place to go in the evening as well. Unfortunately I didn't go for the circus (I want to at some point) but they have a great DJ and it gets very lively, with people even dancing in one of the rooms. The garden is also lovely! read more
