The food is pretty good and the staff really nice. I can't quite remember what I had but I believe it was the noodles (as opposed to the curry). They also have the traditional Thai beers as well. There is the option to swap plain rice with fragrant coconut rice, that goes especially well with curries. They do not hold back on the spices for the curries. Spicy means spicy here. I've never been disappointed coming here.

As a vegetarian, I usually go with the red or green curry, after an entrée of either the curry puffs or the Tofu Tod. The curries here are mouth watering, and on any night of the week you'll see the restaurant full up, which is always a good indication of the food being served inside this beautiful little restaurant. Great service, fabulous food and decent prices, expect to pay around $10 for a main curry and $7 for an entrée.

For dessert i had banana dumplings with ice cream - for those wondering thats just steamed sweetened sticky rice with bananas encased in a banana leaf - tastes like how my mum makes them :) This restaurant I'm told (and what i have observed when i was there) is very popular in the area and bookings are essential. Thai on Street makes mention on the exterior of the venue that they are Thai 'fine dining' however, they really aren't - and that's probably for the better. It's a cosy, simple venue with some pretty spectacular food. The small restaurant was packed late on a Sunday night while the competitors that surround them where empty - do I bother even writing anymore? We ordered the entree 'basket', which offered one item of each of the entrees - fish cake, money bag, spring roll, curry puff and prawn spring roll. All were delicious but the money bags were a particular standout - I might just order them the next time. For mains we shared a classic Thai beef salad, which - be warned - packs a serious chilli punch! However it was balanced out by the fresh mint and tangy dressing - a really great salad. We finished with a red duck curry, which was served atop a single tealight candle - unnecessary but a gorgeous way of serving the dish! It had some incredible flavour and really hit the spot, however a dash more duck and a splash less liquid would have made it an "I'm ordering this every time" kinda dish. The perfect spot if you're after an easy after-work dinner.

I went for a dish called Pad Ped Yang from the hot plate section of the menu with a coconut rice. The dish had duck (cooked beautifully) and veggies. There wasn't as much flavour to the dish as I'd hoped but was still enjoyable. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant itself was very busy for mid week (always a good sign) and I loved the Photos of Thailand on the walls. Loved the sign in the toilet door too (see photo). It made me feel like I was in Thailand again with the poorly translated signs I'll go back to the restaurant and try a fish dish or curry next time I think.

My colleague and I…read morehad been pining for Thai food - me because I had found it unaffordable to have dinner in Perth with each main costing around 27-30 dollars and him having just moved over from Leeds. The restaurant is pretty large and busy and as soon as we entered at around 6.30pm on a Friday we were asked if we had a booking. We said no and were told that we only had the table until 7.30pm. Despite the limited time the waitress did not rush us to order. We ordered the fish cakes (5 on a plate for 8.90 - what a bargain), pork skewers (4 for 8.9), three servings of jasmine rice, duck red curry and chicken massaman curry. The massaman curry actually comes with wagyu beef but they happily exchanged it for chicken. The food arrived fairly quickly. The fish cakes were soft to cut into and very favourable and were complimented by the sweet chilli sauce. The pork skewers were delicious and came with a vinegary soy chopped chilli sauce. The massaman curry contained large pieces of sweet and golden potatoes and succulent large chicken pieces. The red duck curry contained thinly sliced pieces of duck with lychee and peppercorn. The rice was slightly undercooked and crunchy. Though the food tasted great I didn't think it was fresh. I asked for the food to be made slightly hotter and both curries had a kick to them but were not spicy. The red curry tasted exactly the same as the massaman curry. The curries did not have any veggies like carrots or beans that you usually find in a Thai curry. I was really disappointed by the undercooked rice. Though the kitchen is visible and looks clean, the bowls that we ate in looked dusty and old. The food was delicious but the curries did not come with alternate options. For example you couldn't order vegetarian red curry or a tofu green curry like you can in many Thai restaurants where you have the option of which meat you would like to pair with the curry or whether you would like the vegetarian option. They had mushroom rolls and not the usually vermicelli vegetarian spring rolls on the menu. Fresh coconut juice was unavailable and you had to order coconut juice for 7 dollars that came from a can. Outrageous. The bill for two starters, two mains, and three bowls of rice came to around 60 bucks. Pretty cheap compared to Perth and I was pretty full and satisfied but think the menu needs more options.

I've been going there for very good reasons. The food is excellent. It's got acceptable décor. Service is usually pretty fast. Did I mention that the food is excellent? It's pretty well priced too. I usually grab a red beef curry, and that's under $15. A bit of coconut rice and maybe an appetiser, and you've got a nice dinner for two for around $25. Occasionally there are mistakes made when you order, like getting chicken instead of beef, and that sort of thing. But they'll bend over backwards to make things right. That's part of the reason I like them. They're very customer satisfaction focused. Give them a go. You'll really like the food. Especially if you get off the train at Syndal after a hard day at work.

I highly recommend any of those three, as the flavors are really outstanding. Being that I am yet to try any of their meat options, I can't speak to the quality of those, but the vegetables are fresh and the overall flavor of everything on the menu is really good. I would also recommend the Thai beer Singha with just about anything on the menu, as in my limited experience it is the best Thai beer that is widely available, and drinking an Australian beer at a Thai restaurant is just stupid.

This place reminds me of my time in Thailand ordering food off those street carts. It's loud and hectic inside but it brought back a lot of memories. We ordered paw paw salad or papaya salad which was well balanced in flavours. The pork crackling on top was so good. Sour sausage is delicious. It has rice inside and I usually dipped in the papaya salad sauce to bring extra taste. The tom yum noodles was a bit different to what I'm used to. It didn't really taste like Tom yum. Mm and the dessert - sticky rice with durian reminds me of my mum who makes it at home all the time. But of course if you don't like durian, I dare you to try it!
