I received an email from this spa, advertising a chemical peel offer. The peel focused on pigmentation removing sun spots etc. The normal cost £250, the offer price £98. The advert stipulated "GUARANTEED", in small print down the page it said you might require more than one. Speaking with Maria the proprietor, I went ahead and made an appointment, she suggested I had 2 sessions which I gladly agreed too, and paid for both in advance. During our phone conversation I explained clearly to her what my issues were. An appointment was made before Christmas, about a week before the appointment she changed the date, but not just the date also the location. Initially I made this appointment to attend the clinic at Wilbraham place, Belgravia, now I had to traipse over to High Street Kensington. When I arrived I duly filled in a consent form and was then taken to her treatment room. My appointment was at 3p.m.. I started a conversation asking Maria about Ultherapy treatment and Thermage, she spent 10mins explaining to me what was entailed and the results I could expect. She then went ahead with the job in hand, commenced with a cleanse, then randomly dabbing with a cotton wool ball the solution on my face, in my mind not giving a thorough coverage. She then asked me from 1-10 what effect the solution was having, as in tingling , I said 5. The solution was removed a moisturiser applied and that was the first appointment over. She had no after care cream for me to purchase. She informed me she had just moved into these premises, and had no stock here, and for me to go online and purchase hydraderm cream from Amazon or go to Boots and purchase some Aqueous Cream. I left her treatment room at 3.30pm. A few days later I slightly flaked on my chin and forehead area. This treatment had not concentrated on the area that I needed addressing. About a week later I received a phone call from Maria, I thought to follow up on the peel I had, alas no, to see if I had any further thoughts on having the Ultherapy treatment. I pointed out to her that I wasn't impressed with the peel I had and that there was no noticeable difference to my face.
Next appointment date changed and again venue now in Chelsea which suited me fine. This treatment was carried out far more thorough as in gauze was used, and the coverage seemed to be all over. Again I was asked by her to rate the tingling which this time was 8. A few days later I began peeling on my chin and forehead and lower jaw line, again not effecting the area in question.
I rang Maria and discussed my results. Straight away she was on the defence I explained I was very unhappy and that both peels had not made one iota of difference to my complexion and I did say I thought this treatment was a "CON". Rather than inviting me back for a review and managing the situation professionally she duly bid me good day and put the phone down on me.
I then rang one of the clinics she works from, and spoke with the owner, asking if this unreasonable and unacceptable behaviour from Maria was the norm. That evening I received an email from Maria threatening me with legal proceedings for defamation of character because I spoke out. I stand by my opinion the treatment I received did not achieve what was promised. Maria's behaviour was not only startling but quite honestly unreasonable, all down to the fact, she didn't like what she heard. I ask you, is this anyway to resolve a simple problem. read more
