They are very deceptive here. I was upfront with them about my rental history and they claimed that I would be eligible for concessions and agree to a lower security deposit. However, after I applied and paid the $250 admin fee they said they made a mistake and that no exceptions can be made to honor our original agreement and that they would not refund my money. I have kept all my email and record all my phone interactions with this management. If you do decide to live at these apartments, I would suggest you do the same. read more

been here for 5yrs(finally decided to not renew lease 12/2024) and the management changed. we started out on one single bedroom which is was1405 and it was Cats infested and big rats climbing on 2nd floor roof and balconies! there's a neighbor up front who feeds stray cats and if you ever visit north side of their property it's filled with cats. two times a cat climb into our patio and gave birth underneath my outside tables on two different events. if you have any work done in ANY laundry room pls keep in mind the workers will step on your washer and dryer machines even though they bring in their ladders! they use it as ladder. first time happened to me when I was in one bedroom and they did it again to me (in my 2 bedroom apt im in now) last month (10/2024). I had MOLD and they cut out the worse mold and spray paint some. See photos. we moved from 1 bedroom to 2 bedroom which it will be South side area of the apartment complex. this side always have water heater NOT working, the internet that come with the apartment don't work mostly at night close to midnight hours! read more

I've been living at the abbey at Willowbrook for 2 years and it's been a hassle and inconvenience since day one. I had to go 9-10 days without a/c in 102 degree weather. Since I've been living here they've been replacing parts but not the a/c, I payed $1315 for rent and still had to pay $350- to stay in a hotel for some of the days I didn't have air. I work from home and the days I stayed in a hotel were unpaid days for me, On top of that the leasing office and the corporate office refused to reimburse me the money I had to pay for a hotel. No one should be paying 1315 or any rent for that matter and be without the necessities. This is a honest and factual review and I truly Wouldn't recommend you renting here or any of their sister properties read more

I moved into this complex in 2022 and will move out once my lease is up in Aug 2025. In all honesty, I wouldn't recommend living here, and staying as long as I did, because it was reasonably priced, but the headache is not worth it. First, the horror story is that the unit I was trying to move into the tent wanted to stay past his move-out date, and I was told this 3 days before moving in, so I had to live with family for a month until the person left. Right now, since last year of 2024, they haven't wanted to give me any accommodations or give me back my money, so I was stuck. My neighbors in apartment 806 have sex ALL THE TIME at a very late time of the night. I have made many complaints, yet all they said was that it isn't something they can control, even though it is considered a noise complaint. Vandalism and trash are everywhere. The walls are THIN, so if you want to be able to hear everything going on around you and your neighbors hearing the same, then you are right at home. Also, every time it rains, the power goes out. Don't waste your money here. The water is always under iffy and it takes maintenance 40 days/40 nights to fix minuscule issues. We have had mold in our washer/dryer area for months now. She is inconsiderate and finds it an inconvenience to do even the most simple of tasks such as give you the package the post office refuses to deliver to your door. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY!! I visit them on 03/20, Rosa was pretty good at explaining the process and told me, my sister in law and her mom that I needed to pay the admin fee upfront when applying but that if there was any issue with my application and they would refund it back. A week later they call me to tell me that my application was not approved and I asked them about my refund, again they said it would be refunded. Today April 12th I decided to call because I still don't have it back. The other leasing officer took the call and when I asked about my refund she put me on hold, once back she told me "oh sorry we cannot refund you", I asked for a reason and she didn't have one. I asked to speak to the manager or supervisor because I was told otherwise 2 times and have witnesses, she said "oh sure, one moment". And put me on hold. 23 minutes on hold and they still not coming back to the phone, waiting for me to hang up and forget about it. This is a scam, plain and simple. Oh! I've lived here for awhile and I must say the worst decision. Management is horrible and could care less. The apartments are infested with roaches, they use to utilize Terminix in which worked hard to control the issue and it was working until they hired some other company in which does nothing and I'm sure this current company was severely cheaper. A couple of people have moved out due to the infestation and I'm working on doing the same. There's always something wrong with the water system that will leave you without water to the point of having to go purchase jugs of water just to bathe and wash hands etc. CRIME is horrible! Residents robbed by gunpoint, breaking in cars, cops all of the time raiding apartments. If there is one good thing to say about these apartments its that their lucky to have the elder lady that keep the grounds clean. Well one other good thing is that they had the complex painted. I've been living here since 2017 and overall it's been a good stay. Though I'm not a fan of the high water bill and having to pay for cable( which went up when I renewed), and how much the rent goes up when it's time to renew my lease. I dont have any issues with my neighbors and they keep the grounds of the apt clean. I've had a great experience with maintenance, don't care for the different faces I keep seeing in the office. But they are helpful when I come in with any issues. The pool area is cool, I've taken my niece a few times with no problems. But overall my stay has been decent. read more

water as been turned off every day for over a month due to them doing renovations to the apartments so they can raise the rent obviously. this is extremely uncomfortable and inconvenient. there is no notice before they turn off the water and most of the time there's no given time of when it will be turned back on. recently the water heater has broken for now a week +. please don't move here . terrible place to pay rent no accountability or courtesy from the leasing office. smh read more

NOT HOT WATER FOR ENTIRE MONTH OF APRIL- DO NOT MOVE HERE Residents in building 21 - hot water in the last month I am forming a legal document to file a formal compliant with TAA due to lack of due diligence/negligence to fix the boiler for the month of April. I have called, left voicemails and emails to management and even spoke with with in person to be lied to repeatedly about the hot water heater being fixed. As of 4/26/19 6am there is no hot water! This is a major health hazard as we can not clean our bodies, clothes, or dishes properly without hot water. Today I found out that they did not replace anything but have only patched up things here and there and lied about paying $2,000 to replace the parts. We pay rent here and utilities to have the necessaries in life and they are not concerned about us. This is breaking contractual terms of our lease. Maintenance is probably the only thing worth for this place but even that is not top-notch. We had a water leek above us during the winter time due to a water pipe freezing and busted. Super nice repairmen came to fix it and barely painted over the water patches. You can still see water stains still after their attempt to make it look like a normal wall. Water bill has pretty much doubled over the last 2 years we have been here and we've used the same amount of water. Water bill is currently $129 when it used to be $50 and we were even gone for vacation for a portion of the month. Staff never returns phone calls and we'd have to call them back multiple times. I've had my laptop and my gate key stolen the first month living here after leaving my car unlocked one time. At this point, I cannot wait to move out of here. 4 more months and we're free. read more

This is the worst apartment I've ever lived in. And I lived in greens point. They charged me for things outside of my control. They don't answer the office phone. They don't call back. They open your packages. Their gym door won't open. The maintenance team is incompetent. Old copper wiring means your internet will never be any good. Constant power outages. Neighbors go unchecked by staff or anything because of nepotism. Parking is horrible. There's no pantry in most of their plans. The gate hardly ever works. the Manager Connie is unprofessional, she is rude, and she will not respond to you unless you literally go sit in the office until she is free to talk to you. it takes her somewhere between 2 weeks and 1 month to respond to anything.... and when you ask her why she responds by throwing her boss or her staff under the bus or complains that she is super busy. I went two months without AC, and have had multiple maintenance issues that where never fully resolved, also countless billing issues, I highly recommend looking else where until property management can find a more suiting manager and maintenance staff. its not worth the headache read more

I would give this place 3.5 stars. I moved into the complex earlier this year, and think it's nice. The location/area is close to everything- Willowbrook mall, restaurants, and local shops. My 2 bedrooms apartment is spacious with hardwood floor, stainless steel appliances, and a big bathroom. However, the walls are thin. I can hear when the upstairs and next door neighbors walk around, play with their dogs, or vacuum. I have a small outside fenced patio which also has a outside closet for the washer and dryer. (Which I don't care for.) They include a $50 "amendity" charge for cable, which is high for just cable. There's a gym, swimming pool, and plenty of parking available. The exterior of the apartments are well maintained. But ground is not great- there are lots of rocks instead of grass and at least 8 stray cats. Otherwise, the area is pretty quiet and people keep to themselves. Also, The staff is helpful and pretty much fix any issues within a day or two. read more

Do not move here!!! The Abbey At Willowbrook is horrible. Its nice to look at, but once you live here you being to see the cheap and poor maintenance of the complex and the absolute incompetence of the office staff. My unit, specifically, is a 2 bedroom & 2 bathroom. Upon our move in we noticed fixes such as uneven paint, and our thermostat not reading the correct temperature (its about 10 degrees off), fire stops were not in place, one of the electric burners on the stove doesn't work, and the laundry/utilities closet (which is outside on the patio) was growing mold through the roof, and our light fixture in the utilities closet was full of stagnant water. Since, Oct. 2015 when we moved in, only the uneven paint was corrected, it is now Jan. 2017. We've also had consistent issues with ants, and cockroaches. Pest control does what they can but the real issue is the old complex that is a giant nest for these pests, my vacuum proves to do a better job than the Orkin man. All of these fixes took a bit of a back seat after intense storms during the spring/summer of 2016 took place. We noticed water stains on our ceiling in two different areas, and then on our walls near the baseboard where there was also staining, swelling and separation from the baseboard to the wall. We called the office and their maintenance crew came out to inspect the damage and maybe finally get the mold outside in the utility closet under control, we were told that all they would be doing is painting and caulking it, and that a separate crew would be out to do repairs and address the mold. We were never notified when the crew would come out, they just showed up randomly at 8 am and we were totally unprepared. The work that needs to be done requires moving the laundry machines and bedroom furniture, and with zero notice at 8am it just wasn't going to happen. So I spoke with the office and set up another time, this time they sent out one person to inspect the damages, which we had already done. Then again they sent the crew out too early and without giving us any notice. And we went back and forth like that several times, having consistent miscommunication. Finally, we have reached an agreement that when we are ready to have the crew come, we will call and it will be set up. My most recent dilemma is having my account over drafted over $800. I wrote two checks, that were both misread by the scanner. Both office managers were both so apologetic, blaming the computer because it does most of the work. Which tells me that all they are good for is answering a phone and pushing buttons, and even that is done poorly. They don't take notes, or communicate messages and apparently don't even manually check their deposits. Honestly, after looking at a ledger balance for a one month period, I wouldn't be surprised if their books are never balanced. I've already contacted corporate and they are taking care of the situation, however a check in 3-4 days does not remedy the utter negligence of their office staff. And these are just a few of the experiences we've had with The Abbey. I truly do not feel like this is "Life...The way it was meant to be". I've only just begun to tell everyone I possibly can to look else where. The Abbey at Willowbrook is a con, looking to charge top dollar for apartments that are falling apart. read more

I am currently living here at The abbey at willowbrook. i love the apartment but the staff in the office is HORRIBLE. to move here, we were told 3 different prices by 3 different people. so everytime we came in with a certain amount of money (that we were previously told to bring) it was now a different price. such an inconvenience!! obviously the staff were not on the same page. one person told us we were going to get free wifi, then someone else who works there said thats not true and its cable that is free. Again, they arent on the same page. Another time, i had called the office and they were not picking up..so i called again and again. by the 3rd call, someone answered and said " i figure i should pick up the phone since your name keeps popping up on the caller ID" This made me furious as they should be answering every persons call. why does it take 3 times to call to finally talk to someone. I should not be trying this hard to reach someone at the Abbey at willowbrook. they get paid to answer phone calls. but besides the unprofessional staff, the apartments are beautiful and are in a good location. read more
