Friday we went to Nan's Thai Noodle at 1900 Tamiami Trl #112, Port Charlotte located in the Murdock Carrousel Shopping Center. It was not crowded when we went. Looking around we saw that the space was clean and bright. We were greeted as we came in and led to a table by our server. She left the menus for us to look at while she went for the sodas we also wanted. My wife ordered the Chicken with Cashew Nut, which she had before. I decided to have something I had not tried before, the Mixed Vegetables with Chicken. While we waited for the food we had a chance to look around at the décor. It is tastefully decorated in an Asian style. It felt appropriate and was not over done at all. Our food arrived in about 15 minutes and it was delicious! Not only was it fresh and hot, but the heat was exactly what I expected and well done. There was more than enough food. I should have probably brought some home, but it was so good, both my wife and I finished our plates. All in all it was a GREAT experience again. We certainly will be back as Nan's Thai Noodle remains one of our favorite places to dine. If you have not gone there, please do. You will not be disappointed. read more

Fabulous red curry and just as fabulous pad Thai. Super tasty spring roles. We ordered from our motel across the street. It was ready to go when they said. Practicing COVID safety with sanitizer and masks. A few eating in at spaced tables. We did not order hot as we read reviews saying their hot is hot. Since we were traveling, we went with the Yelp guidance. We added chicken to the Pad Thai and pork to the red curry. The meats were perfectly cooked and great in each dish. I had a taste for some Thai food so I ordered spicy Thai noodles and vegetable fried rice.Since I am allergic to oysters so I requested that my dish be made without oyster sauce to which they said that the sauces are premixed and contain oyster sauce. I have then requested to have my dish vegan. Well, I can't even explain how bland and tasteless my dish was.They didn't even used soy sauce or added cilantro,nothing. I was actually unable to eat it.My request was to have it at 3 on the spicy side,it was not spicy at all. I trew the both dishes to the garbage and just wasted $25+ for the food that was not edible. We usually get the pho and cashew chicken, but this time we ordered the egg noodle soup and bugolgi chicken. I liked my noodle soup, but I wished there was more yu choy in the soup. My husband had the bugolgi chicken. He like it and said it was delicious. I tried a bite and thought the chicken was a bit on the dry side. My friend ordered her usual egg rolls and shrimp curry. She loved hers. The prices are very reasonable. Most entrees are between $13-20. Appetizers are between $6-12. The service was very good. Our server was polite and friendly. The food came out fast and our water was always full. This restaurant is great for casual date nights and group dinners. We have been going to Nan's Thai Noodle at Port Charlotte for about 10 years,the owner is always there and does her best to satisfy the hungry customers. This restaurant went through a lot. They double in size since the last time we've been there. They had stuffing issues before but finally have a great crew! All the waitresses are professionals and caring with great oriental hospitality. I always eat the same: TomKa soup,papaya salad and fresh spring rolls. My husband loves the crispy quail and a variety of duck,frog and unique dishes. Drunken noodles are also one of my husband's favorite. Desserts are delicious. I was so excited to be able to spend my birthday finally making it to Thai Noodle and enjoying my birthday lunch. Some of the reviews in the past made this place sound so amazing that I couldn't wait to get there. When my mother and I walked in Friday right before noon, there were only a few tables with patrons sitting. Still, it took us a while to be seated. I should have known then that the service was going to be slow. We were seated and it took a minute for the waitress to take our drink order. Took so long that we actually ordered our appetizers and meals at the same time. Mom ordered Shrimp Volcano minus the spicy sauce. I ordered Pho with chicken and pot stickers. I was watching everyone who came after us get their food first, regardless of the order. About 10 minutes later, the appetizers came out and 4 mini pot stickers were placed before us. For $7 that is a bit steep, especially being as bland as they were. About 15 minutes later, we received our meals. The pho was good and the mom did not care for all the ginger sauce atop her shrimp. It was smothered. Before leaving, I had to have birthday boba so I got a frozen coffee boba and the bill. All together for two drinks, two meals, one appetizer and one boba, the bill was $47 and change. That's a bit steep for Port Charlotte honestly. The service was slow and not worthy of more than 15% tip. Now, days later, I came on Yelp to write my review. I see other people that visited this location around the same time I did feel the same way that I do. Had I read these reviews prior to visiting on Friday, I definitely would've went somewhere else for my birthday lunch. From what I read, they recently renovated and switched management, so perhaps, the Thai Noodle I wanted to visit was the one previous to this one. read more

Sweet ladies working here. We started with the Thai-Samosa appetizer. Wow! We liked them better than Indian Samosas! We came twice just to get these Samosas, they're that good (crispy)! This Thai restaurant seems to have half Chinese food and half Thai food. The food comes out very hot (temperature) and fresh. Not the best Pad Thai (shrimp) that I've had, but still, it was tasty. The curries are good, but something seems to be lacking, not quite sure what it is though. I have done myself wrong by going to other places in the area with the idea of seeing if there is a place better than hers but I was wrong of course. Where to begin? The appetizer, while a simple dish of crab rangoons, was just the right size to get the stomach warmed up. The main dishes came out in a timely manner and they were exactly what I expected! The chefs pho is a mix of vietnamese meatballs, beef brisket and various vegetables with a generous serving of rice noodles. The broth immense flavor, the noodles were delicate yet hearty, and the beef was enough to leave you wondering how they even made it! I can write an entire essay on how delicious the food is here. One of the best places in the area. Authentic Thai food full of spice. We get dinner here regularly. The atmosphere inside could use improvement but the food more than makes up for it. It is crave worthy. My only real serious complaint is that if you order delivery from any app like bitesquad or grubhub that the menu items are inflated in price ON TOP od the service fee and delivery fee. Toss a tip on top and you end up paying like $30 more for delivery. Not sure who is responsible for up-charging the menu items on top of the other fees, its crooked and shady, but assuming it is the services themselves i didn't dock the restaurant a point. I encourage the restaurant to address this, we would certainly order more often, but it stings knowing you are paying so much more and sometimes we just order elsewhere because of it. read more

I (and several others) got the red curry duck, with fried dumplings as an appetizer. If I could give this no stars I would! We ordered two pad thais, spring rolls, and two orders of sushi to-go. When we got home and opened the pad Thai containers the smell was absolutely repulsive. We really should have thrown it away but we decided to try it. It tasted like burnt fish sauce, the chicken was not flat dry bits of meat that resembled chicken but honestly not edible, it was really gross!! After a few bites we stopped. The spring rolls were just as bad, they were burnt, The mystery veggies inside were unappetizing. And came with a dipping sauce that smelled like the burnt fish sauce mixed with rancid vinegar. That's the best way I can describe the smell. We did not try the sauce. The sushi was basically all rice, with minimal filling. But at least we could eat it.
