When you order a book, you can also order it just to have a look at the item in reality, thus you don't have to buy it if you don't like it. Located on Mariahilferstraße and sprawling over three floors Thalia is fairly extensive. There is a large English and smaller Spanish language section at the back of the store. Diverse selection of books, DVDs, CDs and stationary and many members of staff just waiting to find what you're looking for. Not too expensive either and if you look deep enough there are some good bargains to be had. Well worth a few minutes.

On a recent trip I picked up some David Sedaris and Stephen Clarke, found some English-language travel guides that I hadn't seen at the British Bookstore, and was sorely tempted to buy even more books but realized they wouldn't fit in my luggage for the trip back home.
