I want to shout out to the most amazing community resource and truly Godly people in Marion VA!…read more Yesterday a man came into our Community Connections office literally with no SHOES on his feet directly from Sparta NC. He spoke little English and needed help. Our office manager Brittany Kell and Program Manager Shane Farris took him to Helping Hands thrift store in downtown Marion and not only did they help him with clothing -they fed him, found translators to speak with him and helped him to get home to NJ. These women are truly literally doing God's work. Pls shop there, donate clothing etc there and, if you are able, make a monetary donation. This is what Marion should be known for. The beauty of the area and the beautiful people whose hearts and love make this a place to be proud of!

I love this store !!!! It's full of so many different items to choose from that a person (being me)…read moreof course could look for several hours !!!!! I found everything from some of my favorite books, to designer clothing. Oh and I can't forget the best find of all?? A couple years ago I really needed to find my dad a warm yet light weight coat. I had bought new one's and his last favorite was a dickies work coat and he wore it for 2 winters and it was shot. I searched for a new one then I tried used and still couldn't find the same one. I happened upon Outreach for Addiction Thrift Store and I found this amazing Eddie Bauer puffer light weight thinsulate zip up black coat. He was 85 at the time and didn't like a lot of weight on him, but needed the warmth. So for less than $5 I ended up with an amazing coat for my wonderful dad and many other favorites for me and the whole family. I also found a couple books I had not been able to find out on the thrift book sales or even the library book sales. I found 2 there I was pleased to have found. Thanks for all your hard work and I'm going to call to ask about volunteering a couple days during the week or as much as I can. I also have some donations if your taking thanks again V. Pippin

She didn't call back, so I called her. She claimed their truck couldn't make it up the road. I told her that, believe it or not, my mother's furniture and appliances had been delivered by box trucks, and carried up the steps. Surely a box truck could do the same thing, and the "workers" would have an easier task coming DOWN the steps. She refused.
