In fact I didn't expect much at all. Well how wrong was I. A beautifully presented restaurant with linen tablecloths and a lovely outdoor dining area. The menu was not large but offered all the Thai favourites. Fresh and fragrant the food was delicious. I really liked the fact that the chicken satays were not drowned in sauce but had the sauce in a dish on the side. Service was efficient and unobtrusive and the staff dealt extremely well with a large table of people that couldn't make up their minds on what to eat and drink. The only downside was it was quite expensive for a Thai restaurant. Well done Barossa Siam. I will be back.

The dishes are a decent serving size and the staff are generally quite nice. Pricing is on par with what you would expect. The food quality is good and there are a lot of flavors. Vegetables are generally pretty fresh which is also a positive. The steak is flavorsome however seasoning and sauces on some dishes can sometimes be a bit bland for my taste. The store is well positioned in the heart of McLaren Vale by the caravan park and is good for a quick dinner. Meals are $11 to $16. Personal favorites from the menu are Pork ribs in plum sauce, sizzling pepper chicken, satay chicken and lemon chicken. Rice is sold separately for $3 and is generally nice fluffy. Medium serves are not that much more pricey.

There are a million things that look good on the menu that I haven't got around to trying yet because I just cant get past the Massaman curry. It could be intervention time, I've gotta branch out people. I also go for the service, The lady who makes the magic happen has hospitality running through her veins; she always makes dining in an absolute pleasure with her super friendly demeanor. But what is also great is I can get takeaway so I can indulge my Massaman fetish away from the worlds prying eyes. You can find Sala Thai just off the main street in Stirling in the Adelaide hills. it doesn't accommodate hoards of people though so book ahead because its quite popular. Definitely the best yellow curry I have tried. Also, they are creative with their dishes and don't just throw the same veggies in every dish.
